Cyberpunk 2077 Will Be Optimized For Xbox One X And PS4 Pro, PC Will Get Priority

According To CD Projekt RED CEO Marcin Iwinski

Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that we are all hyped for and seeing the game at the Microsoft conference at E3 2018 got some fans thinking that the game will be optimized for Xbox and not for PS4. As it turns out, Cyberpunk 2077 will be optimized for both but PC will get a priority over consoles.

PC is getting a priority of consoles for a good reason and according to CD Projekt RED CEO Marcin Iwinski:

“It’s running on a high-spec PC. It’s the next generation of our own proprietary engine – and speaking frankly, we’re still working on the rendering so I hope we can get more [out of it]. The current gen consoles are really powerful, especially talking about Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. We’ll do our best to maximize for those, but it’s too early to say exactly what we can achieve – and the PC version will always be above that, because it’s constantly upgraded and improved in terms of the hardware we can gain access to. But it should look great on current consoles.”

If you have a PS4 Pro then you need not worry about it. The game will be coming to current generation consoles and will be optimized accordingly. At the E3 demo, the game was running on a PC powered by an Intel 8700K as well as an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti. It was a bit alarming that the game only ran at 30 FPS but then again the game is still in development.

The final version of the game will be better optimized and will be able to run at higher FPS. The version that we saw at E3 2018 is mostly like alpha or beta. Keeping in mind that we did not get a release date for the game, it is possible that the game won’t be coming out for some time and that would not be surprising. Is that is indeed the case then the team has a lot of work pending.

This is CD Projekt RED that we are talking about here. I for one am confident that Cyberpunk 2077 will run fine on PC as well as console.
