Warframe is a free-to-play multiplayer online shooter game developed by Digital Extremes. Being a shooter title, the game allows players to choose from a wide range of different weapons. Each weapon has its advantages and disadvantages, and some of them even come with unique features. Earlier, we wrote Warframe Weapon Tier List, ranking all weapons from best to worst. But today, we will talk about a handful of secondary weapons to help you select the right ones.

Warframe’s Best Secondary Weapons

The following list is based on our personal choice. You might find some other weapons better than these ones and that is okay. This is because the choice varies from player to player.

Synoid Gammacor

The first weapon that we would like to mention in our secondary weapons list is the Synoid Gammacor. Capable of dealing Magnetic damage to its enemies, the Synoid Gammacor offers high critical chance and status chance.

Furthermore, its accuracy is amazing, so you won’t have to worry about missing any of your shots with this weapon in your hands. The most interesting thing about it is that unlike most of the other secondary weapons present in the game, this one appears as a gauntlet on the arm of the user. 

Mara Detron

Next up, we have a mini-shotgun called Mara Detron. This is yet another weapon that offers a high-status chance along with good accuracy. It can store a total of eight bullets in its magazine, which sounds fairly low. However, since the weapon has a quick reload speed, the magazine size won’t bother you that much.

The biggest downside about this weapon is its slow rate of fire. Furthermore, its critical chance is also fairly low. But in close-range scenarios, it can help you destroy your enemy.

Kuva Seer

The Kuva Seer is the Kuva version of the original Seer pistol. However, this one has a better critical chance, fire rate, status chance, and reload speed.

Although its ammo reserve is lower than the original, you won’t notice this with all the other benefits and improvements. The Kuva Seer also happens to work well against armor and its bullets can pierce through it. 

Prisma Twin Gremlins

The first dual pistol on our list is the Prisma Twin Gremlins. The duo offers an auto-fire mechanism and can store 70 bullets in its magazine. Therefore, you won’t have to worry about reloading them again and again.

The critical chance and status chance of the weapon is amazing, and its accuracy is also high. However, this is only when the sights are aimed down. With hipfire, the accuracy is poor. 

Zymos

The Zymos is yet another weapon on our list that is super effective against armor and shields. This is because it fires explosive spores that first stun the target and then explode if you manage to land a headshot.

After the explosion, 6 additional spores are released that target nearby enemies. The weapon has a high-status chance but its fire rate and reload speed both are slow. 

Akstiletto Prime

The Akstiletto Prime is another combo of pistols on our list. This set offers a full-auto mechanism and is perfect in every way. For those wondering, it is the Prime variant of the Aksteiletto dual. But this set offers a much better status chance, critical multiplier, magazine capacity, and much more.

Furthermore, it also deals more damage than the regular version. However, its fire rate and critical chance are somewhat lower than it. There aren’t many disadvantages with the Akstiletto Prime, only that it won’t work that well against armor and shields.

Tenet Detron

The Tenet Detron is yet another variant of the Detron on our list. It is a mini-shotgun and can hold 6 bullets in its magazine. Compared to the other variants present in the game, the Tenet Detron offers a better critical chance, critical multiplier, and status chance.

Its accuracy is also much better than the Mara Detron. Overall, it is an amazing weapon with fast reload speed and amazing accuracy. 

Magnus Prime

The Magnus Prime, compared to the regular Magnus, offers a higher critical chance, critical multiplier, and status chance. Furthermore, its reload speed is much better than the regular variant. Its base damage is 76 and it can store 8 bullets in its magazine.

The most interesting thing about the Magnus Prime is that if you keep on landing accurate shots on your target with it, then you might receive infinite ammo for it, but this will last only for a few seconds. 

Sepulcrum

The Sepulcrum is easily one of the coolest-looking weapons on our list. It offers a burst mechanism and can store 90 bullets in its magazine, which is a lot. Thanks to it, you won’t have to worry about the magazine getting empty after every few seconds.

Furthermore, the Sepulcrum works well against armor and shields. Another amazing thing about the Sepulcrum is its alternative mode. The weapon charges as you perform kills and it then switches to its alternate fire mode through which it can fire missiles. This can help you target multiple enemies at once. 

Velox

The Velox is yet another pistol on our list that offers a full-auto mechanism. It stores a total of 62 bullets in its magazine, something that won’t make you reload the clip again and again.

While its reload speed is great, it becomes better if the magazine is empty. Therefore, make sure to reload only when you’re out of bullets to get the most out of it. Overall, the Velox is a decent secondary weapon with an amazing rate of fire.

Zakti Prime

As its name suggests, the Zakti Prime is the Prime variant of the Zakti pistol with a better critical chance, critical multiplier, and status chance.

Furthermore, the Prime version has an increased magazine size and explosion radius. The weapon is capable of firing darts that can explode upon impact. They also happen to work well against armor and shields. Its reload speed is also quick.

Tenet Spirex

The Tenet Spirex is the kind of pistol that can completely annihilate the target as it can fire explosive projectiles. Its critical chance and status chance are extremely high.

The most interesting thing about the Tenet Spirex is that if you land a headshot with it, then the weapon receives a buff called Bullseye Reload something that increases its reload speed by 25%. If you land another headshot, then the reload speed is increased by 50%. This lasts for a total of four seconds, but the duration can be increased by landing more headshots. 

Catabolyst

Out of all the best secondary Warframe weapons, the Catabolyst has the most unique feature. When reloading, the weapon’s clip is thrown like a grenade that explodes on impact and deals damage to anyone caught inside the explosion’s radius.

As for the weapon itself, it fires a beam that can deal a lot of damage to its target. The Catabolyst also has a high critical chance and high critical multiplier. Furthermore, its reload speed is quick while its rate of fire is high. 

Aksomati Prime

The Aksomati Prime is one of the most used secondary weapons in Warframe because of many reasons. It is a Prime variant of the Aksomati dual pistols that feature an auto-mechanism.

The Prime variant can store 80 bullets in its magazine and offers a high-status chance, fire rate, and accuracy. Furthermore, its damage output is also significantly better along with the magazine size. Overall, the weapon is amazing and it won’t let you down.

Pandero Prime

Being a Primed variant of the Pandero semi-automatic pistol, the Pandero Prime offers a high-status chance, critical chance, and critical multiplier. Furthermore, its reload speed is also fast and better than most of the other secondary weapons present in the game.

The Pandero Prime also happens to have an alternate fire mode that ends up shooting all the remaining bullets in the magazine in a quick burst. Its downside is its low magazine capacity, which is a total of 8 bullets. Furthermore, it’s not the kind of weapon that will help you against shields and armor. 

Sporelacer

The Sporelacer is a Kitgun Shotgun that can be used as both a primary weapon and a secondary weapon. However, it functions differently in both scenarios.

For instance, when used as a primary weapon, the Sporelacer offers a full-auto mode. But in the secondary slot, it works like a semi-automatic shotgun. Overall, it is a great weapon that is perfect for close-range scenarios. 

Tenet Diplos

Next up on our list is the Tenet Diplos, a duo of automatic pistols that are extremely deadly. The weapon has a magazine size of 92 bullets and its rounds work well against both armor and shields.

Furthermore, the Tenet Diplos has an aimed fire mode that locks on to 8 enemies at once and fires directly at them. Euphona Prime

The Euphona Prime is my personal favorite shotgun sidearm because of its two firing modes. The first mode lets the weapon fire a slug that can reach a great distance, thus making it ideal for long-range scenarios. As for the second mode, its spread is wider which makes it ideal for close-ranged scenarios.

Therefore, with the touch of a button, you can transform this weapon into something that suits the situation. Furthermore, as it’s a shotgun, its rounds are effective against shields and armor. Its accuracy is also amazing, but only when aiming.

Athodai

The Athodai is easily one of the most powerful secondary weapons in Warframe because of different reasons. It is a hand cannon that can fire powerful beams towards its targets. However, the thing which makes this weapon a solid choice is a feature that increases the fire rate of the weapon if the user manages to land a headshot with it.

Furthermore, you’ll also get to enjoy infinite ammo if you get a headshot. The Athodai also has an alternate fire mode, which becomes unavailable when you’re enjoying the perks of landing a headshot. Overall, the weapon is amazing and there isn’t any reason why you shouldn’t give it a try. 

Kuva Twin Stubbas

Another pair of full-auto pistols that we would like to mention is the Kuva Twin Stubbas. The weapon happens to be the biggest one in terms of magazine size on our list as it can store 114 bullets. Furthermore, it offers high slash and impact damage, meaning that it works well against shields and health.

The Kuva Twin Stubbas have a good fire rate and offer amazing accuracy so that you don’t miss any of your shots. Overall, it is easily one of the best sidearms to use in Warframe and you should definitely give it a shot. 

Kuva Brakk

The Kuva Brakk is the Kuva version of the Brakk shotgun sidearm. This variant offers a much better status chance and critical chance. In fact, it offers the highest status chance among all secondary shotguns available in the game. Furthermore, its fire rate is also better than the regular variant and it can store more bullets in its magazine than it.

Since it offers high-impact damage, the Kuva Brakk is a weapon you can trust against shields. Its fast reload speed and high damage output makes it one of the deadliest best secondary Warframe weapons. The only downside about this weapon is its high recoil, but that won’t matter much once you learn how to control it. 

Tenet Cycron

The original Cycron pistol deals Radiation damage, but this Tenet version of it deals Heat damage instead. In addition to this, this variant offers a better critical chance and status chance.

The critical chance it offers is the third-highest among all secondary weapons in Warframe. In addition to this, it also does more damage than the regular variant. The Tenet Cycron fires a powerful beam and its pint point accuracy helps you land it accurately on the target. The beam also has the ability to chain between a total of two enemies.

Epitaph

The Epitaph is easily the coolest-looking sidearm on our secondary weapons list. It is a wrist-mounted sidearm that can fire explosive slabs. As it can do impact damage as well, the weapon can easily destroy shields. It can fire both charged and uncharged shots, with both having their own advantages.

For instance, uncharged shots have guaranteed Cold proc and can explode in an 8-meter radius. As for charged shots, they offer the highest critical chance. Overall, the Epitaph is a strong weapon that can help you take down even the toughest of opponents. 

Pyrana Prime

Being a Prime variant of the Pyrana shotgun sidearm, the Pyrana Prime offers high critical status, a longer range, and increased clip size. However, the Prime Variant might have its own advantages but they come at the cost of slow fire rate and decreased damage. Despite this, the weapon is still one of the best sidearms to use in the game. It has an excellent reload speed and a high critical chance.

The most interesting thing about this weapon is that after you perform three quick kills with it, you get an ethereal Pyrana in your other hand that stays for a couple of seconds. Overall, the Pyrana Prime is an excellent sidearm for close-range combat.

Kuva Nukor

Finally, we have the Kuva Nukor. This weapon is considered the best secondary weapon in Warframe by many. This is mainly because it offers the highest critical multiplier in the entire game, combined with pinpoint accuracy and decent damage per shot.

Just like the Tenet Cycron, the beam fired from the Kuva Nukor can also chain between multiple enemies. And for those wondering what is the best dps secondary weapon in Warframe, it is the Kuva Nukor. Overall, there isn’t any secondary weapon that can come close to this one. Therefore, there isn’t any reason why you shouldn’t try it.
