For as long as video games have existed, the stealth genre has always been quite popular. Sneaking around and taking down enemies without even being noticed just has an unexplainable thrill to it. From the likes of the Metal Gear Solid series to the survival horror games like Alien: Isolation, here are some of the best stealth games on the PS5!
It is worth noting that the games on this list are just a few of the most popular stealth games out there. There are many amazing games out there, and because one of those didn’t make it on the list, it doesn’t mean they’re not just as good! With that said, let’s get on with the list!
The Last Of Us Part 2
|Our Ranking||1st Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won the most Game of the Year Awards|
|Release Date||June 19, 2020|
|Developers & Publishers||Naughty Dog|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, stealth|
Starting off with one of the well-known games, The Last of Us Part 2. It is a sequel to the original The Last of Us and follows Joel and Ellie years after the events of the previous game.
A Plot About Hatred
Where the first game was all about the bonds between humans and a focus on the depressing sides of a post-apocalyptic world, The Last of Us Part 2 focuses on a story all about revenge and hatred. You play as Ellie as she goes on a vengeance mission against the Fireflies while exploring her relations with some of her new friends, like Dina, and old friends, such as an uncle-figure, Thomas, from the previous game.
But besides just a compelling story, the game is known for its amazing stealth mechanics. There is a certain weight to all of your actions. The combat is improved, and even the stealth. From tall grass to many objects around the map, you’ll always have a place to hide.
Unlike the previous game, you have the ability to create silencers for your guns to take enemies out from afar. But if you’re old-school, you can also use the bow and arrow, throw bottles for distractions, or straight-up perform silent takedowns.
And there are many ways you can approach each level. Even if you get spotted, you can run around a bit, remain hidden, and regain your element of surprise again. The enemies will know you’re there, but you’ll still have the chance to get another stealthy takedown on them.
Speaking of enemies, NPCs in the game feel alive. They’re smarter and more realistic as they call out each other’s names, check up on allies if they don’t respond, and even beg for mercy when you’re about to take them down. And because you’re still in a post-apocalyptic world, you’ll still have to worry about zombies (infected). There are newer variants of the infected with their own set of challenges.
The newer weapons, better enemies, great graphics, and improved combat and stealth mechanics make The Last of Us Part 2 a must-play for any stealth lover. If you want to increase your chances of surviving in the unforgiving world of The Last of Us, then you should check out: The Last of Us Part 2 Tips.

|Release Date||January 20, 2021|

Who doesn’t recognize the iconic Agent 47 with his slick suit and, well, bald head? Seems like none of his targets do because Agent 47, a genetically engineered assassin, is the master of disguise, stealth, and precision, as shown by many of the Hitman games. And if you’re new to the Hitman franchise, then perhaps this will get you started: Hitman Guide: Beginner Tips!
The latest Hitman games were all part of the World of Assassination trilogy, and Hitman 3 marks the end of it. We see Agent 47 as he tears down the secretive organization Providence, one leader at a time.
Agent 47 Will Get You Anywhere
With six different levels, the game takes you on an adventure around with world. You get to explore areas in Dubai, Berlin, Dartmoor, Romania, and a lot more. And what’s even better is the fact that five of these levels are like mini open worlds of their own. You get thrown into the world and must find your target and assassinate them by any means.
Replay For Hours
And when the game says any means, it literally means any means. You can sneak up to your target and just shoot them to death; you can strangle them, drown them in a toilet, poison their meal, electrocute them, or even kill them with a frying pan; it’s all up to you!
Because of all of these possibilities, you can go back to the same level and feel like you’re playing it for the first time by going down a different path. And the game embraces this concept quite well. Any progress that you make on a level affects the entire level, and the next time you drop in, you’ll have access to most of your progress. For example, if you opened a secret door or got a new item like a key or pass, you’ll have it the next time too!
Hitman 3 is the perfect playground for those that just want to play around with hundreds of possibilities and feel like a true assassin. So, if you’re looking for the best Hitman stealth game on the PS5, Hitman 3 is a great choice! And if you want to explore other hitman games, consider reading our ranking of the different games: BEST Hitman Games!
Ghost Of Tsushima
|Our Ranking||3rd Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2020|
|Release Date||July 17, 2020|
|Developers & Publishers||Sucker Punch Productions|
Moving away from all these modern stealth games, let’s take a step back into the samurai era and discuss Ghost of Tsushima! The Mongols are at the peak of their invasion of Japan, and as Jin Sakai, you must protect your sacred lands with everything that you’ve got.
Conflictions Backed By Beautiful Music
The game has a great story and focuses on the theme of sticking to one’s morals and teachings or using means which might be unfair but get the job done. Do the ends really justify the means? That is a conflict that Jin will always be in throughout the story.
Additionally, the game has memorable characters, a beautiful soundtrack, and great combat. The game is an open-world action RPG that offers you multiple playstyles. And one of those playstyles is heavily focused on stealth and literally declares you as “the ghost.”
Becoming The Ghost
You’ll have many stealth tactics at your disposal. Through the skill tree, you can unlock many of these abilities, such as chained assassinations, Shoji Assassination, and even the Ghost Stance.
And how could one miss out on all of the ghost weapons that the game gives you? From kunai to all sorts of bombs like black powder, smoke, and sticky bomb, you’ll always be prepared for the different situations in the game. You can even distract enemies using the wind chime.
Stealth gets even better later down the road when you have access to tools such as the blowgun to cause enemies to go berserk and target all those around them. Mix all of these abilities with the environment to remain hidden on rooftops, tall grass, or under buildings, and you’ll feel like a true Ghost of Tsushima! If you want to experience some similar games, then you can find them in our list of BEST Adventure Games.
|Our Ranking||4th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Game of the Year at PC Gamer Awards|
|Release Date||October 6, 2014|
|Developers & Publishers||Creative Assembly|
|Gameplay Type||Stealth, survival horror|
We’ve seen a lot of horror games and many stealth games. But what if we combined these aspects and got sent to space? Oh, and let’s also throw in a killer Alien that just wants to rip you into pieces. Well, that’s exactly what Alien: Isolation does.
Taking inspiration from the original film, Alien (1979), Alien: Isolation is set almost 1.5 decades after the movie and puts you in the shoes of the daughter of the movie’s protagonist. Amanda Ripley gets onboard the space station Sevastopol and is trying to discover what happened to her mother, Ellen Ripley, 15 years ago and what caused her disappearance.
Soon she discovers that there is a hostile Alien onboard the ship, and she must escape by all means necessary. Because you can’t exactly kill the Alien, and it easily finds you if you create too many disturbances, such as running around or even using the Alien detector, your best option is to use stealth and sneak around everywhere.
Additionally, the alien is not the only hostile creature that you need to worry about. On the space station, there are androids and human survivors that also want to kill you. Your task is to remain hidden from all of these threats and complete objectives that get you close to making your escape.
Not Totally Defenseless
But you’re not completely defenseless. You’ll have access to weapons like a shotgun and revolver and even get the chance to exploit the Alien’s weakness, fire. If you’re a fan of stealth and horror survival games, Alien: Isolation is an amazing experience on the PS5, especially with the 60FPS!
Games like Alien: Isolation is rare. The game managed to show perfectly what it feels like to be in space, all alone. From the different sounds to the assets in the environment, they’re all amazing. If you want to try out a totally different yet enjoyable game series, then you might enjoy: BEST Ace Attorney Games.
Horizon Forbidden West
|Our Ranking||5th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Visual Art award at the Star Awards 2022|
|Release Date||February 18, 2022|
|Developers & Publishers||Guerrilla Games|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, sci-fi|
Horizon Forbidden West by Guerilla Games is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn and continues directly from the ending moments of the first game. The series introduced a unique spin on the typical post-apocalyptic and monster-hunting games. Instead of undead, vampires, or just regular dinosaurs, the world is filled with machines that resemble creatures from millions of years ago!
Improvements From First Game
Horizon Forbidden West does a phenomenal job of improving everything from the first game while adding its own new elements. The world is bigger, and denser, and has better characters, graphics, combat, and a lot more! That also means that it has better stealth mechanics as well!
Silent Machine Killer
The overall stealth of even the first game was great and got carried over to the second one. There is tall grass for you to hide in, a bow and arrow to shoot without being detected, and a spear to perform takedowns.
Furthermore, each enemy has a certain weakness that you can exploit by putting down elemental traps or using different elemental arrows. And the game has a lot of enemy types, such as the Apex Stalker, Skykiller, and a lot more. The game is literally brimming with stealth possibilities as you take down different ancient creatures.
Additionally, the game added special moves that follow a cinematic cutscene while activating and give you buffs like additional damage. But one of these special moves is the Stealth Stalker, which lets you activate a cloaking device to decrease visibility, the perfect tool for any stealth player!
You’ll also have other weapons and tools in your pouch, such as the smoke bomb, to help you out. And with an entire skill tree dedicated to stealth, you’ll have plenty of abilities to look forward to unlocking as well! If you want to learn how to level up, then consider reading our Horizon Forbidden West XP Farming guide.
Little Nightmares 2
|Our Ranking||10th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Outstanding Puzzle Game at NAVGTR Awards 2022|
|Release Date||February 11, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||Tarsier Studios|
What would you do if you were a tiny person in a gigantic world with massive humanoid characters trying to hurt you? Well, besides just getting scared to death, you’d likely try to avoid them as much as you could while trying to escape from them.
Little Nightmares takes that concept and turns it into a 2.5D horror game with a lot of puzzles and a good amount of stealth. It is a sequel to the first game and lets you play as Mono, a boy with a paper bag on his head. Additionally, the protagonist of the first game, Six, is also by your side as you move from one area to the next and solve puzzles along the way.
The game made some interesting improvements from Little Nightmares 1. Before, you didn’t have the option to attack enemies, but now Mono can swing around a bunch of utensils like a spoon to crush enemies that are a similar size to you.
However, true stealth comes in the levels where you’re faced with giant humanoids. The game encourages you to sneak past them to avoid getting caught. And sometimes, it can take more than just one tries to figure out the best path. But when you do successfully complete the puzzle and get through, it feels really rewarding.
Additionally, the progression and pacing of the game are quite good. And even though the game might be short, the constant action and tension keep you hooked! That’s why Little Nightmares is certainly a part of the best indie games in the stealth genre, especially on PS5.
Did you know that Little Nightmares is actually an indie franchise? It’s truly impressive what Indie developers are capable of coming up with. If you want to discover more amazing hidden gems like Little Nightmares 2, then you should definitely read BEST Indie Games.
The Last Of Us Part 1
|Our Ranking||5th Stealth Game|
|Release Date||September 2, 2022|
|Developers & Publishers||Naughty Dog|
|Gameplay Type||Survival Horror|
The original Last of Us was initially released on the PS3, and it was absolutely mindblowing when it came out. It was ahead of many of the games of its time. And it introduced amazing mechanics, a captivating story, and brilliant graphics.
Same Old But Much Better
The game was remastered for the PS4, and now it has been completely remade from scratch to meet the standards of a PS5 game. From better character models to improved models and realistic lighting, The Last of Us Part 1 is the best way to experience the amazing tale of Joel and Ellie.
You play in a post-apocalyptic world as Joel, a smuggler who would do anything to survive and get by. As a favor to a friend, he has to smuggle a 14-year-old girl, Ellie, across the US to the Fireflies. Due to her immunity to the zombie infection, she might be the key to a cure.
We get to explore the characters in depth and witness their relationship develop after each life-or-death situation. And there’s no shortage of those situations in the game, as you will constantly face human and infected enemies throughout the game.
Surviving In The Cruel World
Although the combat is great, and you can usually use melee and weapons such as guns, you’ll soon find yourself out of ammo and resources to heal yourself after each fight. And sometimes, the sheer number of enemies is enough to overpower you no matter how good you are. So, the best tactic is to play with a blend of action and stealth.
And the game has many stealth mechanics for you to use. You can detect enemies using your listening abilities, hide from them using cover, perform silent takedowns from behind, use bow and arrow for silent ranged attacks, and even use objects like bricks to divert their attention! And you can sharpen all of your skills by upgrading them or collecting training manuals.
Furthermore, the enemies in the game provide a good challenge. Some can detect you if you’re being too loud. Others can completely overpower you, so you have to be smart with your tactics! The Last of Us has always remained an iconic PlayStation exclusive, and with the remake, it’s among the pioneers of best stealth games on the PS5! If you’re just getting started, we’d recommend that you read our guide on Last Of Us Part 1 Combat Tips.
Sniper Elite 5
|Our Ranking||14th Stealth Game|
|Release Date||May 26, 2022|
|Developers & Publishers||Rebellion Developments|
|Gameplay Type||Tactical Shooter, stealth|
After nearly five years, a new installment was released in the Sniper Elite series. The franchise is known for having some of the most realistic tactical shooter gameplay surrounding snipers. The previous game, Sniper Elite 4, introduced some great mechanics that really made the game shine, and it seems like Sniper Elite 5 seems to refine and make those even better.
A Tactical Mastermind
You play as SOE sniper Karl Fairburne. Throughout the games, he’s been taken to many locations, and this time he’s in France in 1994. There is a huge map for you to explore right after the tutorial mission, and there are plenty of side quests to keep you involved as well.
Besides the plot, the game is truly known for its sniper gameplay. You get to scout areas and plan your path, mark enemies that you’re going to snipe, and just do overall tactical preparation. The game isn’t completely just focused on making you kill enemies. You can discover secret weapons, find collectibles, or try out survival mode.
Realistic Sniper Mechanics
But when you do focus on killing enemies and when you do have a target in sight, you can get ready with your sniper rifle and take a shot. And there are many mechanics to consider when using your sniper. From the distance and bullet drop to the wind affecting your shots, each of these factors can affect your accuracy.
And if you want to remain hidden, not only do you need to find a great hiding place, but you need to mask your bullet shot using sounds from the surrounding. The noise of a loud generator or a plane flying over you can be great to mask the loud sound of a sniper.
See It All Through X-Ray
And let’s not forget the satisfying sniper cam that shows a cinematic that follows the bullet’s trail and lets you see the x-ray of an enemy as the bullet bursts through them.
The game also gives you the ability to perform close melee takedowns, and you can climb around to sneak into buildings too. If you’re a fan of snipers or the Sniper Elite franchise, Sniper Elite 5 is a must-have for your collection of the best sniper stealth games on PS5! And if you’re just getting started with the game, make sure to explore all of our guides; you can access them easily through our Sniper Elite 5 Wiki.
|Our Ranking||30th Stealth Game|
|Release Date||October 16, 2019|
|Developers & Publishers||The Farm 51|
|Gameplay Type||Survival shooter, stealth, RPG|
What started as just a Kickstarter turned into a great game with a lot of survival stealth horror mechanics with a bit of RPG involved as well! Chernobylite is a game based on the Chernobyl disaster. You get to play as Igor Khymyuk, who is in search of his fiancée in the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
Surviving For Your Fiance
You get to explore the different areas while hunting for clues that get you close to finding your fiancée. But the world is filled with bandits, mercenaries, and even monsters known as Stalkers. The game doesn’t shy away from sci-fi elements and uses radiation as a plot point to introduce many aspects like wormholes, the monsters, and at times even affects your sanity by making you hallucinate.
The various stealth mechanics in the game are quite simple yet effective. You can sneak around, remain hidden in foliage, and perform attacks from behind. But due to the fact it is a survival game, stealth seems vital at times to save ammo and other resources. The scarcity of resources combined with the stealth mechanics makes for surprisingly good stealth gameplay!
The game also has day cycles, and there is a real sense of time progression in the game. As days pass, you can either get new objectives or miss old ones, and there are also different weathers. The game also gives you choices that can greatly impact your story. Even the choice of killing enemies can affect many things, like your sanity.
Coming from a small studio, it really nails many aspects, and there’s not much to complain about. If you’re into sci-fi adventures and want to enjoy a good narrative, then Chernobylite is amongst the best sci-fi stealth games on the PS5. If you want to know about another upcoming game based on the Chernobyl events, then check out: STALKER 2.
Assassin’s Creed Unity
|Our Ranking||9th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Annie Award for Outstanding Achievement for Character Animation in a video game|
|Release Date||November 11, 2014|
|Developers & Publishers||Ubisoft|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, stealth|
In recent years, Assassin’s Creed, by Ubisoft, has taken a totally different turn from what it used to be like. Instead of RPG elements and open combat, the game used to focus on social stealth and blending within the crowd to deliver a single killing blow. Instead of giant open areas, we used to have giant climbable buildings instead.
The Ultimate Assassin’s Creed Formula
And that’s exactly what Assassin’s Creed Unity is. It took the old formula of Assassin’s Creed games, the big buildings, giant crowds, and great parkour, and created an amazing stealth game. The game was buggy at the start, which led to many players writing it off as a bad game. But after the fixes, it truly has become a fan favorite.
Most Assassin Creeds games tend to have a good story, and that’s the case with Assassin’s Creed Unity as well. But what makes Unity so great is the gameplay. Some consider it the pinnacle of traditional assassin-styled gameplay.
Killing an enemy feels smooth and a lot faster than in previous games, allowing you to move around quickly while avoiding other patrolling enemies. The game introduced the crouch mechanic, which surprisingly didn’t exist before, but it adds a whole new dimension to how you can approach stealth.
Tools For Days
The different tools at your disposal work well together, especially considering you now have the option to equip two at a time. You can create a lot of good combinations like phantom blades and smoke bombs or firearms and stun grenades. The combinations can be anything that you like to suit your playstyle or the situation that you’re in.
Even regular combat feels good. The parry-styled combat feels like there’s actual weight behind the sword, and you’re not swinging it around like a lightsaber in recent games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
And shout out to the parkour in the game. The animations are really well-made, and the scale of the buildings is perfect for climbing and getting around. If you’re a fan of the traditional Assassin’s Creed, then Assassin’s Creed Unity deserves a play. And if you want to see how each game compares to the rest in the franchise, then check out: Assassin’s Creed Games Tier List where we rank all of the games!
|Our Ranking||21st Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Critics’ Choice Award at Golden Joystick Awards 2021|
|Release Date||September 16, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||Arkane Lyon|
|Gameplay Type||First-person shooter|
Messing with time can be quite tricky. What if you cause the end of the world, or even worse, what if you get stuck in a time loop? Well, in Deathloop, that’s exactly what happens to you. If you want an in-depth review of the game, then consider reading: Deathloop Review.
Looped For Eternity
You’re stuck in a time loop, and to escape it, you need to kill eight different visionaries spread around an island before midnight. Failing to kill all eight will result in you starting all the way from the start of the day and having to kill all of them again but with a different strategy.
That might sound confusing, but the time doesn’t actually move while you’re in one area. So, you can move around freely and explore. But when you travel from one district to another (out of the four different districts), the time moves from morning to noon (or afternoon to evening).
Exploration Is Key
The game takes many elements from games like Hitman, Dishonored, and Prey. There is a good amount of gunplay, as well as the option to play stealthily while you parkour around. Although the AI can be a little slow at times, it doesn’t matter, as even when you’re done killing them; they’ll spawn back once the loop starts again.
But the exploration and gathering of new information is a huge part of the game. The clues you find can help you out in your next loop. And the fact that guard routines and placement of certain objects can be different depending on the time makes for a lot of different possibilities.
But you’re not alone in the loop. Other players can invade you as Julianna (or you can invade them), who is trying to preserve the loop and tries to kill you in hopes of stopping it. If you die to her or any other enemy, the loop starts all over again! Deathloop is a great game with good stealth mechanics that you can explore, and if you want to play similar games, you should definitely read the best Games Like Deathloop.
|Our Ranking||29th Stealth Game|
|Release Date||September 17, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||Lince Works|
|Gameplay Type||Third-person action, stealth|
The original Aragami wasn’t known for its story as it was mostly told through text dialogues. But the gameplay was some of the best stealth gameplay out there. And it’s safe to say that Aragami 2 has expanded on those gameplay elements and become another great game.
The Darkness Is Truly Your Ally
Like the first game, you play as an assassin who is the master of shadows, allowing him to have access to different kinds of powers. Due to these powers, you can teleport from shadow to shadow, allowing you to sneak up on enemies quickly. Aragami 2 has new elements and now lets you teleport to edges as well if you’re close enough.
Hanging from a ledge can lead to some takedowns, and the ledge teleportation improves the overall traversal in the game. Furthermore, as you progress into the game, you’ll get better abilities and shadow skills, like being able to see your enemies’ paths, making stealth much easier. Or you can use lamps to burst into sleep inducive gas to take out multiple enemies.
Improvements From The Original
One difference from the original game is that now you can slightly defend yourself if you get spotted. In the previous game, enemies could one-shot you. But now you have the option to engage in parry-like sword combat. However, the game still discourages straight-up fighting by making the parry timing odd and not giving you enough health.
If you loved the original game or want to play a game on the PS5 that is purely focused on stealth, then Aragami 2 is quite good. There is a compromise on the story, but the gameplay tends to make up for it! If you’re a fan of VR, then perhaps you should read our list of BEST VR Games!
Far Cry 6
|Our Ranking||25th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Action Game of 2021 by Gamescom|
|Release Date||October 7, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||Ubisoft|
|Gameplay Type||Third-person action, open-world|
Far Cry is a first-person shooter franchise that has never really forced you to play according to a single play style. You can either go guns blazing, snipe enemies from afar, melee attack all of your enemies or sneak around and silently wipe out your enemies.
However, stealth always feels like one of the most satisfying ways to clear a mission, and Far Cry 6 fully supports that. You play as a guerrilla fighter, Dani Rojas. He (or she, depending on your choice) is on a quest to take down the El Presidente Anton Castillo, who is a dictator of a Caribbean Island known as Yara.
Most of your enemies are his regime as you fight off soldiers and sometimes even wildlife using various gadgets and weapons. And these weapons, gadgets, and even hidden weapons are what allow you to adjust your play style to become as stealthy as possible.
From using silencers on your weapons to even using a bow and arrow, there are so many weapons that you can use in Far Cry 6 to remain undetected. You can also get up close and perform melee takedowns and perform chained assassinations using throwable knives.
Gears And Tools To Make Gameplay Better
The game constantly gives you better upgrades and tools to make sneaking easier. There’s gear that can let you walk faster while crouched, hold your breath longer while sniping, and even increase your sliding speed. You can upgrade your gear with better scopes or use precision and EMP arrows with your bow to disable alarms. If you want to learn more about all of these gears, then you should read: Far Cry 6 Best Gear!
But the game doesn’t make it a walk in the park while you’re being sneaky. If you leave a trail of bodies behind, enemies are bound to notice and cause a ruckus. So, if you’re looking for an amazing stealth games on the PS5 with a huge open world and the freedom of choosing your own play style, then Far Cry 6 should be on your playlist.
|Our Ranking||26th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Nominated for best Sim/Strategy game at The Game Awards 2020|
|Release Date||June 16, 2020|
|Developers & Publishers||Mimimi Games|
|Gameplay Type||Real-time tactic game|
Western games with cowboys usually tend to be games with epic shootouts, chases, a lot of horse riding, and typical cowboy stuff, kind of like Red Dead Redemption 2. But Desperados 3 takes that genre and combines it with stealth to come up with a pretty good real-time tactical stealth game.
Desperados 3 is a top-down game and is a prequel to the first game in the series. The game is set in 1870s and explores the origins of John Cooper in the Wild West. Your adventures take you all the way from Colorado to Mexico as you try to hunt down a notorious bandit leader responsible for killing John’s father.
You’re always backed by a gang of outlaws, and the interactions between them tend to be quite entertaining, with each character having a distinct personality. And their banter continues even out in the field.
The game offers great gameplay for stealth players. You have your typical hiding in the bush and avoiding cones to avoid detection. But each of the gang members provides unique skills that can help you out.
For example, Kate has the ability to seduce and distract enemies while your other team members get behind. Isabelle has crazy voodoo abilities to mind control enemies. The drawback is that you’d have to sacrifice a bit of her health for it. There are also other abilities like throwing knives, using animals to help you out, explosions, and a lot more.
The Environment Is Your Friend
Furthermore, the environment will always remain one of your greatest weapons. Not only can you use it to remain hidden, but you can also leverage certain environmental features to your advantage. From tipping over giant crates to crushing enemies under a giant church bell, you can cause a lot of chaos using environmental hazards.
If you’re extremely good at stealth, you can sometimes get past levels without even taking out a single enemy. That way, you won’t have to worry about dead bodies alerting other enemies. If you love tactical games and cowboys, and strategy stealth games on the PS5 then Desperados III is a really good game in that genre. Desperados III is also a great single-player game, if you’re looking for similar experiences then you should consider reading: BEST Single Player Xbox Series X Games.
|Our Ranking||20th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Action Game at NAVGTR 2019|
|Release Date||September 7, 2018|
|Developers & Publishers||Insomniac Games|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure game|
Insomniac’s Spiderman was initially launched for the PS4 but got upgraded to the PS5 with a lot of graphical and performance improvements. It is an action-adventure game featuring an older Peter Parker doing pretty much typical spiderman stuff.
Who Knew Spidey Could Be Sneaky?
On the surface, Spiderman doesn’t seem like a stealth game at all. After all, you’re no Batman. You’re spiderman, and everyone mostly knows of your presence as you swing through the city performing acrobats and taking down bad guys. But the game actually has a lot of stealth sections and certain mechanics that make stealth really satisfying.
Because of your web shooters, you’re able to zip from one section to another in an instant, making traversal even more efficient than characters that have grappling hooks. That makes it easier for spidey to move out of sight, get behind enemies, and take them down.
The game has a basic line-of-sight detection system, but enemies are usually keeping eyes on other enemies as well, making it harder just to take them down. The game lets you know if it’s “safe” to perform a takedown or not. You can either use your webs to perform a perch takedown or zip toward them for a knockout.
Level Designs And Gadgets Support Stealth
But the level designs make stealth considerably better due to all of the environmental hazards that you can use to take out enemies. From pulling a shelf over enemies to swinging objects at them, you can sabotage a bunch of enemies without them realizing it.
Furthermore, you have access to a lot of spidey’s gadgets that make stealth even more fun. There are the basic web shooters that take multiple hits to knock over an enemy. But the more advanced gadgets like the Web Bomb or Electric Web can help take down multiple enemies at once.
You can also use the Trip Mine to leave traps around, and sometimes you even get to use a spider drone to infiltrate areas! Additionally, there are stealth challenges spread across the map for you to hone or simply show off your skills! There is also another Spiderman coming, here’s what features fans want in Spiderman 2.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2
|Our Ranking||23rd Stealth Game|
|Awards||Nominated for Game of the Year by Cryengine|
|Release Date||August 24, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||CI Games|
|Gameplay Type||Tactical Shooter|
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is yet another tactical stealth shooter where you get to play as a skilled sniper in a tale of international espionage as you mess around with political agendas. The game introduces a new character into the series, Raven, who takes on contracts that take him to the Middle East. You can read our in-depth review of the game here, where we explain why it’s sort of a mixed bag: Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 Review.
Taking The High Ground
Unlike other sniper games, such as Sniper Elite, missions aren’t completely open-world-styled. Such levels do exist, but you also have to take on “long shot” contracts that have you hide away at a vantage point several thousand meters away from the enemies. From there, you must snipe away all of your enemies and complete other tasks, all with the help of your sniper rifle.
Truly Feeling The Scope
The long-distance missions tend to be the most immersive in the game as it makes you feel like a true Hitman taking out enemies without them realizing it. And for those who love the nitty-gritty details of working a sniper rifle, you also get to adjust your aim for wind and bullet drop and also zeroing your scope!
Although you’ll have plenty of other gadgets at your disposal, even at close range, you won’t really need them, as a simple pistol and melee takedowns tend to do the trick. If you’re looking for just another stealth sniper game besides Sniper Elite, then Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 can work as a great alternative. And if you’re looking for more sniper games, then definitely check out: BEST Sniper Games On PS4.
A Plague Tale: Innocence
|Our Ranking||19th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Period Influence Award at NAVGT Awards 2020|
|Release Date||May 14, 2019|
|Developers & Publishers||Asobo Studios|
|Gameplay Type||Linear story game|
With another Plague Tale on its way, it’s a good time to revisit A Plague Tale: Innocence, especially on the PS5 with the improved graphics and framerate.
A Plagued Plot
A Plague Tale: Innocence is a story-oriented game with a bunch of stealth mechanics. In fact, due to how weak you are in the game, stealth is usually your only option. You play as Amicia and her little brother Hugo in the 14th century in France. Besides just the black plague, Britain is also at war with France, which means there were soldiers everywhere you go.
A Small Duo In A Big World
The main objective of the game is to escape from the soldiers of the French Inquisition while also figuring out the cause of Hugo’s sickness, which appears to be different from the plague. Hugo is with you throughout the game, similar to experiences like The Last of Us, where Ellie would always be by your side.
Due to enemies being significantly stronger than you, you’ll be tasked with coming up with creative ways to move from point A to point B. But you do have the option to distract or kill enemies as long as you remain hidden.
Amicia will have access to a sling that she can use to take care of her enemies. Whether it be pulling off a headshot or attracting hordes of rats toward them, she can use many creative ways to get out of tricky situations.
The Dark Hordes
And these hordes of rats are also a vital part of the whole experience as you are in the black plague time period, after all. Of course, they’ve been exaggerated to be a lot more aggressive, and the sheer number of rats that can surround you is just absurd. The game truly makes you feel useless around them and forces you to find clever ways to escape.
That’s where a lot of the puzzles of the games come into play. From using fire to repel rats to using your sling to break chains and open up areas, the game has many interesting problem-solving situations.
With an engaging story, great characters, and good stealth mechanics, A Plague Tale: Innocence is quite underrated and worth a play! And if you’re looking for another franchise that is story-oriented, you should check out: BEST Nancy Drew Games.
Sekiro Shadows Die Twice
|Our Ranking||22nd Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019|
|Release Date||March 22, 2019|
|Developers & Publishers||FromSoftware|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, SoulsBorne|
By default, none of the SoulsBorne games are stealth games. In fact, many of the Soulslike games aren’t even stealth games. However, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice does something different that makes you want to use stealth, and it works quite well.
Quest Of A Loyal Wolf
You play as a Shinobi who is on a quest to save his lord from the Ashina clan. Your mission takes you on a journey toward Ashina Castle and the surrounding areas. As you take down the many soldiers and warriors of the Ashina clan, you get one step closer to saving your lord.
Many of the encounters in the game are actually boss fights with extremely tough bosses. The majority of your gameplay will just be dying over and over to them before you finally understand their moveset, parry them efficiently and deliver the finishing deathblow.
Use Stealth To Make Fights Easier
But when you’re out in the world, stealth can be quite useful. The thing with SoulsBorne games is that even regular enemies can kill you in a few hits if you’re not too careful.
And when you’re just starting out, there’s a high chance that it’ll take you a while to get used to the parry-styled combat. All of these, mixed with the fact that you lose half of your XP and currency each time you die, sneaking around and eliminating enemies without risking the chance of getting hit seems like a better option.
For dealing with regular enemies stealthily, besides just your sword, you have other tools as well. Sekiro has a prosthetic arm that can be loaded with different gadgets like throwing stars, kunai, and a lot more.
Even when you’re dealing with mini-bosses spread around the world, you can make use of stealth. If you sneak up on a mini-boss and deliver a sneaky deathblow, it’ll reduce their total health to half, making the fight a lot easier compared to if you took them head-on. And if you’ve played all of the SoulsBorne games, including Elden Ring, then you should check out these: Games Like Elden Ring.
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
|Our Ranking||24th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Game of the Year at Canadian Video Game Awards 2016|
|Release Date||August 23, 2016|
|Developers & Publishers||Square Enix|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, RPG|
The Deus Ex series is known for its interesting sci-fi concepts and cyberpunk-styled settings, and Deus Ex Mankind Divided is no exception and might be the best sci-fi stealth game on PS5. The game is the fourth entry in the series and is a direct sequel to the previous game.
In the world of Deus Ex, some humans have made themselves one with advanced technology, allowing themselves to get augmentations that provide them with artificial organs. These augmentations are significant improvements to regular organs.
However, in the previous game, a catastrophic event known as the Aug Incident caused all of the augmented beings to lose control and attack regular humans. And in Deus Ex Mankind Divided, you play Adam Jensen in 2029 and explore the consequences of that event.
Adam Jensen is an augmented being himself but works as a double agent for a group. The group, known as the Juggernaut Collective, works in the dark to expose the Illuminati as it might be behind the catastrophic event.
Augments Are Your Friend
The game mixes elements of RPG, first-person shooter, and stealth, allowing you to approach a level in many ways. The gun combat in the game is great, with many weapons to choose from. But it is quite challenging, especially when compared to the stealthy approach.
Due to your various augmentations, you have many tools to aid you in being detected. From EMP attacks to sharp projectiles from your nano blades, you can make enemies feel useless against you.
You can also unlock many skills that can give you abilities like going invisible, eavesdropping efficiently, hacking with ease, detecting enemies even through walls, and a lot more! Deus Ex Mankind Divided is a great game if you want to feel like Agent 47 with augmentations. If you’re just getting started with the game, then consider reading: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Tips!
Batman Arkham Knight
|Our Ranking||8th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Action Adventure at Game Critics Awards|
|Release Date||June 23, 2015|
|Developers & Publishers||Rocksteady Games|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, Stealth|
It’s hard not to include a Batman game in a list of the best stealth games for the PS5. Unlike other superheroes, Batman is just a human, and bullets hurt him just as much as the other guy. That’s why Batman Arkham Knight punishes you heavily if you leave yourself out in the open for too long.
New Villain In Town
Following the events of Arkham City, there is a new vigilante in the town known as the Arkham Knight. And he has an entire army at his disposal to take Batman down. You play Batman to discover who the Arkham Knight really is while also fighting off other iconic villains such as Scarecrow, Riddler, and a lot more.
Besides just an interesting narrative, Arkham games are praised for their combat and stealth gameplay. Moving around quickly while taking down enemies just feels so natural in these games. Arkham Knight expands on the stealth system while retaining the mechanics that worked well.
You have access to the grapple hook, heat vision goggles, batarangs, and your cape that can work as a glider. But on top of that, you now have access to the batmobile as well. Although most of the batmobile missions feel just like typical tank wars, there are certain missions, especially boss missions, that require you to stay out of sight.
Fear The Bat
Additionally, besides just the regular silent takedowns, the game introduced the fear multi-takedown that allows you to take out up to 6 enemies in succession. Thugs would often get scared in the previous games. Therefore, it’s quite a neat mechanic to have to play upon their fears.
With all the gadgets, detective work, and the batmobile, Batman Arkham Knight truly makes you feel like Batman! If you’re a fan of comic book games, then it’s a must-play. If you want to know of another upcoming game that is going to take place in the Batman universe, then you should check out: Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League.
|Our Ranking||11th Stealth Game|

Dishonored 1 was a great game, and its sequel, Dishonored 2, takes the already good game and adds more elements to it to make it even better. At the start of the game, you get to choose to play as either Emily or her father, Corvo Attano. Regardless of whom you choose, your objective will remain the same, to reclaim the throne.
You’ll have access to supernatural abilities that you can choose in either an aggressive or stealth approach. But the game does a really good job of letting you choose your own playstyle. You can totally ditch all of the supernatural abilities and just stealth your way through most of the sections. If you’re just getting started with Dishonored 2, we’d highly recommend that you check out: Dishonored 2 Guide important powers.
The game supports stealth by rewarding you with different non-lethal and assassination methods through the completion of side quests. Dishonored 2 has all of the typical elements of a stealth game. Enemies detect you through line-of-sight mechanics while you try to retain your cover through objects, high areas, and even shadows.
Keep Them Distracted
You can attack and distract enemies through various methods. Stun mines, sleep darts, and the chaos system is some of the creative ways to attack enemies. But you can always go with the simply broken bottle for distraction paired up with a melee takedown technique!
There are also other mechanics, such as disposing of bodies to avoid drawing attention, disabling alarms, and much more, that you can discover by playing Dishonored 2 for yourself! And if you’re wondering what Arkane Studios has been up to recently, consider reading: Redfall: Everything We Know.
Watch Dogs: Legion
|Our Ranking||12th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Nominated for Innovation in Accessibility at The Games Awards 2020|
|Release Date||October 29, 2020|
|Developers & Publishers||Ubisoft|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, stealth|
Watch Dogs Legion is slightly different from the previous entries in the Watch Dogs franchise. Those games had a clear playstyle and would give you stealth abilities through hacking that would lead to some iconic moments like the block-wide power cut.
Build Your Legion
The game also had fixed protagonists with distinctive personalities and abilities. But Watch Dogs legions essentially lets you create a “legion” of operatives /characters that you can recruit from hundreds of NPCs that roam around the futuristic city of London.
These characters can have different abilities. Some might be great at melee combat and brawls or going guns-blazing and might have access to better weapons. Moreover, other characters might have better hacking skills and be greater for stealth. And when you get the right character with the exact skills you’re looking for, and the game truly shines in its gameplay.
Hack Your Way Through It All
Like the first game, there is a focus on hacking using your phone. You can distract enemies with a notification, shock them with their phones, hack into cameras, and even enable different covers for you to hide behind.
You’ll also have access to some fun little toys that you can play around with. You’ve got the spider bot that can be used for infiltration, a drone that can be used for scouting out and marking enemies, and there are other gadgets such as the electro-fists, AR cloak, and electro-shock trap. Learn more about gadgets in our guide of: Watch Dogs Legion Gadgets.
The gameplay of Watch Dogs Legion, or any Watch Dogs game, is usually about the environment and how well you can use it to your advantage. From your ability to parkour and move around to setting out traps by hacking electrical units. So, if that sounds like the kind of gameplay you might enjoy, and you like hacking, then Watch Dogs Legion is worth a shot, making it best among the hacking stealth games for the PS5.

Most uncharted games, in fact even Uncharted 4, are not stealth games. They’re action-adventure games that are focused on puzzles, treasure-hunting, and shooting anyone that gets in your way.
Part-Time Treasure Hunter
If you’re new to the Uncharted series, they follow Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter who has a knack for parkour and constantly getting himself in trouble. In Uncharted 4, we follow him as he tries to find Henry Avery’s treasure.
Uncharted 4 added some pretty good stealth elements that, although optional, are as good as some of the other stealth games on the list. In fact, certain missions where you’re breaking into areas feel really great when you pull off some great stealthy moves.
Surpassingly Fleshed Out Stealth
And the stealth gameplay isn’t something half-baked; it all fits in smoothly. Almost all encounters start you off as having the element of surprise on your enemies. You can often use that to your advantage by picking them off one by one.
You can mark enemies by aiming at them, and the detection system works in a similar way to games like Assassin’s Creed; enemies have a yellow indicator if they think something is wrong and a red if they completely spot you.
Athletics Is Key To Stealth
But because Nathan Drake is so agile and athletic, he’s able to stay out of sight by hanging on cliffs, climbing behind an object, or just even remaining hidden in bushes. On some levels, where water is present, you can use that to remain hidden and even lose the attention of the enemies.
But as mentioned, it isn’t technically a stealth game. But if you like PS5 games where stealth is optional, and even if you get spotted, you can have just as much fun, then Uncharted 4 is a great pick. But if you just want a game with a great open world, then check out: BEST Open World PS5 Games.
Assassin’s Creed Origins
|Our Ranking||17th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Nominated for Game of the Year at Italian Video Game Awards|
|Release Date||October 27, 2017|
|Developers & Publishers||Ubisoft|
|Gameplay Type||Action-adventure, RPG, Stealth|
There’s already an Assassin’s Creed game in this list, and there are actually certain games, such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, that were released after Assassin’s Creed Origins. But the game deserves mention due to the fact that it was the first game after the soft reboot of the franchise.
Mix Of Both Worlds
With Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft tried to implement RPG elements in the franchise while still trying to retain the assassin theme. Although the latest games have lost a little bit of those themes, Assassin’s Creed Origins did a good job of mixing RPG while still providing players with typical gameplay such as stealth, parkour, and much more, which is why it is considered as the best RPG stealth game on PS5!
The True Hidden One
You play as Bayek, a Medjay, who plays a vital role in the “origins” of the Assassin’s Creed and the brotherhood that we got to be part of in the previous games. We follow his tale as he tries to avenge his son, who got killed by the forerunners of the Templars. In the process, he also ends up becoming the founder of the Hidden Ones, the forerunners of the assassin’s brotherhood.
A Twist To Gameplay
Besides the compelling story, the gameplay mechanics are much different from the previous games. You have more parkour options as you can climb almost anything in the open world. Additionally, instead of an eagle vision, you’ll have an eagle that helps you spot and mark enemies, which makes it a lot more challenging and really requires you to prepare yourself before any infiltration.
But the game also has many of the traditional mechanics, air assassinations, hidden wrist blades, hiding areas, melee takedowns, ranged weapons, and a lot more. But because the game is RPG styled, you’ll constantly have to grind for XP to keep your blades sharp! While you’re playing the game, you should check out this easter egg: Assassin’s Creed Origins Brothel Location.
However, the game is amazing, from the characters, and the open world, to the soundtrack! Assassin’s Creed Origins is for those that love the franchise and want something fresh while still maintaining the franchise’s identity.
Mark Of The Ninja
|Our Ranking||18th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Indie Game at Canadian Video Game Awards|
|Release Date||October 9, 20218|
|Developers & Publishers||Klei Entertainment|
|Gameplay Type||Stealth 2D game|
We’ve discussed a lot of 3D games and even open-world games in the list so far. But to be a good stealth game, you don’t need any of those elements. In fact, as proved by Mark of the Ninja, you can make a pretty good stealth game, even in the 2D side-scrolling genre.
An Old School Masterpiece
It is worth noting that the game is quite old. In fact, we’re talking GTA V styled old. The game was initially launched for the PS3 and Xbox 360, then it got remastered for the PS4 generation, and now it’s also available on the PS5. But because it’s so popular, it’s hard not to revisit this gem.
The story is narrated by the use of animated sequences, but the gameplay is where it truly shines. You play as a nameless ninja that uses the darkness to his advantage. When you emerge into the darker parts of the environment, you can become completely invisible, which is indicated by darker attire.
Remain In Darkness
And the darkness truly is your ally, as when you’re in the shadows, you can take out enemies with just one hit. However, getting spotted leads to you dealing with the enemies straight on. And if you’re not quick enough to kill the enemy that spotted you, surrounding enemies can get alerted, leaving you with no chance of survival.
But usually, that’s not an issue as you’ll have many abilities to handle various situations. You can slip between narrow spaces, pass through shafts to become unreachable, and even take out light sources to grant yourself more hiding areas.
The game does a good job of pacing the challenges quite well and keeping you engaged throughout. When you start getting comfortable with using the darkness, the game can throw enemies with torch lights. And if you become comfortable taking them out, you’ll start facing enemies with night-vision goggles!
All of these factors lead to why Mark of the Ninja is the best 2D stealth game for the PS5. If you want to play similar games, consider reading: BEST Sega CD Games.
Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach
|Our Ranking||13th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Players’ Choice December 2021 on Playstation’s Official Blog|
|Release Date||December 16, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||Steel Wool Studios|
|Gameplay Type||Survival horror|
At this point, it’s almost rare for one not to know of the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise. The idea of creepy animatronics took off, especially when people started posting their gameplays on YouTube. The tension of maintaining power while trying to avoid enemies creeping up on you made a good mix of resource management and the horror genre.
Taking Things To Another Level
But Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach takes that concept to a whole new level by not just restricting you to one control room but letting you walk around and explore areas freely. The game definitely takes inspiration from other horror games, such as Alien: Isolation, where you’re trying to complete tasks while being hunted down, and in this case, you’re being hunted by animatronics!
You play as a kid that is stuck in a giant mall that is filled with animatronics, and you need to survive the night. Surprisingly, your only ally amongst the murderous machines is Freddy Fazbear, who’ll guide you and give you missions that you need to complete that’ll progress you further in the night.
Just like the first game, there’s a bunch of resource management, keeping an eye on certain meters, and always being on the lookout for an animatronic closing in on you. You can listen for footsteps and then use your stamina to run away. Additionally, you’ll need to keep your gadgets, such as the flashlight or cameras, up to charge, or you’re going to have a hard time navigating.
An Unexpected Ally
Additionally, you can make use of Freddy Fazbear and actually hide inside and control him. He can help you to get from point A to B without being spotted by the other enemies. But as he’s animatronic, he’ll need to be recharged.
If you’ve loved the Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, then this game is a fresh new take on it. It adds more tension and horror moments as you get chased by enemies, get jump scares, and have to manage your depleting resources.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach is truly for those players that not only want a stealth game but also want to experience a little bit of horror along the way! And if you want to try out a totally different genre of games that includes the well-known Genshin Impact, then perhaps you should read: BEST Gacha Games 2022.
|Our Ranking||15th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Best Playstation game of the year at Golden Joystick Awards 2019|
|Release Date||April 26, 2019|
|Developers & Publishers||Bend Studio|
|Gameplay Type||Survival Horror|
When Days Gone was initially released, it didn’t get quite a lot of appraisals. The game had a few issues, some thought of it as too generic, and others just didn’t give it a chance. But since then, there have been many updates, refinements, and an upgraded version for the PS5, making it an obvious pick for the best zombie stealth games out there!
Just You And Your Bike Against The World
You play as Deacon St. John, an outlaw biker in search of his wife. The game is an open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic setting with almost every area filled with zombies, better known as freakers.
The game certainly has a really touching narrative. Although the pacing can be a little slow, the gameplay is where the game shines. You can play in any playstyle that you want. Either go guns-blazing or go down the safer route of stealth; both feel equally good.
When you’re just starting out, you won’t exactly have the greatest guns and equipment to completely destroy the freakers that come your way. And if you’re trying to use your guns openly, especially without a silencer, you’ll soon find yourself surrounded without any chance of escape. So that’s why stealth and a silent approach become a huge part of the early game.
Freakers Will Definitely Freak You
You can remain in cover by hiding behind objects or bushes. You can take down enemies by laying down traps, using silenced weapons, or close melee takedowns. Sometimes you can purposely create sounds to lure enemies into a giant trap to take out multiple enemies at once.
And the freakers in the game are no joke. There are proper hordes of them throughout the map, and there are usually several dozens of them in a single group. When faced with them, you get a true sense of fear and tension while trying to escape or avoid them completely, which makes the stealth actually feel meaningful.
Days Gone really is for those that love the stealth and zombie genre. There’s so much for you to explore and many zombies for you to kill. And if you want more zombie games, then consider reading: BEST PS5 Zombie Games.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
|Our Ranking||7th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Critics’ Choice at Golden Joystick Awards|
|Release Date||September 1, 2015|
|Developers & Publishers||Kojima Productions|
|Gameplay Type||Tactical Espionage Game|
The Metal Gear Solid franchise is known as one of the best in the stealth genre. It has some iconic games and characters, such as Solid Snake, Big Boss, and a lot more. And Metal Gear Solid V is no exception. Upon release, it caught a bunch of attention and is still relevant to this day, which is why it has a PS5 version.
The Boss Is Back
The game lets you play Venom Snake (Big Boss) right after everything goes down in the prequel, “Ground Zeroes.” You’re on a quest to punish those that destroyed the previous MSF, Big boss’ Mercenary Group, and rebuild it under the name “Diamond Dogs.”
Your adventure takes you all the way to Afghanistan, which pretty much serves as your open-world playground as you use a bunch of your stealth abilities, and there are a lot of those in the game. You’ll have access to many weapons, such as tranquilizers, pistols, snipers, rifles, etc.
Additionally, you can take enemies out by getting close to them and performing melee takedowns, or better yet, interrogating them for useful intel before making them unconscious. You’ll also need to be careful of cameras, hiding bodies, or just giant crowds of enemies.
Meaningful Base Building
As you work on your base, you’ll get better equipment and more items to help you in your stealthy missions. These can include having companions in the field, such as snipers or a trained dog. Or you can have the iconic cardboard box that helps Venom Snake remain hidden inside. Or you can mess around with other gadgets, such as the Fulton system, to make a quick escape by standing on top of a container.
If you love espionage games, then you can never go wrong with giving Metal Gear Solid V a shot. From all of your weapons to level design, characters, the way enemies adapt to your tactics, using weather conditions to mask your footsteps, and much more, the game truly is a masterpiece and undoubtedly the best tactical and strategy stealth game on PS5!
Sometimes the base building can feel slightly grindy in the game, but for certain people, that might seem interesting. If you’re the type of player who loves grindy games, then perhaps you’ll enjoy all of these games on the list of BEST Grinding Games.
|Our Ranking||27th Stealth Game|
|Release Date||August 18, 2021|
|Developers & Publishers||Tricore Inc.|
|Gameplay Type||First-person, Stealth|
Yuoni is a unique first-person horror stealth game. You play as a 10-year-old, and no 10-year-old is capable of performing crazy combat moves or using weapons, so you can bet that stealth is your only option in the game.
The Unfortunate Dare
The game follows the kid being challenged by her friends to complete the task of gathering a doll without being seen. It is said that if one does that successfully, then “Yuoni” asks to play with you. Without thinking much of the consequences, our protagonist completes the challenge, and the next day she’s faced with Yuoni.
And then, from here onwards, you’re tasked with heading out of a room, finding the doll, and heading back. It seems like a simple task, but your quest to find the doll is where the real gameplay comes in.
The levels are different from each other each time you get the doll. And their confusing labyrinth-like design can make you feel lost in a matter of seconds. And even when you do find a way out, you’re faced with enemies that want to either scare you to death or well deliver death to you.
There are all sorts of enemies, some with shorter vision and others with great hearing that can sense you from far away. And, of course, even Yuoni occasionally appears, giving you a jump scare. Your best option for avoiding such enemies is by hiding under objects or inside closets and holding your breath!
So, if you want to try out a first-person horror stealth game, then Yuoni is one of the best that you can play on PS5. Finding games that work well on the Mac can be hard. But we’ve compiled an entire list to help you out: BEST Steam Games For Mac.
Shadow Of The Tomb Raider
|Our Ranking||28th Stealth Game|
|Awards||Won Best Interactive Score at G.A.N.G Awards 2019|
|Release Date||September 14, 2018|
|Developers & Publishers||Eidos-Montreal|
Shadow of the Tomb Raider continues from Rise of the Tomb Raider, which came out in 2015. It continues the story of Lara Croft fighting against Trinity and trying to stop a Mayan apocalypse. Her adventures take her all the way to the tropical regions of America and even to the lost city of Paititi.
If you’ve played the previous games in the Survivor Trilogy, then many mechanics will feel similar with certain improvements. But if you’re new to the franchise, then there are many stealth mechanics for you to explore.
Camouflage Your Way Through
Like typical stealth, you can remain hidden in bushes, seek out enemies and perform silent takedowns. But Lara Croft is more skilled this time around and can camouflage herself by being covered in mud. This not only makes you less visible but also lets you hide using trees, walls, and other places.
Outfits also play a role in your camouflage as they can help you blend in or stand out from the environment. These camouflages tie in nicely with the exploration in the game, as you can find better outfits the more you search and flip over every stone in the game.
You also have other abilities at your disposal that make stealth much easier. Your survivor instinct can show where enemies are and also if it is safe to attack them or not. With a bow and arrow, you can pick off enemies from a distance, and with your rope, you can pull enemies towards you.
Skill Yourself Up
And there’s even a skill section dedicated just to improving your stealth, such as granting double stealth takedowns. Despite having all of these tools and abilities, the game doesn’t make it totally easy for you to take down enemies. As you progress further, enemies will be equipped with thermal goggles to render your camouflage and other hiding tactics useless if you’re not too careful!
Because of all of these aspects, the game can easily be considered the best action-adventure stealth game on PS5 Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and most of Tomb Raider games tend to have great villains. If you want to discover all of the best villains in video game history, then perhaps you should read BEST Villains In Video Games.
With that, we’ve come to the end of the best stealth games on the PS5 compilation. The stealth genre has many amazing games, some that are strict with their stealth and others that lean into other gameplay mechanics as well!
