Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Naval Combat Details have been revealed by Jonathan Dumont, creative director of the game. He took to Twitter to confirm a few aspects of the game which include dynamic weather system, dynamic world and call to arms. He also mentions that enemy ships won’t be the only thing that you will be taking on in the open waters of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
“We have a fully dynamic weather system to fit perfectly with our dynamic world. Sailing can really be a challenge in a storm!”
So not only will you have to worry about enemy ships, but open waters as well. It will be interesting to see what happens when you are in a battle with an enemy ship and the open waters get aggressive. You also won’t be fighting alone. NPC will help you on the way in order to provide a distraction or to help you out in general.
“Yes, we have an ability called Call To Arms that sends your recruits to distract and fight NPCs (non-playable characters).”
Just like previous Assassin’s Creed games that had naval combat, you will be able to upgrade your ship with better weapons and armor. The following are the details that have been provided by Jonathan Dumont:
“You can upgrade your weapons, hull and ramming device through progression. The crew can be recruited through the world to bring specific perks to your ship and cosmetic elements an also be applied to your ship and crew.”
We have seen some of these things in the previous games but the variety should be different when it comes to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. The naval details are interesting but we have seen much of this before and I for one will be looking forward to checking out the implementation of these features.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey seems to be a different take on the game even though this is an Assassin’s Creed game, we have seen no reference of Assassins. This is something that we will have to look into. Ubisoft has not talked about the lack of Assassins in the game but we will soon find out what is going on.
