However, the main key differences are that the game is much more subtle in its approach. It is no longer a fast-paced hack n slash game. Kratos is much more laid-back in comparison to his rageful counterpart in previous entries and also has a son called Atreus.

God Of War 2018 excels in every department, whether it’s the heartfelt and cinema-like narrative or the much more grounded combat, as well as the Linear Open World mechanics to keep you hooked.

You play as Jin Sakai, who is a Samurai that survives the onslaught head-on against their leader, Khotun Khan. Jin is forced to retreat and choose other plans to fend the invasion off, soon becoming the Ghost Of Tsushima. You can travel the lands of the Island and take down various Mongol Outposts and discover other littered secrets.

The game is a visual treat for sore eyes as every locale and area in the game is brimming with beauty and gorgeous views. You will be spending countless hours tinkering around with the Photomode feature. Who knows, you might get a friend or two to join you in the Legends Multiplayer mode, which is completely free-to-play.

The game provides amazing beat-em-up combat full suited with Peter’s intuitive gadgets and tools to use at your disposal freely. The story is relatively short, but it manages to hook you in for a long ride while having some minor hiccups by switching the driving seat to some other characters in-between story missions.

Many iconic Villains from the universe appear and have spectacular boss fight sequences that are equally praise-worthy as the rest of the game. It runs astoundingly well thanks to the power of the PS5 and even more so now that it’s making headlines via the PC port.

The gameplay is the classic turn-based style but what makes it so captivating is the simplicity and exploration. Stray was released just recently and instantly became the talk of the industry with its adorable and wholesome adventure as players could finally play as a stray cat in a video game. The game surprisingly offers quite snappy and responsive controls when playing as the Cat. As you solve puzzles throughout the game, you will most likely stumble upon various secrets and collectibles such as the Digicodes and the Memories that you need to collect to learn more about the world.

The story is unique as it takes place in a dystopian world of Robots where Humans have seemingly gone extinct, and now you must solve the mystery behind their disappearance. The Ending of Stray will leave you with some bittersweet feelings but overall, it is a game that you wouldn’t want to miss at all. 

Pros:

• Stray is the perfect game for cat lovers as the protagonist is a very endearing cat.
• The graphics are incredible and look stunning.
• You can play as a cat and do everything a cat does, with an exclusive button that makes the cat meow.

• The protagonist of Stray is a cat and it does get hurt in the game, which may be disturbing for some cat lovers.

21. Uncharted 4

Hollow knight is one of the best adventure games. It is a true Hallmark not only in the indie genre but also in the whole gaming industry. The game is developed by only three people and offers more quality content than most Triple-A titles.

Hollow Knight provides one of the best adventures across its setting of Hallownest. You will find themes of Life and Death during your journey in the different areas of the world. Additionally, these locations are backed by dynamic soundtracks that further amplify the ambiance of this game.

You will also meet a lot of NPCs during your adventure; each of them will provide you with certain information about the game’s narrative. The combat in Hollow Knight is also well worth praising as it proves to be one of the smoothest combat systems. It is both simple to learn and satisfying to use.

Overall, Hollow Knight is a great game that offers hours of content through sheer adventure. You will discover many hidden places and paths connecting the masterfully designed map. The game deserves to be played at least once by everyone.

Before you even begin your chaotic adventures in the world, you will have the options to choose between the extensive Lifepaths in Cyberpunk 2077, which alter your prologue and V’s origins. Choose carefully as you can also get to witness a different side of Jackie Welles, V’s best friend and partner in crime.

Night City is filled to the brim with activities to do and gigs to hunt and complete. The customization options are endless, as you can go from equipping Legendary Armor to grinding and purchasing Skills to boost your combat potential in the game.

17. The Last Of Us 1 And 2

The first Last Of Us game launched back in 2013 on the PlayStation 3 and instantly became one of the best storytelling adventure games of all time.

Fighting their way through hordes of zombies and soldiers. This ultimately ties in coherently with the 2nd game, in the sense that both end up providing one of the most heartfelt and grueling story moments in a video game.

The Third Person action combat will keep you engaged and on your toes, as you can find numerous ways to take down your foes with either stealth or guns blazing. Further tweaks were made in TLOU2 as the combat has much more depth and variety as well as the level design is more open-ended. The remake of the first game is set to release in March of 2023 that will revamp a lot of its core ideas to fit with the 2nd game’s design philosophy.

 It Takes Two is developed by Hazelight Studios, the team led by the creative and enthusiastic Josef Fares, who was responsible for releasing more co-op games previously, like A Way Out. ITT ended up winning numerous awards and most importantly, the 2021 Game Of The Year award which was a huge surprise in the industry

The storytelling and premise are quite wholesome and adventurous as you and your co-op friend are set on a collision course to fix the relationship status between two spouses, Cody and May. They are both transformed as dolls, and now you must navigate through various bizarre and eerie levels to overcome the odds.

The game pays heavy homage to almost every single platformer game out there as well as mixing up elements taken from completely different games to spice up the almost jaw-dropping set-pieces. It is one of the best and perfect games that everyone should play soon enough with their friends or loved ones.

Pros:

• It Takes Two is a co-op game, which means it may be played in split-screen mode with a friend or family member.
• It Takes Two is an outstanding level design, with each level having its own set of challenges and obstacles.

Players once again reprise the role of the heroic Lombax, Ratchet, and his sidekick robot, Clank, as they are thrust into a chaotic interdimensional crash course that brings them face-to-face with a new character, Rivet, another Lombax like Ratchet, as they fight together to save their Worlds from a new threat.

The game was one of the few titles dropped shortly after the PS5’s release, and it is safe to say that it jaw-dropped the player base with the new Rift Aspects. The game can render multiple levels in a matter of mere seconds thanks to the power of the console itself and the technological advancement by Insomniac Games. It is one of the best platformer action games for PS5 users.

• The ability to travel between different dimensions adds an extra layer of depth to the gameplay and allows for a larger, more varied game world.
• Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart features haptic feedback controls that increase the immersive experience a lot.
• A new character called Rivet adds a fresh perspective to the story and gameplay.
• Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart has some very impressive graphics.

• You might experience very rare freezing while playing.

14. Knights Of The Old Republic

The game opens up with your custom-created character aboard the Republic fleet, repelling a Sith invasion. Later on, players will become Jedis themselves to aid another fellow Jedi Master on your journey, Bastilla, to help her defeat Darth Malak, Lord of the Sith and restore peace to the Galaxy.

KOTOR is as good as it gets because without spoiling anything, the game will hit you with one of the coolest and most mind-blowing twists that will heavily impact the story and your main character’s traits. Venturing to the various planets from the Star Wars universe is both enjoyable and fun as the gameplay is richly complex with branching dialogue options to watch out for and party members to keep in check during combat.

13. Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice

Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice is a uniquely crafted game that exemplifies the themes that Video Games will rarely touch such as Mental Illness, further branching out into Psychosis, dread, and crippling anxiety. It embodies the Protagonist, Senua in such a compelling way that it ultimately leads her to a downfall and broken state of mind.

The game primarily focuses on a Third Person Linear Adventure about the character’s journey. The game isn’t too long that you will need to invest several hours as most can finish it under roughly 10 hours. The storytelling design can be a hit or miss because of how it visualizes Senua’s declining state as the main plot device.

But if given a proper chance to shine, you will adore every bit of your time in the game, and you may even get excited at the thought of the sequel, Senua’s Saga, which is set to release soon in the coming years.

RGG Games took a major risk by overhauling the Yakuza series to try new ideas to refresh the state and entice newer audiences to it. It all paid off with Yakuza Like a Dragon, which is now a turn-based JRPG in contrast to the traditional brawler style, which was more or less, shifted doe the Judgment Spin-off games in their line-up.

The game introduces a brand new location to explore as its main setting which is the City of Yokohama, Injincho which is larger in comparison to the classic City of Kamurucho. The game beautifully passes the torch of the protagonist role from Kazuma Kiryu to Kasuga Ichiban, as shown by his eccentric development and energetic personality in just a single game.

Like A Dragon maintains the quirks of the series that made it famous in the first place of being comical while still being a serious crime-action drama on the narrative side. Now that the sequel is confirmed to be in development, there is no better time to witness the rise from rock bottom of Ichiban and his friends in the best and most ambitious adventure game designed by RGG Studios.

• Like A Dragon’s aesthetic is very visually pleasing and unique.

Among a few things, Yokohama is a returning location from Yakuza Like A Dragon, where the game primarily takes place while still shifting places in Kamurucho during a few chapters. LJ features the most controversial and darkest narrative thus far by RGG as players will investigate sexual harassment that holes more than the eye can see, leading you down a rabbit hole of twists and turns, tackling topics such as bullying and suicide.
