The following Elden Ring weapons list is based on my personal choice. You might find some other weapons in Elden Ring better than these, which is okay. This is because the choice varies from player to player. For each weapon, I will mention how it performs in combat and what its skill is. Furthermore, I will also talk about how you can acquire it. Some of these weapons can be infused with Ashes of War, while most can be upgraded using Smithing Stones by going to the Blacksmith.
So, without any further due, let’s take a look at the best weapons in Elden Ring.
1. Eleonora’s Poleblade
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 72 | 33 |
Magic | 0 | 23 |
Fire | 72 | 47 |
Light | 0 | 23 |
Holy | 0 | 23 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 28 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | E | 12 |
Dexterity | D | 21 |
Arcane | D | 19 |
Eleonora’s Poleblade is a potent arcane weapon in Elden Ring that thrives on Dexterity and Arcane stats.
Completing Yura’s quest line yields rewards like the Nagakiba and Ronin armor set. However, acquiring Eleonora’s Poleblade is straightforward: defeat Eleonora at the Second Church of Marika, and you’ll receive the twinblade.
2. Twinned Knight Swords
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 122 | 47 |
Magic | 0 | 31 |
Fire | 0 | 31 |
Light | 0 | 31 |
Holy | 0 | 31 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 31 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 16 |
Dexterity | E | 18 |
The Twinned Knight Swords are another exceptional twinblade weapon in Elden Ring, well-suited for twinblade users and Dexterity-focused builds. What sets the Twinned Knight Swords apart is their impressive bleed buildup. With a blood Ashes of War infusion and max upgrades, they achieve a remarkable 100 Bleed buildup.
Acquiring the Twinned Knight Swords is relatively straightforward. Visit the East Windmill Pasture in the Altus Plateau, where you’ll find a pile of burning corpses containing the twinblades. Here’s an image for reference.
3. Ruins Greatsword
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 124 | 82 |
Magic | 37 | 56 |
Fire | 0 | 50 |
Light | 0 | 50 |
Holy | 0 | 50 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 56 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | B | 50 |
Intelligence | E | 16 |
The Ruins Greatsword is one of the top-tier greatswords weapons in Elden Ring that deals massive physical damage and decent magic damage as well. The weapon comes with unique Ash of War; The Wave of Destruction, the Ruins Greatsword’s Weapon Art, deals massive gravity damage to nearby enemies and is basically an AoE attack instead of a direct one-to-one attack.
4. Prelate’s Inferno Crozier
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 156 | 82 |
Magic | 0 | 49 |
Fire | 0 | 49 |
Light | 0 | 49 |
Holy | 0 | 49 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 55 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | C | 45 |
Dexterity | E | 8 |
The Prelate’s Inferno Crozier is one of the top-tier strength and dexterity weapons in Elden Ring, and it scales great with these two stats. I love using Prelate’s Inferno Crozier power stance with another colossal weapon in combination to deal the highest damage easily achieved by doing powerstancing jump attacks.
Prelate’s Inferno Crozier also comes with a unique Ash of War from the get-go. The Prelate’s Charge, unique Ashe of war for this weapon, allows the wielder to slam the weapon into the ground and make a short flame pool that can be further charged towards a target. If you press and hold L2/LT, your character will charge in with the weapon while leaving a flame trail in its wake.
If you are aiming particularly for this Ash, then I recommend you use any other Great Hammer, Greataxe, etc. which allow the change of Ash of war.
5. Blasphemous Blade
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 121 | 72 |
Magic | 0 | 39 |
Fire | 78 | 54 |
Light | 0 | 39 |
Holy | 0 | 39 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 50 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 22 |
Dexterity | D | 15 |
Faith | D | 21 |
Blasphemous Blade in Elden Ring gained popularity after the Vampire build, which basically steals enemies’ health and replenishes your lost health. If you are running with a faith build and have decent character attributes for Strength and Dexterity, then you should definitely read my Elden Ring Vampire build guide and start sucking the enemy’s health for good.
Besides stealing HP on enemies, another aspect that makes Blasphemous Blade one of the best weapons in Elden Ring is its unique Ash of War. You cannot change the default Ashes of War that come with the Blasphemous Blade, and this greatsword also cannot be infused or enchanted by various incantations.
6. Dark Moon Greatsword
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 82 | 57 |
Magic | 98 | 63 |
Fire | 0 | 31 |
Light | 0 | 31 |
Holy | 0 | 31 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 44 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 16 |
Dexterity | D | 11 |
Intelligence | C | 38 |
The Dark Moon Greatsword is a recurring weapon that you can see in previous Dark Souls games and even in Bloodborne. In previous games, this intelligence-based magic greatsword has also been named Moonlight Greatsword, but in Elden Ring, the weapon is renamed to Dark Moon Greatsword. Also, the Ash of War on this greatsword is named Moonlight Greatsword.
However, if you upgrade this weapon via visiting the Blacksmith, you’d need Somber Smithing Stones, and at +10 level, the Dark Moon Greatsword gets B-scaling in Intelligence and D-scaling in Strength and Dexterity.
If you are having trouble in the questline and want to carry a Frostbite build, then I recommend the Death’s Poker to use in the meantime.
7. Sacred Relic Sword
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 118 | 62 |
Magic | 0 | 33 |
Fire | 0 | 33 |
Light | 0 | 33 |
Holy | 76 | 45 |
Critical/ Boost | 110 | 42 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | E | 14 |
Dexterity | D | 24 |
Faith | D | 22 |
The Sacred Relic Sword is a greatsword that is the last boss weapon in Elden Ring. If you had to pick a greatsword that scales with Dexterity and Faith character attributes, the Sacred Relic Sword is the best weapon in Elden Ring under the said category.
Even though the weapon has a higher dexterity requirement, if you level up your Faith scaling, you will do more damage from the weapon’s Ash of War; however, since this is a boss weapon, you will need the Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade it from Blacksmith.
8. Ghiza’s Wheel
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 156 | 73 |
Magic | 0 | 43 |
Fire | 0 | 43 |
Light | 0 | 43 |
Holy | 0 | 43 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 48 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 28 |
Dexterity | D | 18 |
If you had to pick a melee build weapon that offers heavy blood loss and deals a tremendous amount of damage by consuming the FP, then Ghiza’s Wheel will be the best weapon in Elden Ring for that category.
Ghiza’s Wheel is a colossal weapon in the game and requires you to have at least 28 Strength and 18 Dexterity character attributes to wield the weapon in Elden Ring properly. The weapon also has a 70 bleed passive effect, which builds up blood loss much faster than most bleed weapons in the game.
9. Maliketh’s Black Blade
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 127 | 68 |
Magic | 0 | 36 |
Fire | 0 | 36 |
Light | 0 | 36 |
Holy | 82 | 49 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 55 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 34 |
Dexterity | E | 12 |
Faith | D | 20 |
The Maliketh’s Black Blade is an excellent Strength and Faith hybrid build weapon that scales mainly with Strength and Faith character attributes. If you are running with a Paladin build in Elden Ring, then using this best weapon in Elden Ring during late game would probably be a great idea for your hybrid build.
Since Maliketh’s Black Blade is a boss weapon, you will need the Somber Smithing Stones to upgrade the weapon from Blacksmith. Taking this weapon’s level up to +10 will give you B-scaling on Strength and Faith and D-scaling on Dexterity, entailing that this is a decent weapon for STR/FTH hybrid builds in Elden Ring.
10. Giant-Crusher
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 155 | 88 |
Magic | 0 | 52 |
Fire | 0 | 52 |
Light | 0 | 52 |
Holy | 0 | 52 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 58 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | C | 60 |
The Giant-Crusher is a colossal weapon in the game, and if you were to look for the best weapon in Elden Ring with hammers in particular, then this is the perfect armament for you.
Additionally, the best part about wielding this colossal weapon is infusing it with various Ashes of War and buffing the overall damage. So, if you’re a magic user of decent Faith and Arcane leveling, you can use various incantations to increase the base damage.
Essentially, if you infuse some buffs on the Giant-Crusher, you will not only be dealing physical damage but also magic, fire, bleed, poison, lightning, holy, and more, depending on the buff type you apply.
11. Twinblade
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 119 | 45 |
Magic | 0 | 30 |
Fire | 0 | 30 |
Light | 0 | 30 |
Holy | 0 | 30 |
Critical/Boost | 100 | 30 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 10 |
Dexterity | D | 18 |
The first weapon on my list is the Twinblade. This is a deadly sword (Read Elden Ring Best Swords) with blades on both sides. The best part about the Twinblade is that it is an early-game weapon, meaning you won’t have to worry about progressing through the story to get it.
The Twinblade can deal 119 Physical damage. It has a skill called Spinning Slash, which allows the user to spin two times and attack its targets in the process. This skill can prove useful when fighting against a group of enemies or when you’re pushed to a corner.
12. Great Epee
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 124 | 52 |
Magic | 0 | 36 |
Fire | 0 | 36 |
Light | 0 | 36 |
Holy | 0 | 36 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 31 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 15 |
Dexterity | D | 16 |
Next, I have the Great Epee. This is a Heavy Thrusting Sword that hits hard. Because of this, it can deal a lot of damage with its attacks. Even though it is a heavy weapon, you can still use it with a shield. Therefore, you won’t have to worry about defense while using this weapon.
The skill offered by this weapon is called Implaing Thrust. You can use this skill to charge forward at your target and perform a powerful attack that can pierce through their armor.
If you want a more stronger Thrusting sword with better scalings and dmg output, then I suggest the Godskin Stitcher. It weighs only 0.5 more but provides more dmg.
13. Greataxe
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 151 | 69 |
Magic | 0 | 37 |
Fire | 0 | 37 |
Light | 0 | 37 |
Holy | 0 | 37 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 45 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 30 |
Dexterity | D | 8 |
The Greataxe is yet another powerful weapon in my best weapons list that you should get. It packs a great punch and can deliver powerful blows to the enemy.
The Greataxe’s skill is called Barbaric Roar, through which you can perform a mighty shout that will increase your overall attack power. Furthermore, it will also transform regular attacks into savage attacks, thus allowing you to become a beast in combat.
To get the Greataxe, you must first go to Limgrave near Waypoint Ruins and look around for a carriage escorted by two giant Trolls. You will need to take down the Trolls and other enemies nearby. Then, go to the carriage and open the chest inside it to get the weapon.
14. Gargoyle’s Blackblade
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 102 | 60 |
Magic | 0 | 33 |
Fire | 0 | 33 |
Light | 0 | 33 |
Holy | 122 | 66 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 46 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 18 |
Dexterity | E | 10 |
Faith | D | 22 |
Greatswords are one of my favorite weapons, and the Gargoyle’s Blackblade is easily one of the best in Elden Ring. It can deal a decent amount of damage with each hit, and you can use it against multiple types of enemies. If you want to boost the overall stats of this weapon, then you will need to focus on increasing your character’s Faith, Strength, and Dexterity.
Its skill, Corpse Wax Cutter, is pretty impressive as it lets you launch a red wave towards the target, therefore, it can also act as a ranged weapon.
15. Clayman’s Harpoon
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 99 | 49 |
Magic | 64 | 38 |
Fire | 0 | 25 |
Light | 0 | 25 |
Holy | 0 | 25 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 33 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 12 |
Dexterity | E | 10 |
Intelligence | D | 12 |
The Clayman’s Harpoon is the first Spear in my best weapons list. For those who don’t know, Spears are meant to help you engage in melee combat while keeping you at a safe distance. This makes them one of the best melee weapons in Elden Ring.
Just like the Great Epee, this weapon also offers the Implaing Thrust. Thanks to it, you can launch an attack that can pierce through the enemy’s armor. Furthermore, it can also break their defense so that you can perform more attacks on them.
For more Int focused spear and better physical dmg, you can use the Crystal spear Instead. It has better scalings but requires more stats to wield and weighs the same but can not be buffed.
16. Erdsteel Dagger
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 67 | 36 |
Magic | 0 | 21 |
Fire | 0 | 21 |
Light | 0 | 21 |
Holy | 0 | 21 |
Critical/ Boost | 110 | 15 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 7 |
Dexterity | D | 12 |
Faith | D | 14 |
Daggers in Elden Ring are something that you should use when you’re up close and personal with an enemy. They have the shortest range among all weapons in the game. However, their short range can be overlooked with their attack speed, as they let you stab your enemies quickly. Furthermore, their Critical strikes are also deadly. As for the Erdsteel Dagger, it is one of the best Daggers in Elden Ring.
This weapon goes well with the Vagabond class in Elden Ring, as it scales with Strength and Dexterity. As for its skill, it’s called Quickstep. You can quickly reposition yourself and avoid getting attacked by the enemy.
17. Eclipse Shotel
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 77 | 35 |
Magic | 0 | 25 |
Fire | 0 | 25 |
Light | 0 | 25 |
Holy | 77 | 50 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 25 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | E | 10 |
Dexterity | D | 25 |
Faith | D | 30 |
The Eclipse Shotel is a curved sword that can help you quickly land attacks on your target. Curved swords are faster than most of the other weapon types, and they can deal a good amount of damage within a short period. Its skill is called Death Flare, and thanks to it, you can inflict death ailment on your targets. Furthermore, you can also create an explosion by using this skill.
To get your hands on this Curved Sword, you must visit Castle Sol. There, you’ll be able to find the weapon at the church’s altar. This area can be found in the southeast part of Castle Sol. Remember that you’ll encounter many formidable enemies in this castle, so ensure you’re prepared.
18. Crystal Knife
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 82 | 32 |
Magic | 53 | 31 |
Fire | 0 | 18 |
Light | 0 | 18 |
Holy | 0 | 18 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 15 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 8 |
Dexterity | D | 12 |
Intelligence | D | 9 |
The Crystal Knife is another Dagger in Elden Ring that you can trust in close-range combat. It can perform quick attacks and can prove to be a lethal weapon.
It also uses the same skill as the previous Dagger I mentioned, Quickstep. Thanks to it, you can reposition yourself quickly in combat and find a better position to attack your target. Or, you can use it to rapidly move out of the way of incoming attacks.
You must visit the Raya Lucaria Crystal Tunnel for the Crystal Knife in Elden Ring. From there, you will have to go three levels down and defeat all the Marionettes you’ll face there. Then, look around for a chest, and you’ll find the Crystal Knife inside it.
19. Cranial Vessel Candlestand
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 98 | 71 |
Magic | 0 | 37 |
Fire | 98 | 51 |
Light | 0 | 37 |
Holy | 0 | 37 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 48 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 26 |
Dexterity | E | 8 |
Faith | D | 22 |
What makes the Carnial Vessel Candlestand one of the best weapons in Elden Ring is its ability to deal a good amount of Fire damage and physical damage. If not enough, you can use its Surge of Faith skill to rain down fireballs on your targets.
The fireballs can deal a lot of damage and help you weaken your enemies before you start attacking them with your weapon.
To get this weapon, you must visit the Mountaintops of the Giants and make your way to the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave again. From there, look around for an Imp Statue in a large hall. The weapon will be on a corpse who is locked behind this statue.
20. Fallingstar Beast Jaw
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 131 | 70 |
Magic | 85 | 55 |
Fire | 0 | 43 |
Light | 0 | 43 |
Holy | 0 | 43 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 50 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 34 |
Dexterity | D | 12 |
Intelligence | E | 20 |
It’s effective against tough enemies. Its skill, Gravity Bolt, calls down lightning for good damage. You can obtain it at Mt. Gelmir by defeating the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast boss.
21. Death Ritual Spear
Death Ritual Spear is yet another weapon that can help you attack your enemy while staying at a safe distance. This Spear pairs well with Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. You’ll need to increase these if you want to make the Death Ritual Spear more powerful.
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 99 | 54 |
Magic | 64 | 42 |
Fire | 0 | 27 |
Light | 0 | 27 |
Holy | 0 | 27 |
Critical/ Boost | 110 | 36 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | E | 14 |
Dexterity | D | 20 |
Intelligence | D | 18 |
Its skill is called Spearcall Ritual, and it can help you rain down spectral spears on your targets. This skill is ideal for times when you’re fighting against a group of enemies.
You must find and take down the Death Rite Bird to get your hands on the Death Ritual Spear. This boss can be found in multiple locations, but you should try looking for him in the Mountaintops of the Giants first. After you take him down, you can pick up the Death Ritual Spear from its corpse.
22. Nagakiba
Stats | Attack | Guard |
Physical | 115 | 49 |
Magic | 0 | 33 |
Fire | 0 | 33 |
Light | 0 | 33 |
Holy | 0 | 33 |
Critical/ Boost | 100 | 33 |
Stats | Scaling | Requirements |
Strength | D | 18 |
Dexterity | C | 22 |
The Nagakiba is a powerful Katana in Elden Ring that can deal great damage with each attack. The weapon can be improved by leveling up Dexterity and Strength stats. The Nagakiba can be used in mid-range combat and perform both Thrust and Slash attacks.
Its skill, Piercing Fang, allows you to perform a powerful thrust attack that the enemy can not block. No matter how good the enemy’s defense is, the skill will make sure to break it. You must complete the Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline to get your hands on this Katana.
If you are facing difficulty in getting Nagakiba, you can always go for Uchigatana, which is best early-game katana and deals better damage.

Similar Weapons To Consider
I excluded several other excellent choices for the Best Weapons In Elden Ring from my top 50 list due to some individual factors:
- Uchigatana: A versatile weapon with high Dexterity scaling, bleed buildup, and infusion options with Ashes of War.
- Brick Hammer: Despite its high damage, the clunky moveset and steep strength requirement limit its effectiveness.
- Broadsword: A good option, but it has a slightly shorter range than the other weapons I selected above.
- Godskin Peeler: Although it is a solid pick, its base damage is relatively low compared to other Twinblades.
- Hand Of Malenia: Undoubtedly one of the strongest dexterity weapons in the game, but obtaining it can be challenging.
My Tips
I’ve constantly seen the meta for PvP and PvE shift since release until the latest patch, 1.10. For PvE in this patch, I’d personally recommend using Faith-based boss weapons, specifically the Maliketh’s Black Blade or the Blasphemous Blade, since their Ashes of War are unmatched.
Maliketh’s Black Blade favors pure aggression thanks to its damage-heavy Ash of War, while the Blasphemous Blade has incredible range and damage and can greatly recover your HP. For PvE, I’d recommend going for Powerstancing Great Spears, specifically Mohgwyn’s Sacred Spear and Vyke’s War Spear, because of their potent individual stats and Ashes of War.
That wraps up my extensive guide on the best weapons in Elden Ring and my personal recommendations according to the meta. It’s worth mentioning that each new update brings substantial weapon changes, where some weapons receive noteworthy buffs or nerfs. As such, keep yourself updated with the patch notes to see which weapons Elden Ring is currently favoring.
