Cyberpunk 2077 Is Now The Top Seller On Steam For The Seventh Consecutive Week

Domination continues.

As Shown by SteamDB and also spotted by Daniel Ahmed, a Senior Analyst at Niko Partners. Cyberpunk 2077 was once again the top seller on Steam, and this has been the case for the past six weeks.

Below Cyberpunk 2077 were different entries, but mostly it was dominated by Valve’s Index VR Kit, CSGO, Among Us, Sea of Thieves, and Hades. It is worth noting that nearly all these games except Cyberpunk 2077 are currently on Steam’s Winter Sale, which ends on January 5.

Cyberpunk 2077 Sales At The Top.

Although Cyberpunk 2077 has had its controversial moments across all platforms, the game is still doing well on PC. The primary reason being that unlike Consoles, it’s still somewhat playable, and for those who are into great story adventure games, Cyberpunk 2077 does not disappoint. Besides, the game is also getting a lot of attention from other magazines for various mods that have completely transformed its gameplay. If you also look at the Metacritic score, the PC Version has significantly higher scores than consoles. This has also put a good impression on potential buyers.

According to SteamDB, Cyberpunk 2077 was a top seller for the week ending on 22 November 2020. This resembles the sales for pre-orders because the game was later released on December 10. Note that these numbers are categorized by sales and total revenue, therefore Cyberpunk tops it. If we look at the number of copies sold, Cyberpunk ranks four below, Rust, Sea of Thieves, Hades, and CSGO. As of January, we don’t have new statistics regarding the pre-orders, but in December, on release day, CD Projekt IR informed everybody that 8 million pre-orders were placed, 74% were digital, and PC platform accounted for 59%. This can be somewhat narrowed because we also have GOG, where the game is slightly cheaper.

We will keep an eye out for how long Cyberpunk 2077 will dominate Steam. It broke several records for an offline game that was previously set by Fallout 4 on launch day.
