Awards | Nominated for the Best Game and Performer in a Video Game at The 15th British Academy Awards |
Release Date | October 5, 2018 |
Developer And Publisher | Ubisoft |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Adventure RPG |
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was the 2nd game to be released under the new RPG Trilogy. It was the follow-up title to AC origins and focused on the Greek Mythical era. The game received a next-gen patch a few months back, and it looks better than ever thanks to the power of the PS5, making it a must-play for Third-Person RPG fans.
Players have the option to choose between either Kassandra or Alexios, who will both appear in the story regardless of choice and make it interesting in different ways. There are various ways to customize your character in this game and make them overpowered.
The map is huge and littered with activities to do, such as taking down all of the mercenaries and hunting down the Best Armor Sets, which will let you have the most fabulous fashion for your demi-god hero. The only drag might be the pacing, as the game can tend to level-gate you out of several mainline missions, but if you’re a fan of the Best Grinding Games, then you should have no problem farming for levels in AC Odyssey.
The game dials up the quality of its quests to a hundred with the inclusion of your custom character. Both Alexios and Kassandra are fairly charismatic protagonists, and you can shape their personalities in different ways by choosing dialogue options in each scenario. These can have consequences on some of your actions and can surprisingly alter the outcomes of some of the Main Quests, especially with its climactic ending.
While you may dislike hunting down cultists to unravel a larger mystery, the core storytelling of the game is wholesome and sweet to the very end, as by making the right actions, you will reach a point where the family reunion will be pleasurable to witness for someone who invested upwards of 60 or so hours in the game.

- The diversity of weapons makes Assassin’s Creed Odyssey fun and addictive to play.
Cons
- The campaign is already challenging and the slow pacing can hugely impact the experience which is underwhelming in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
- Sometimes, you are forced to fight random enemies which can be annoying.

The Last Of Us Part 2 is the direct sequel to the first game, which aims to expand on Ellie’s storytelling and introduce a brand new character to the fray, Abby, to spice up the gameplay format. Naughty Dog released the backward Compatible update a while back for it on the PS4, making it smooth and silk to play in locked 60FPS.
The gameplay and combat are modified more than ever compared to the original game. Ellie and Abby both have over-arching storylines that blend into each other sooner or later into the playthrough. Each of the Chapters in the game is largely expanded to have more verticality in their level design and action sequences. You will even be able to explore the sandbox-like city of Seattle during the opening hours of the game with Dina.
The game is grittier than ever, and the narrative can be a hit or miss with everyone, even as of now, but there is no denying that it has the best Third-person combat for any on the PS5. If you haven’t, we highly encourage you to give the game a chance just to experience its amazing graphics and gameplay.
When it comes down to the nitty-gritty of the gameplay and combat in the game, it has been greatly improved upon as Ellie is nimble enough to traverse through the narrowest of openings during fights and is able to jump and swim around freely in some sections. But on top of everything else, the level design of TLOU Part 2 is much larger in verticality, and it opens up new ways for players to explore using both Ellie and Abby.

Release Date | January 25, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | Capcom |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person Survival Horror |
Resident Evil 2 is critically acclaimed as one of the best modern survival horror titles and arguably one of the greatest remakes of a cult-classic title. The game was the 2nd remake project of Capcom’s initial line-up of the Resident Evil franchise, and it received numerous awards that year after release. So much so that it became one of the highest-rated games of 2019, which later received a PS5 update to boost its performance.
The game offers two playable protagonists, the fan-favorite Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield, who both have largely distinctive campaigns and who both offer unique weapons to some extent. The RE2 Remake was made so popular that in today’s era, you would soon see the trend rise of remakes of beloved video games. Most games have opted for remakes and remaster that only offer enhanced visuals or details with minor gameplay changes.
However, Resident Evil 2 Remake is perfection as a remake because not only does it entirely change the philosophy and mechanics but also maintains the charm of the original, which is the limited movement and tension of the survival horror elements. - A few inconsistencies happen during the story mode which impacts the pace of Resident Evil 2 Remake.

The game is a modern classic because the mechanics and gameplay in it have aged like fine wine over the course of the past decade or so since its original release. For its time, RE4 was one of the few games that incorporated the over-the-shoulder camera style, which made it a revolutionary title for Capcom. It allowed for future games to follow the same style, making the camera style famous to a certain degree.
The entire progression is pretty linear, but it offers one of the best pacings in the RE series. One of the most memorable boss fights includes Verdugo and El Gigante, both of which have their own gimmicky fights. Leon has access to a variety of weapons at his disposal to take down cultists and villagers, such as the iconic RED-9, not to mention you will need to manage your inventory from time to time too.
Pros
- Resident Evil 4 has the finest combat system out of all Resident Evil games.
- Resident Evil 4 offers a great variety of enemy types varying from mini-bosses to main bosses in the game.
- The Quick Time Events are flawlessly balanced and fun to execute in Resident Evil 4.
- You can have a massive arsenal of weapons in Resident Evil 4.
- A lot of unlockable content and various game modes greatly increase the replay prospect of Resident Evil 4.
- Resident Evil 4 demands your combat skills while also preserving the horror element of the game.
- The sound design of resident evil 4 is amazing.
Cons
- Resident Evil 4 is not a very long game.
- No mouse support is available for PC in Resident Evil 4.
- The graphics are outdated.

Dark Souls 3 was marked as the penultimate entry in the trilogy of the original Dark Souls Franchise. It was critically acclaimed and adored by the entire fanbase for its massive improvements made over the previous entry and how it served as a loose connection with the events of the first game.

23. Grand Theft Auto 5

Our Ranking | The 35th Best Open World Game |
Awards | Won the Game Of The Year at The Golden Joystick Awards 2013 |
Release Date | September 17, 2013 |
Developer And Publisher | Rockstar North, Rockstar Games |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person, Open-World |
Rockstar is one of the most talented studios in the entire world, which is easily seen through the number of sales made by their magnum opus, Grand Theft Auto 5. The game is indefinitely the best-selling video game on the market, amassing upwards of a billion dollars and still crossing that mark each day since its original release. It received a PS5 port not too long ago, which enhances and boosts its graphical fidelity and framerate.
It is the first GTA game to incorporate three different protagonists that you can play as; Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, who each have their own special ability and, of course, different personalities. The storyline is much more upbeat in comparison to past entries, with all three protagonist storylines converging in various ways.
However, the most noteworthy aspect of all GTA games is obviously the massive sandbox world, and in that element, the developers have spared no effort in perfecting every bit of it. Most importantly, it has given rise to the Multiplayer mode, GTA Online, which even received its own standalone version for next-gen consoles.
Los Santos looked more detailed and beautiful than ever since its original release all the way back in 2013. It is truly a generation-defining game, one that has eagerly anticipated the world when GTA 6 is released in the future. Aside from that, we highly recommend revisiting the game on your PS5 since it is easily one of the best Third-person Sandbox games to play, even in 2022.

- The interface is slow and confusing in Grand Theft Auto 5.
- The multiplayer mode is riddled with hackers which can be troublesome in Grand Theft Auto 5.
- Minor bugs and glitches surface throughout the game.

Release Date | September 1, 2015 |
Developer And Publisher | Kojima Productions, Konami |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Stealth Adventure |
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain served as the final entry in the MGS Franchise as its legendary creator, Hideo Kojima, soon departed from Konami after the release of the game. The game is still endeared by fans to this day as being the best Third-person PS5 game with an excellent sandbox world and stealth action.
The entire MGS series had been widely known for its tactical stealth gameplay, which ultimately put the franchise on the map, not to mention it had one of the most thought-provoking and mesmerizing storytelling in all of Video Games. MGS V is mostly known for being one of the only games in the series that primarily focused on letting players have the creative freedom to roam the Open World and complete missions as they saw fit.
It will actively encourage players to come up with strategies to take down enemy encampments and bases, resulting in either stealth or guns-blazing. But it is here where the magic of Kojima and his team will come into effect as enemies and soldiers will soon become aware of your actions, so the next time you tackle the same base or revisit it, they will provide countermeasures to your previously used tactics.
Venom Snake has various different options available to him to complete missions which will more than happily entice players to go about their own way to progress through the main campaign. The game looks and runs great, thanks to the raw power of the PS5, so we highly recommend checking it out as it is simply of the Best Third-person PS5 games.

Awards | Won the award for the Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2019 |
Release Date | March 8, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | Capcom |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure, Hack and Slash |
Devil May Cry 5 is the 5th entry in the long-running DMC Franchise, which is notorious for being one of the most stellar action game series in the market. It relies on the player dealing epic and stylish combos in quick succession to main the style meter while performing everything with little to no error at all.
The game introduces you to returning heroes such as Dante and Nero, but most importantly, with the Special Edition, you get access to the Dark Knight Mode and more graphical options too. The former is essentially a game mode that will spawn an enormous amount of enemies for you to take down effortlessly with ease.
But also, after long fan demand, Capcom also added Vergil, Dante’s twin brother, who is one of the most beloved characters in the DMC series. Vergil has access to a plethora of awesome combos that will make you stay on the edge of your seat as you pour down the raging storm on your enemies.
Furthermore, the game is heavily optimized for the PS5, supporting 120FPS and even dedicated Ray-tracing modes to achieve the best graphics quality in it. This, personally, is a waste because you will mostly be on the adrenaline rush of dishing out your slick combos as you play DMC 5, one of the best third-person PS5 games out there that have the greatest action gameplay to offer.

Awards | It won the Game Of The Year at The Game Awards 2019 |
Release Date | March 22, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | FromSoftware, Activision |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
Out of most Souls Borne Games in the franchise by Fromsoftware, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice remains to be one of the most uniquely crafted titles in their catalog, mostly due to its superb and incredible combat design. The game relies on a constant back-and-forth rhythmic clash that results in draining your opponent’s posture meter. So constantly timing your deflections and parries will be the key to winning every battle.
You play as the Shinobi Wolf, who is tasked with protecting the divine heir, but after failing your mission, you are soon injured and forced to travel the lands in order to regain your young master’s presence and, most importantly, to sever the ties of immortality while fighting against fearsome foes and beasts.
The game has a total of four different endings that you can pursue, one of which is the Shura Ending, which is essentially the evil ending that you can claim through the midway points of the game.
Sekiro offers much more verticality in comparison to previous Fromsoft entries, as you have access to a brilliant grappling hook that lets you travel with ease throughout the complex and intricately designed levels with varied enemy designs. These enemies will push you to the edge in order to defeat them with precise calculations.
Sekiro was the Game Of The Year winner at the Game Awards 2019, and even now, in 2022, it is still regarded as the best Third-person action game on the PS5, which will encourage and test players’ endurance. The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is easily one of the greatest Third-Person RPG games, which have aged like fine wine to play on the PS5 seamlessly. Players reprise the role of Geralt Of Rivia as he must now locate and find Ciri and Yennefer, as well as overcome the looming threat of the King Of The Wild Hunt, Eredin, and his forces from conquering the lands. Veteran players can choose to start this journey via the Death March Difficulty, which will test their odds of survival.

Not to mention you will also have access to use the Best Runewords if alchemy is your preferred playstyle.
Perhaps the most well-known trait of TW3 is its bustling Open World which is full of question mark indicators that will make you complete every single thing aside from the main story. Who knows? 15. Control Ultimate Edition

Our Ranking | The 14th Best Adventure Game of all time |
Awards | Won The Critic’s Choice award at the 2019 Golden Joystick Awards |
Release Date | August 27, 2019 |
Developer And Publisher | Remedy Entertainment, 505 Games |
Gameplay Type | Third-Person Action-Adventure |
Control is a Third Person game that focuses on high-octane action and has a bizarre yet rich universe that seamlessly connects with Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake, another excellent game in their catalog. The game has a hit-or-miss reception due to its bizarre and trippy tonality in the storytelling aspect.
It is something that I personally adore due to the sheer complexity of trying to solve the mysteries of the Federal Bureau of Control (The FBC) is full of thought-provoking twists and turns. Jesse Faden, our protagonist, will constantly unravel new and eerie happenings whilst she tries to find her brother, Dylan, in the building. You may get turned off by the lack of logic behind certain plot points but trust us when we say to stick with it to the end.
Speaking of which, the level design of Control is something that will have you revisit and learn the layout of the FBC building, which is humongous, one that players may find overwhelming to navigate with ease. Jesse is able to learn lots of different abilities throughout her time in the game, including the ability to launch objects and projectiles at her enemies, as well as being able to manipulate gravity and levitate.
The Foundation and AWE expansions further expand and branch the story after the main campaign. They are both included in the Ultimate edition, which is the only version for PS5 users. The combat is very much the key selling point of the game, which is why we would highly recommend it to almost anyone a fan of the genre.
Pros
- The environment, lighting, and visuals in Control are on top of the shelf.
- The art direction is unmatched in Control.
- Control offers a unique combat system that blends gunplay and superpowers which is intriguing.
- Fascinating fundamental enigma.
Cons
- Sometimes the difficulty level spikes resulting in various bosses being extremely problematic in Control.
- The level design is great but the map gets incoherent which can confuse some players in Control.
- The narrative is not engaging enough to keep a player enrolled throughout the game.
- The ending leaves the players confused which is lackluster in Control.
14. Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy

Our Ranking | The 11th Best Adventure Game of all time |
Awards | Won the Best Narrative Category at The Game Awards 2021 |
Release Date | October 25, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Eidos Montreal, Square Enix |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was developed by Eidos Montreal, who were the same creators behind the critically acclaimed Deus Ex series. The game used the same combat engine from the recent Avengers game, but most importantly, it was adored by every player due to its amazingly written story and the cast of characters.
The game won the award for Best Written Game at the Game Awards 2021. What GOTG’21 does differently than other adaptations of the iconic group of characters, such as the MCU movies, is that it introduces the audience to a pre-established version of the Guardians gang. The exact timeline of the game fits well as you are introduced to legendary characters of the Marvel Comics Book franchise, such as Adam Warlock.
You mainly control Starlord Peter Quill, who is the leader of the Guardians of The Galaxy. The gameplay is action and command-based as players can direct the gang of Rocket, Gamora, Drax, and Groot to dish out different abilities that can greatly change the tides of battle.
The charm and wittiness of each character, plus the wholesome interactions or banter between each of them, make the entire experience unforgettable. Each of the characters will also go through emotional story arcs of their own in between the chapters, which will show their solidarity and commitment to each other as a group of mischievous but caring best friends. - In some situations, you are unable to make important decisions which is disappointing in Guardian of The Galaxy.
13. Yakuza Like A Dragon

Our Ranking | The 5th Best Turn-Based JRPG Game |
Awards | It was nominated for the Ultimate Game Of The Year Award At The Golden Joystick Awards 2020 |
Release Date | January 16, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, SEGA |
Gameplay Type | Open-World, Turn-based JRPG |
Yakuza Like A Dragon was a turning point for the series, especially for RGG, who were looking to reinvent the combat and freshen the gameplay. Hence why they took a major risk by opting to make the game a Turn-based JRPG instead of the traditional brawler the series is known for, which thankfully was positively received.
The game introduced a brand new main protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, who became a fan favorite instantly after the departure of the legendary hero, Kiryu Kazuma. He is quite different in contrast to Kiryu in that he is much more enthusiastic and childlike in his demeanor and personality. With his unlikely group of friends, Ichiban must rise from rock bottom to unravel the Yakuza’s dark and ever-growing mysteries.
The gameplay mainly revolves around players being able to explore the cities of Injincho in Yokohama, which is a brand new map of the series, as well as Kamurucho, the most well-known returning city of the franchise. Both of these locations are filled with activities to immerse yourself in as well as dungeons to grind with your party.
The game has an excellent Job system that lets you customize the classes of your party members, from the Bodyguard to the Dancer and many more! From Dragon Kart to Karaoke, the side activities are endless, and the world is your oyster to explore with Yakuza Like A Dragon, which runs beautifully on the PS5.
Pros
- The combat system is exceptional and well-balanced in Yakuza Like A Dragon.
- The storyline is legitimately on the top of the shelf in Yakuza Like A Dragon.
- Yakuza Like A Dragon offers a well-rounded cast of characters.
- The graphics are decent in Yakuza Like A Dragon.

- Special attacks are delightfully ridiculous and enjoyable.
Cons
- The pacing of the main story is extremely slow at the beginning which can be frustrating in Yakuza Like A Dragon.
- In dense battles, the camera might become an annoyance.
- Some aspects of the Yakuza experience may seem dated in Yakuza Like A Dragon.
12. Lost Judgment

Our Ranking | The Greatest Detective-Action game of all time |
Awards | The game was nominated for the Best Direction category at the 2022 NAVGTR Awards |
Release Date | September 24, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios, SEGA |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Detective-Thriller |
Lost Judgment is a crime thriller detective game which is created by the developers of the Yakuza series, RGG Studios, but this game, along with the original Judgment, serves as the spin-off game to the Yakuza franchise. Both of the Judgment titles have a different universe and a much darker and more serious narrative.
Although, of course, there are still gameplay and exploration exceptions in it, so with LJ, they managed to make it the same scope as Yakuza Like A Dragon, but with more activities than ever, such as being able to participate in various High School Drama events, skateboarding and much more! When you’re not out tackling the main cases, be sure to participate and complete the side cases for hilarious and intriguing side adventures of Yagami.
Players once again reprise the role of Detective Takayuki Yagami, who is caught in a case where he must investigate a sexual harassment case. However, players will soon learn it is much more than what meets the eye, as the storytelling will make you question the moral ambiguities that lie in the dark secrets of bullying & suicide.
Both of the Judgment games run excellently on the PS5, and most of the time, they go unnoticed by many gamers due to their niche quality. But we assure you if, given the proper chance and attention, The Judgment games are amazing and perfect for anyone looking for an awesome crime detective beat-em-up game.
Pros
- In terms of visuals, Lost Judgement is a decent-looking game.
- The combat system is well-designed providing a balanced experience throughout the game.
- The narrative is unique and engaging in Lost Judgement.
- Detective Pieces Need More Initiative which is only available in side missions in Lost Judgement.
Cons
- The resued content feels outdated now in Lost Judgement which is lackluster.
- Cluttered, careless treatment of the narrative’s serious, delicate particular topic can be underwhelming in Lost Judgement.
- The side cases are inadequate to keep a player engaged throughout the game.
11. Red Dead Redemption 2

Release Date | October 26, 2018 |
Developer And Publisher | Rockstar Studios, Rockstar Games |
Gameplay Type | Open-World Action-Adventure |
Red Dead Redemption 2 became one of the most sought-after games from Rockstar after their initial announcement of it back in 2016. The game was soon released worldwide; a PC release followed shortly after it. Most importantly, though, with such a high attention-to-detail and masterful storytelling, RDR2 would easily become a technical achievement for the company, becoming the greatest Open World game at the time.
The game is a prequel to the original Red Dead, but the plot takes place before the events of the former. You play Arthur Morgan, who is a central figure of Dutch Van Der Linde’s gang, which also has John Marston, our hero from the first game. RDR2 tells the tale of this gang that slowly crumbles as tensions begin to rise, and witnessing it all through Arthur’s perspective ends up delivering one of the most emotional stories in all of gaming.
The world of the Wild West in RDR2 is brimming to the top with activities and hustling to do. The only worthy recipients of an amazing Superhero game was the Batman Arkham series, but that title would soon have a rival with Spider-Man 2018. The game became a fan-favorite exclusive on the PS4 and would soon get remastered for the PS5 with boosted framerates and enhanced visuals, as well as receive a PC port too.
Insomniac Games has had a remarkable reputation with its catalog for PlayStation. They had been vividly known for their role in developing the new Ratchet and Clank games. But this new rendition of Spider-Man proved to be one of the best Third-Person Open World adventure games on the market. There is such riveting storytelling here that will keep players glued to the screen and an absolutely robust combat design.
The story will introduce players to several iconic villains from the Spider-Man universe, as well as other characters such as Black Cat and Silver Sable. The game’s main tagline is ‘Be Greater,’ and we can confirm that it lives up to it perfectly because the first playthrough of this game is easily an unforgettable experience for most players. Thus crowning it as the Best Third-Person Games PS5.

- Spider-man delivers an abundance of side content after the completion of the main story.

Release Date | November 12, 2020 |
Developer And Publisher | Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Open-World, Beat-em Up |
Speaking of which, it only seemed fair to include another amazing title in the same universe and by the same creators, Spider-Man Miles Morales. The game is a spin-off title to the main Spider-man game and features Miles Morales as the main protagonist this time around as he must defend NYC in the absence of Peter Parker.
The gameplay is generally the same as the main game in the series, with the exception that Miles has access to abilities in comparison to the original spidey. He is able to camouflage himself and even has powerful skills such as the Venom Strike, which can stun and brutalize most of his opponents with ease. The main campaign is relatively short, spanning up to a total of 15-20 hours to get the platinum via two playthroughs.
Just like the original Spider-Man Game, Miles Morales has plentiful side content to keep you immersed, such as being able to take down Gang Hideouts and grab every collectible in the world to upgrade Miles’ suits and skills. Swinging through the City as Miles feels like a whole different experience, one that many fans will adore.
Furthermore, the game supports three drastically different Graphical Options on the PS5. The game offers a 30FPS mode with 4K resolution and Ray-tracing, or you can choose to go with the “RT Performance” mode, which lets you maintain a locked 60FPS with ray-tracing capabilities to enhance the fidelity and world of the game. If you plan on playing the sequel on the PS5 in 2023, then Miles Morales is one game that shouldn’t be missed.
Pros
- The combat system is a step up from the previous Spider-Man game.
- A unique take on an impressive protagonist whose story is remarkable in Spider-Man Miles Morales.
- Spider-Man Miles Morales looks top-notch with ray tracing on PS5.
- Spider-Man Miles Morales provides substantial addition of additional powers to the existing gameplay pattern.
Cons
- Spider-Man Miles Morales is an extremely short game for the asking price.
- A rather tepid approach to the open-world genre.

Release Date | June 11, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Insomniac Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Platformer, Action-Adventure |
Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart were one of the earliest titles released for the PS5 shortly a few months after the launch of the console. The game is infamously known to take full advantage of the PS5’s built-in SSD with the Rift mechanics, which seamlessly connects different levels of the game in a split-second pacing.
You once again play as the quick-witted Ratchet and his robot buddy and sidekick, Clank, who are both thrown into an inter-dimensional crash course, leading them to battle a new impending evil as well as meet new faces. Among these new characters is Rivet, another lombax like Ratchet who fights to save her universe alongside him. Together you will eventually team up in order to prevent the order of interdimensional integrity from collapsing.
Players will battle through various different dimensions using the weaponry of these characters to aid them in defeating the menacing foes and combatants. You can upgrade these weapons by different means using bolts and scrap that you find throughout the campaign. Visually, the game is a treat because not only does the Rift technology seem innovative, but the Graphics being so photorealistic is pure jaw-dropping to witness.
The game is a short but sweet experience that is brimming with wholesomeness and a heroic adventure that will make you appreciate the effort and creativity done by Insomniac Games. Personally, it is one of my favorite Third-person platformer action games, which is chock-full of breathtaking beauty and unadulterated joy.
Pros
- The sound design and visuals of Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart are impressive.
- The narrative and distinctive characters are charming.
- The combat system is exciting and intriguing.
- Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart offers some solid controls.
- The diversity of weapons makes the game more interesting.
Cons
- Occasionally, Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart will freeze while being tested.
- Boss battles become repetitive as you progress through the main game.
- Upgrading guns can be tiresome in Ratchet And Clank Rift Apart.

Our Ranking | 14th Best Open World Game |
Awards | It was awarded the Most Anticipated game at The Game Awards 2021 |
Release Date | February 18, 2022 |
Developer And Publisher | Guerrilla Games, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Open-World RPG |
Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to Zero dawn, which was launched all the way back in 2017. The game takes players to a brand new location where our heroine, Aloy, and her friends must prepare themselves to face an ever-growing evil and prevent it from destroying the last generation of mankind and their civilization.
The perilous lands of the Forbidden West are known to new machines, so you will need to think twice before taking on fearsome foes such as the Spineslaughter or even returning ones such as the deadly Stalkers. You will need to equip Aloy with the Best Weapons and Armor to have a fighting chance against the new enemies. Among the artillery, such as the Best Bows in the game, including secret weapons such as the Regalla’s Wrath Bow.
However, exploration is the key focus here once again by Guerrilla Games, as they mainly wanted to expand the scope after the previous game and drastically improve it. So you will occasionally get sidetracked while collecting the Survey Drones and Black Boxes, which will heavily reward you. Not to mention the Tallnecks and Cauldrons are back, with more complex challenges that you need to overcome in order to complete them with relative ease.
Overall, HFW is a massive improvement over the first game in that the developers aimed to fix Zero Dawn’s mistakes and reinvent them. The game boasts an outstanding depth of Graphical Fidelity, even on the base PS4, making it one of our current generation’s hand-picked and favorite Third-person PS5 games.
Pros

- The graphics of Horizon Forbidden West are fascinating.
- The open world is immense and offers various locations to explore in Horizon Forbidden West.
- The voice acting and cast are exquisite in Horizon Forbidden West.
- A different variety of weapons makes Horizon Forbidden West more engaging and fun to play.
Cons
- The difficulty level is not well balanced in Horizon Forbidden West which is disappointing.
- The change in the protagonist’s personality at hasty times is irritating in Horizon Forbidden West.
- You have to explore different locations and find materials in order to get more powerful or else you cannot progress in Horizon Forbidden West.
- Horizon Forbidden has too many side quests which get tedious to do at some point in the game.
- Every spawning group of machines is shrouded by an invisible force field. The AI fully malfunctions when it leaves this area in Horizon Forbidden West.
6. Uncharted Legacy Of Thieves Collection

Awards | Uncharted 4 Won the award for the Best Game at the 2017 British Academy Awards |
Release Date | January 28, 2022 |
Developer And Publisher | Naughty Dog, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
The Uncharted games are easily regarded as the best-selling game on the PS3, and all three of them are remastered for the PS4 too. But our main focus is, of course, Uncharted four and Lost Legacy, two uncharted titles that have remarkable storytelling and visuals, all packaged into one bundle known as the Legacy Of Thieves Collection.
In Uncharted 4, you play as the fan-favorite Nathan Drake as he takes on one last job of finding the ancient treasure of Sir Francis Drake alongside his Brother, Sam, and other returning characters such as Sully and his wife, Elena Fisher. The gameplay involves Third Person combat where you can take down armed soldiers and thugs in either stealth or guerrilla-warfare-Esque gunplay.
Both games look beautiful thanks to the power of the PS5, as they offer upgraded visuals and performance, which makes them more fun and exhilarating than ever to play. The only caveat could be the absence of the Multiplayer Mode, which isn’t too bad since the main selling point of these games is, of course, their single-player brilliance.
Pros
- You get to play two masterpieces at once in the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection.
- The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection has some great graphics and sound design.
- One of the best storytelling games of all time.
- The combat is fantastic including the puzzle-solving.
- The car-chasing scenes in Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection are straight out of a movie.
- Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection offers more stealth and exploring options compared to the previous uncharted games.
Cons
- Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection is unduly scripted and predictable in some events.
- AI gets redundant which makes Uncharted 4 uninteresting.

Bloodborne is one of the few esteemed titles that lives up to its name of being one of the best Playstation exclusive games of all time. The fact that the PC fanbase is in high spirits every single time for a port of the game on that platform goes to show how much popularity it has gained since its initial release.
Bloodborne is quite different from the Souls series by From Software. The primary setting of the game is based on gothic victorian along with the influence of supernatural and cosmic entities. The lore is very intricate and rich with details in contrast to the medieval fantasy background of the Dark Souls titles.
You play as the Good Hunter, who awakes from a near-death experience in the city of Yharnam. You are now tasked with eliminating beasts, madmen, and other creatures who will stop you from ending the dreaded curse. Players can access a variety of weapons to use, which all have trick properties that allow them to function differently from each other. Awards | Won the Technical Achievement category at the 2020 British Academy awards |
Release Date | September 24, 2021 |
Developer And Publisher | Kojima Productions, Sony Interactive Entertainment |
Gameplay Type | Action-Adventure |
Hideo Kojima’s creative brilliance is known by most gamers through his Metal Gear Solid series. But after leaving Konami, he created Kojima Productions and sought to release games without any restrictions to stop him. Death Stranding was their first game, and just a year ago, it received the director’s cut remaster version.
The game is essentially about making deliveries across the post-apocalyptic lands of a ruinous American civilization. It depicts a fictional story about how a cataclysmic entity known as the BTs destroyed the world and the last living elements of humankind. It has forced human beings to take shelter in bunkers and facilities. It is now up to Sam Porter Bridges, our hero of the story, to reunite what’s left in the state to stand together.
The game is easily a hit-or-miss with most players as most of the gameplay revolves around making deliveries across facilities and bunkers for different NPCs and contracts. At other times, Sam and BB, his Bridge Baby, will also run into the menacing MULEs and the BTs, as mentioned earlier, who will pose an obstacle during your missions, so you will need to take them down using various means such as weaponry and other gadgets.
Personally, Death Stranding provides an unforgettable experience, unlike other games, as the enthralling storytelling alongside the masterful soundtrack grips the hearts of players who stick around with it till the very end of the journey.
The Multiplayer system is absolutely worthy of appraisal because of how it lets other players of the world help you on your deliveries using the structures and roads and other interactivity to let you know that you aren’t alone on your treacherous adventures throughout the world.
Pros
- Death Stranding offers a startling and gloomy world to explore for players.
- A truly clever social interaction system.

- Each mechanic in Death Stranding is a great complement to the others.
Cons
- Some of the boss battles can be irritating in Death Stranding.
- Several storylines are still unresolved which is lackluster.
- The narrative of Death Stranding dabbles itself a little bit.

The Mass Effect Trilogy was one of the pinnacles of western RPGs from Bioware, where at the time, they were also releasing bangers such as Dragon Age Origins and Knights Of The Old Republic. The ME trilogy remastered was announced shortly before its release in February of 2021.
All three of the games tell the heroic stories of Commander Shepard and their crew. The true charm of the games lies in the party members and memorable storytelling experience, which distinctively branches out with the 2nd game having one of the most iconic video game endings in history.

The lore and world-building of Mass Effect are incredibly rich and packed with different elements that most sci-fi gamers will absolutely love at first sight.

The game is the culmination of every past Soul Borne title, with the only difference being that the game is Open World and filled to the brim with rich storytelling and gameplay.

- The first few segments of Returnal overstay their welcome.
- The restrictive build options can be unsettling for some players.
The Wrap-Up
The Third Person camera perspective in Video Games was such a revolutionary design implementation that it further allowed for more creative freedom by developers and studios. It set the foundation for what many titles could later achieve later down the line, with 3D effects and visuals as the cherry on top of them.
It is the most popular choice of camera perspective that is used for a variety of reasons in modern-era games. It allows players to witness the actions and imagery of their main protagonists while still being able to witness the detail and work of the Open World environment or levels. One of the few cult classic titles that became trendsetters for using The Third-Person aspect was the original Tomb Raider and Zelda Ocarina of Time.
As of now, different games will even occasionally let you swap between camera angles, such as is the case with the Halo games and Cyberpunk 2077, which will let players toggle to Third-Person while driving a vehicle. It immerses you in a different way, one that lets you see everything happening on your screen.
We hope you enjoyed reading this comprehensive list of the Best Third-Person PS5 games. These are loved by many gamers around the world, and if you just recently bought a PlayStation 5 console, then they are all a must-play for every fan of the genre.
