Control is a game by Remedy that was revealed at the Sony conference at E3 2018 and we couldn’t help but notice that it looked very similar to another game that Remedy worked on, Quantum Break. According to Head of Communications at Remedy, Thomas Puha:
“It’s the same engine, same people. So it’s going to have some similarities, but they’re very, very different. Quantum Break was very linear, and Control is a lot more open-ended. It’s a lot darker. Our art direction is completely different from Quantum Break. I mean, yes, they’re third-person, and, yes, there’s powers and abilities in both games, but rest assured, they’re very different.”
I guess it is fair enough that both games have the same teams and the same engines so there is going to be some similarity between the two but it is nice to know that the game is going to be different. While Quantum Break was a decent game, it had issues of its own. I hope that the game is different and does not make the same mistake. If you want to learn more about the story of Control, the following is what Remedy has revealed:
“Control is Jesse Faden’s story. The main plot focuses on her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Side-quests and Secrets are everywhere. Jesse works with other Bureau agents, decodes cryptic ciphers and discovers strange Bureau experiments.”
Control is a game that we are looking forward to checking out but we do not have a release date for the game or even a release window. This could mean that there is a lot of time before the game comes out but looking at the trailer I am sure there are plenty of people just like me that are waiting for the game to come out so that they can dive into this new world.
It should be interesting to see how fans will differentiate Control and Quantum Break and whether or not they agree with what the devs say when they play the game.
