Armored Core 6 makes a lot of changes to the franchise’s core mechanics, and one of them is the significance of melee combat and weapons. Melee weapons are essential for close-quarter combat and dealing with huge amounts of base and stagger damage. How To Unlock: Available in AC6 as a starting weapon.
Pulse Blade is not only one of the most balanced blades but also one of the best early weapons in Armored Core 6. It has a base damage of 963, which is amped up to 1586 on a charged strike. Additionally, its incredible range also helps in landing a lot of consecutive strikes.
The AC automatically performs a mini boost every time the melee attack button is pressed, allowing it to cover additional distance and land a guaranteed strike. It also has a decent impact damage, which also makes it a great choice for filling up the enemy’s stagger bar. While there are definitely weapons with better damage and range that unlock later on, Pulse Blade is definitely a viable option all the way to the endgame.

How To Unlock: Available at the garage for 339,000 COAM after completing the final mission of Chapter 3 in NG+.
Laser Slicer has one of the highest attack Attack Power in melee weapons, slightly below the Pile Bunker. It is the closest thing to a twin-blade in Armored Core 6 and even has similar animation to its soul-like counterparts.
Its charged attack also covers a decent range and is capable of hitting multiple enemies; however, the entries below are much better in terms of wide-range damage. Laser Slicer is overall a great single-target nuking blade that not only has cool melee animation but also has the damage to back it up as one of the best blades in Armored Core 6.
4. Vvc-770LB – Laser Blade

Attack Power | 1630 |
Impact | 1100 |
Accumulative Impact | 330 |
Consecutive Hits | 1 |

How To Unlock: Unlocked after completing Operation Wallclimber in Chapter 1. Laser Blade is available for 210,000 COAM in the garage.
Laser Blade easily carried most of my early to late game in Armored Core 6, and it was simply due to two reasons: absolutely incredible range and damage. Its charged attack is so wide and has damage so high that you can slice through heaps of enemy fodder mechs with low effort.
Its base and impact damage are also in the upper echelon of Armored Core 6 best sword and melee weapons. However, its only shortcoming was that its charged attack was kind of risky because if you missed, the entire attack animation left you vulnerable for quite a while; however, if you do land it, it results in high stagger and attack damage.
So it’s a high-risk, high-reward weapon, one that I definitely recommend checking out, especially in the early game.
3. IB-CO3W2: WLT 101 – Coral Oscillator

Attack Power | 1350 |

Accumulative Impact | 960 |

Direct Hit Adjustment | 210 |
PA Interference | 140 |

Weight | 2030 |
EN Load | 642 |
How To Unlock: After reaching Hunter Rank 15 and collecting all of the Battle Logs.
WLT 101 is the ultimate reward for players who collect all of the game’s battle logs, which automatically equates to doing everything that is available in Armored Core 6. Its melee attack deals 1350 base damage while covering a decent distance, which guarantees the strike.
What’s really cool about it is the charged attack. WLT 101 unleashes an extremely wide coral beam capable of exploding all the normal mechs in its vicinity. Additionally, its Charged Impact damage is also one of the highest in the melee category, which also makes it great for quickly filling up the stagger bar. However, its charged attack – while really cool to look at – is really slow, and it’s really difficult to hit fast-moving mechs, especially in PvP, with it.
Furthermore, the requirement for unlocking it also tanks its rating in my list because once you unlock it, you are pretty much done with all of the Armored Core 6 story, and the only thing left is the PvP component. You can for another playthrough; however, its stats in Armored Core 6 aren’t the kind that can one-shot everything.
2. IA-C01W7: ML-REDSHIFT – Coral Oscillator

Attack Power | 727 |
Impact | 530 |
Accumulative Impact | 530 |
Consecutive Hits | 2 |
Charge Attack Power | 1614 |
Charge Impact | 820 |
Charge Accumulative Impact | 820 |
Direct Hit Adjustment | 190 |
PA Interference | 126 |
Effective Range | 280 |
Cooling | 209 |
Weight | 2200 |
EN Load | 544 |
How To Unlock: Completing all arena challenges in NG+.
Both Redshift and the next entry on my list are very similar weapons in terms of moveset, but their differences go beyond just the change of color. Redshift beats Moonlight Blade in terms of base attack and impact damage. Aside from that, one of the stand-out features of Redshift is its ability to launch projectile attacks despite being a melee weapon.
Its normal attacks send waves of Corl energy while its charged attack unleashes a wide ark that wipes out anything that lays in its path. And despite being able to send ranged projectiles, it doesn’t consume any ammo, making it an extremely viable option for dealing ranged damage if you are low or melee ammunition.
1. IA-C01W2: MOONLIGHT – Light Wave Blade

Attack Power | 615 |
Impact | 495 |
Accumulative Impact | 495 |
Consecutive Hits | 2 |
Charge Attack Power | 2010 |
Charge Impact | 910 |
Charge Accumulative Impact | 910 |
Direct Hit Adjustment | 175 |
PA Interference | 112 |
Effective Range | 280 |
Cooling | 209 |
Weight | 2200 |
EN Load | 544 |
How To Unlock: Located in Chapter 4′s final mission, “Reach the Coral Convergence.” Available for a price of 270,000 COAM in the garage afterward.
Everything that is said about Redshift holds true for Moonlight Blade, except for the fact that it has a reputation and legacy to uphold. Moonlight swords are a recurring weapon in Fromsoftware games, and it’s safe to say that Moonlight Blade in Armored Core 6 does not disappoint.
While its attack damage and impact damage are slightly lower than Redshift, it easily beats it with a significantly higher Charged Attack, Impact, and Accumulated Impact damage. In simpler terms, Moonlight’s charged attack that unleashes a wide ark is way more lethal than its Coral sibling and is a way better option for crowd control or attacking a staggered elite enemy/boss.
Its legacy in the franchise, charged attack damage, and ranged battle prowess easily make it one of the Armored Core 6 best sword and blade.
That concludes my guide on the best sword and blade in Armored Core 6. Once you are done reading this, why not try out these swords on Armored Core 6’s toughest opponents like Ayre, Balteus, Juggernaut, and Cel 240?
