After a whole Day of Speculations, Ubisoft Confirms Iconic Actor Giancarlo Esposito as the Antagonist of Far Cry 6

The central character in any Far Cry is the antagonist, and the series has produced many impressionable villains for the gaming community. From the first game in the series till the fifth iteration, the iconic persona of villains and their cryptic and twisted mentalities have been the highlight of the game. They took to the absolute extreme when they introduce the lunatic killer Vaas played by the talented Micheal Mando in Far Cry 3. The series went a little downstream with Far Cry 5 as they didn’t even bother to include dialogues for the protagonist, yet the antagonist, ‘the father’ Joseph Seed, was the highlight of the game.

Now Ubisoft is working on their big game reveal during their event Ubisoft forward, which is scheduled for this Sunday. The AAA titles that are confirmed to be featured are Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs legion. A few leaks also popped up a few days back, suggesting that there might be a Far Cry 6 reveal during the event.

Far Cry 6 cover art

Yesterday Far Cry 6 popped up on the HongKong PlayStation store showing the famous Far Cry art cover featuring the villain and the potential release date. According to the leak, the game features famous actor Giancarlo Esposito who has worked in Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian on the cover, which means he would be the pivotal character (the villain of course) in the game. The potential release date of the game, according to the leak, is 18th February 2021. The game will be upgraded to the PS5/Xbox Series X versions for the players who buy it for their current-gen consoles. It also means that Far Cry 6 will also be releasing for the PS4 and Xbox One consoles (YAY!).

The PlayStation store page was quickly taken down once the screenshots of the cover art started appearing on Twitter. Now, after a whole day of speculation, Ubisoft has confirmed that Giancarlo Esposito is going to be the main villain of Far Cry 6. They released a teaser video on their official Facebook page, showcasing the actor in question. The Far Cry 6 will be officially revealed during the Ubisoft Forward showcase this Sunday.
