Why Elder Scrolls VI Was Announced So Early?

The Coolest Way To Close E3?

A teaser of Elder Scrolls VI was shown at E3 2018 and even though the game has been confirmed we also know that it is not going to be coming out for at least a few years. If that is the case then why has Elder Scrolls VI been announced so early? That is a valid question. VP of Marketing Pete Hines, talked about the matter and the following is what he had to say:

“A couple of years ago I talked to Todd [Howard] about clarifying with everybody that TES6 was not going to be our next game, and we had two other big games that we wanted to do first. So we had already put that out there several years ago, but we were very vague on what those other two titles were,”

This again confirms that while Elder Scrolls VI has been confirmed, it won’t be coming out any time soon because the company is working on other titles at the moment. Once those other games are released, only then will work on Elder Scrolls VI start. Pete Hines further went on to say:

“So it was just in conversations with him [and] folks on my team to say, look, why don’t we consider putting out a little bit more of a roadmap for the studio that explains to folks, ‘Here’s what we’re doing—yes, we’re making this game called Starfield and here’s what it is, and yes, we’re going to make Elder Scrolls 6, but we have these other two games to develop and make first.’ It’s just so that folks have a better sense of where we are and where we’re headed.

So there you have it folks. Elder Scrolls VI has been announced so that all of you know that the game will be coming out and when it will be coming out. While we have no release window for the game, we do know that Elder Scrolls VI will be coming out after the 2 other games are released. That should give you an idea of when you can expect to play Elder Scrolls VI. Maybe 2021, don’t quote me on that.
