27. Sudden Strike 4

Sudden Strike 4
Our Rankingbest real-time tactics warfare video game
Awards
Release DateMay 25, 2018
DeveloperKite Games
Gameplay TypeReal-time tactics

The game is an RTS with a World War II theme, and it was first released in 2000 on PC. It has since been ported to the Xbox Series X console, and it depicts the war as a series of disconnected instances that actually occur across a number of relatively small maps.

The game also features a limited number of playable units. Since Sudden Strike focuses more on the realistic end of whatever scale Real Time Strategy games lie on, the idea of having a plant that can produce multiple tanks a minute may seem a bit okayish. However, this is something that can be accomplished in any other war game as well.

How The Game Is Different Than Most War Games

In Sudden Strike 4, you are given the option to select one of three distinct generals to command your army after you have selected the campaign in which you wish to participate. Each general offers a distinctive bonus to your army contingent upon the skills that they have honed over the course of their career.

In addition to the traditional components of Sudden Strike 4’s single-player narrative, players will also have the opportunity to take part in free-form, challenge-based conflicts against computer-controlled enemies or participate in some online multiplayer combat.

Take, for example, the seemingly straightforward process of moving troops about the map. The fact that there is historical material available to see real places of the game in its proper setting. The game, on the other hand, is the whole package and sets a new standard for the kind of video games it belongs to since it has a large number of missions and many multiplayer choices that have a healthy player population.

Even if you put a lot of effort into planning out your strategy, there are instances when the game will still throw a wrench in the works and make your plan useless.

In Sudden Strike 4, the player has the opportunity to reenact a variety of significant battles that occurred during World War II. These battles include to mention just two examples, the Battle of the Bulge and the Normandy beach landings.

The landscapes themselves, although they are relatively huge, are not as broad as some of the maps featured in the main campaign. As a result, this does seem like the least substantial of the expansions that are included in the bundle.

Release DateMarch 2, 2021
DeveloperDarkflow Software
Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

Darkflow Software has just released its newest game, and it’s called Enlisted. It takes advantage of the novel concept of having a limited amount of player slots, but after that, it assigns each human player to a team with computer-controlled counterparts.

The game’s most entertaining features are consistent of a lower quality than they should be. To put it mildly, the most problematic elements of it are appalling. The music is beautifully crafted, but it’s simply the standard fare from World War 2 and the war game, which you could or might not like listening to, depending on your own taste.

Concerning the troops’ ability to move about in this game, I truly cannot think of enough negative feedback to share about it at this point in time. Put to one side, the issues that arise from participating in a free-to-play game that relies heavily on in-app purchases (microtransactions). There are pockets of opportunity for enjoyment scattered throughout.

In Enlisted, you’ll take part in a variety of different kinds of combat, including battles involving infantry, tanks, and aircraft. There is not a single thing that is good about it. Although there are a great number of maps to choose from for each of the ongoing campaigns, none of them really stand out.

25. Splitgate

Splitgate
Our Rankingbest free-to-play future warfare game of 2022
Awards
Release DateSeptember 15, 2022
Developer1047 Games
Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

The portals in Splitgate are quite similar to the gateways in the Portal series of video games, and they provide players the ability to use two different inter-spatial portals in order to move across the area more swiftly. Every battle consists of merely eight players, all of whom have the same weapons and attributes, squaring off against one another in a somewhat contained area.

How This Arena Shooter Reflects Advanced Warfare Scenarios

Splitgate is a very standard example of an arena shooter in most respects. The only way for players to get different types of weapons is to pick up firepower that has been strategically placed at various predetermined spawn places around the area.

These warp gates can only be launched from the Portal Launcher onto certain types of surfaces. However, there is still a degree of purity since certain game types deliver fatalities at a faster pace than others.

It has come to our attention that a pure combat rifle shootout in Splitgate is greatly enhanced by the presence of luminous holes in spacetime. You just need to fire one of them on a wall and the other someplace else to create an immediate doorway between the two locations.

Similar to Portal, Splitgate gives players the opportunity to experiment with two different trans-dimensional warp tunnels. Players begin a match in Splitgate with the same loadout as their rivals, just as they would in any other normal arena shooter. This is one of the game’s many hallmarks.

In a manner that no other Halo game since Halo 3 has been able to replicate, the game brings back the nostalgia of playing the first Halo. Fortunately, Splitgate takes care of both of these issues, and the game will forever be compared to a combination of Halo and Portal.

The use of Splitgate is a kind of dark magic in video games. There is no ability to personalize your loadout, and there are no Perks or abilities available. Maps and gameplay reminiscent of Halo’s first-person shooter are combined with the titular element of Valve’s Portal series in Splitgate, a multiplayer first-person shooter video game that is both innovative and significantly inspired by games of the past.

24. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands

AwardsWon Ping Awards under Best Graphics category in 2017
Release DateMarch 7, 2017
DeveloperUbisoft Paris, Ubisoft Milan
Gameplay TypeTactical shooter

Ghost Recon: Wildlands is a cooperative first-person shooter that can support up to four players at once. During a thunderstorm, the light will shine through the clouds and illuminate the highlands in the distance, but the environment immediately surrounding you will be colored by a grey sky that is heavy. This should give you an idea of how well the game is designed aesthetically.

You are tasked with making your way through a beleaguered Bolivia, where a worldwide drug cartel known as Santa Blanca has ensnared the police, the government, and the public in its harsh tyranny. You must battle your way across the country.

Fighting A War With Cartel Still Counts As A War Game

As soon as the game starts, you will be sent to a lobby page. From this screen, you will be able to invite a maximum of three additional players into your game.

Over the course of its history, Ubisoft has shown a mastery of the art of effectively adapting its open-world formula to a variety of titles. If you don’t play the game online, it will remind you at frequent intervals that connecting with other players is as easy as pressing a button, even if you don’t play the game online.

It becomes immediately apparent how strongly Ubisoft wants you to play Ghost Recon: Wildlands in cooperative mode right from the beginning of the game. Ghost Recon: Wildlands has the same feeling as the previous game in the franchise, which is that it lacks a genuine identity.

Operation Kingslayer gives you the task of bringing down the Santa Blanca cartel and wiping out its top leader, El Sueo, in the process of doing so. Your job is to destabilize and eventually destroy the cartel.

Visually speaking, it’s a piece of art, and it makes the game stand out in the list of best war games on the Xbox Series X. The intense gunfights aesthetically varied open environment, and varied arsenal of weaponry all contribute to a positive initial impression of the game. Both fascinating and perplexing is the contrast that may be found between the visual features of the game and the conceptual structure.

23. Verdun

Verdun
Our Rankingbest realistic FPS game of 2021
Awards
Release Date15 June 2021
DeveloperM2H, Blackmill Games
Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

The game is not a first-person shooter arcade game; rather, it is a first-person shooter simulator. Because of this, the game has realistic values, such as the fact that most bullets kill, weapons have accurate load times, and the landscape is tough to maneuver. The game has a fantastic feeling of location and is packed to the gills with player-created spontaneous events that may occur on the battlefield.

The fact that there are just two game modes available in Verdun does not exactly lend itself to an abundance of diversity when it comes to various gaming situations. The fact that there are no other game kinds available is not a problem since Frontlines is more than capable of filling the void left by their absence.

A Realistic War Shooter Game Where You Can Die Any Moment

If you walk into Verdun with the intention of cutting through the area and unloading hot lead into the faces of everyone and anybody with complete and utter recklessness, then you can quite reasonably anticipate being driven into the ground very soon.

Fans of the historical component and authenticity who want to discover a location neglected by popular shooters would be wise to play this game. Despite the fact that it is not the finest entry in the genre, it is still worth checking out. Verdun is a title that still has a ways to go, but it shows a lot of promise.

Verdun is a vicious and violent multiplayer shooter, the likes of which we haven’t seen in a long time, and it connects its moniker with a fight that took place in the region of France that has the same name. Despite being stalled by the reality of the frequently sluggish pace of the Great War and all the while faltering on its own hurdles, it comes near to conveying the spirit of warfare. However, it does not quite succeed in doing so.

Verdun is a risky game since it is a first-person shooter placed during an era of history that is more often explored in strategy games. This sad era is brought back to life in the game, which recreates the excitement, terror, and monotony of fighting in the trenches during World War I.

Verdun does an excellent job of harnessing the resources of the modern first-person shooter simulator to recreate an age that has been mostly lost, and it passes with good scores in this endeavor.

Gameplay TypeAir combat simulation

With Ace Combat 7, the series returns to its roots instead of making significant alterations to the gameplay. In particular, the operation in which I was charged with destroying twenty tankers despite the fact that a sandstorm was disrupting the radar and making it exceptionally difficult to locate them.

Despite the fact that I haven’t played an Ace Combat game since Ace Combat 6, which was released in 2007, everything seemed easy and straightforward from the very beginning.

There Is A War In Skies That We Don’t Always See

Players who are looking for a game that has gameplay that is really entertaining need go no further than Ace Combat 7. Simply said, the quality of Ace Combat 7 is unmistakable to everyone who cares to look. The environment of Skies Unknown is stunningly lifelike, there is a wide range of fun missions to do, and there is even a cause to be enthusiastic about clouds.

Playing Ace Combat 7 feels nearly exactly the same as playing a FIFA game in the sense that the controls are intuitive from the get-go. Although having solid aerial combat is essential for a game that features jet fighters, Ace Combat already has this trait in plenty.

The experience of playing the game is generally enjoyable. However, there are sporadic spikes in a challenge that might cause playtime to be reduced. The dogfights in the air are among the greatest this generation has ever seen, and the individual missions will remain fresh in the minds of those who have played the game for a very long time.

The series was dormant for many years, during which time the brand underwent several iterations of experimentation. In most cases, they are not generally a result of the actual fighting but rather the score limitations or time constraints that are set on missions.

This game has a degree of gloss that truly makes it seem like something exceptional. This can be seen in the wonderful visual effects that occur while flying through cloud cover, as well as in the fluid weaving of aerial battle.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is welcome in the series to what the franchise was like when it was at its peak, providing an exhilarating view of advanced air combat while also telling a story with an emotional core, a moral compass, and personal stakes. This game truly deserves to become the best war game on Xbox Series X under the aerial warfare category.

Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

The current atmosphere that made the previous games in the series so successful is brought back for Battlefield 2042. In theory, Battlefield 2042 should be the pinnacle of the franchise, but in practice, it falls short in practically every category that matters the most. The elements necessary to create awe-inspiring war games are now available, however, these elements do not always come together.

You’re all part of a broader push, with the team structure enabling you to feel like a member of a group. The Breakthrough mode seems to place a strong emphasis on collaboration. Battlefield 2042 has a lot of issues, but it also has a lot of promise. This BF video game also features some of the best weapons in the series.

How Battlefield 2042 Failed At Few Gameplay Elements

As our unit performed its bit in capturing each sector in Breakthrough, we had the sensation that we were parts of a war-fueled mechanism. This is because Breakthrough provides a concentrated warfare experience. In this mission, a group of up to four players will search satellite pods located all over the globe for data drives, after which they will remove those drives from the pods.

Wherever you go, there is a good chance that you will run across at least one person. You may not always encounter a large number of antagonists, but you will almost certainly do so.

Due to the absence of linearity in the Battlefield series, it has remained the opposite of the Call of Duty games. Battlefield built a reputation for itself by being a chaotic shooter. Perhaps the greatest advantage of Battlefield 2042’s increased player count in All-Out Warfare is that there’s simply no easing up.

This time around, there will not be a single-player narrative, so it will be up to the brand-new Hazard Zone option to give some welcome diversion from the large-scale fighting. Battlefield 2042 is set in the not-too-distant future and evokes a sense of comforting familiarity with its use of Apache helicopters and reliable machine guns while also expanding the formula further with the addition of things like drones and wingsuits.

Battlefield 2042, in contrast to its forebears, is a fully multiplayer video game. It provides three distinct multiplayer experiences, each of which will either complement the way you play video games or cause you to feel bored. It is a series that features large numbers of players, multi-layered levels that encourage player creation, and all-out fighting with vehicles and dynamic damage.

20. Tannenberg

Awards
Release DateJuly 24, 2020
DeveloperM2H, Blackmill Games
Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

In contrast to some of the more theatrical and emotional first-person shooters that can be found on the market today, this game has a surprisingly distinct and fanatical devotion to realism, which helps to set it apart from its competition. Tannenberg isn’t that type of game, and it’s a strategically focused, clever shooter that lays a great premium on realism and larger battlefield plans.

How This Game Makes You Feel Horrors Of War

In Tannenberg, you aren’t some warrior or superhuman soldier. You’re simply another corpse in one of the numerous fights on the Eastern Front of WWI. Although the game’s commitment to factual accuracy and knowledge is excellent, the polish that makes it potentially “interesting” is absent. Due to the weak execution, it comes out as stiff and is delivered in an unnatural manner.

The primary gameplay mode in Tannenberg is called Maneuvers, and it involves a conflict for control of territory over a wide battlefield. Tannenberg is the follow-up to the previous Verdun, and the parallels are obvious to notice. Your demise will most likely not be noticed since it will have been caused by a sniper shot or by a gunman that you did not see.

Taking control of certain zones will result in bonuses for the player, such as reduced cooldown times for artillery and quicker respawn times for reinforcements. Both games make use of a subdued color palette, and although each is let down by dated aesthetics, the music design in both is outstanding.

They also take huge chances with their gameplay decisions, striving to deliver a more chronologically ‘authentic’ feel. Tannenberg’s recently released console game gives the impression that it was originally conceived for PC rather than the Xbox One or Xbox Series X.

Release Date4 June 2021
DeveloperCI Games
Gameplay TypeTactical shooter, stealth

SGWC2 is, at its heart, a realistic sniper game; thus, players who have a strong aversion to graphic violence may want to look for something a bit less brutal to play, especially considering the kill cam, which can be rather horrific at times. CI Games has made excellent use of the additional increase in both power and resolution that this platform provides if played on Xbox Series X.

SGWC2 is not only a difficult experience but also an entertaining one since it has roughly 20 contracts that need to be “terminated” and a variety of regions that may be discovered. It is by far the complete version of the game, and one might make the case that it is the finest game in the series to this point.

The game is an enjoyable next-generation experience when played on the Xbox Series X, and the developers deserve praise for incorporating some new gaming technology with the franchise, such as 4K graphics, quick load times, and immersive control mechanics.

Visual choices such as 60 frames per second are now the norm, and a stunning 4K resolution choice has been added to the previously available 30 frames per second alternative.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 nonetheless makes its way to the current generation in sparkling condition, delivering a much cleaner graphical experience, a better resolution, and many rather entertaining new controller features. Because not all killing involves eliminating your foes, you have the ability to personalize your loadouts with a variety of sniper rifles and other weapons, similar to what you would find in other realistic shooters.

Sniping and stealth hardly go hand in hand, but Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 proves that it is nothing short of a masterpiece, and that is why it is among the best war games on the Xbox Series X list.

Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

The storyline of the video game opens close to the conclusion of World War 2 when the Axis powers have been decisively beaten and are in a state of chaos. This time around, the narrative centers on a group of World War II warriors who are culled from a variety of countries that were allies and come together to create Task Force One.

Vanguard more than lives up to expectations with yet another triple threat that includes a spectacular single-player campaign, mayhem in multiplayer, and a beautifully executed reinvention of the classic Zombies mode. The band Vanguard does a great job of hitting all of those reassuring notes.

In order to put a halt to a covert scheme that would see the Third Reich continue to exist, Task Force One is sent to Germany in order to blend in with the local population in a stealthy manner.

The atmosphere and the environment are quite traditional for a Call of Duty game. There are a plethora of first-person shooter game modes and features available, which will satiate the hunger of any gamer. Having said that, there have been many fewer instances in which I have felt outgunned when participating in multiplayer, as though possessing a greater number of weapon attachments was necessary to achieving victory in the conflict.

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s setting may be World War II, but players still have a wide variety of choices to choose from during the game.

If you’re planning to play the game, then you must toggle all the right settings. If you check our best COD Vanguard settings guide, you will strike the perfect balance between smooth FPS and pleasing-to-look graphics quality.

Gameplay TypeRole-playing

Fans of post-apocalyptic role-playing games, or even role-playing games in general, are likely to recognize many of the game’s aspects when they play Wasteland 3. There are some real complaints that can be made about Wasteland 3, but they aren’t that significant. If we focused too much on picking apart specific problems, it would take away from our overall opinion of the game.

This is due, in part, to the fact that the Wasteland series is credited for virtually inventing the post-apocalyptic role-playing game (RPG), as well as the computer RPG in general. The process of choosing decisions starts right from the off when you choose or construct a team of badass hombre.

How The Game Predicts Post-Apocalyptic War Scenarios

You are able to construct your own ranger squad in Wasteland 3. The plot of the novel included my misfit band of Rangers responding to a request from “The Patriarch of Colorado,” who asked me to resolve his major problems and work toward establishing a feeling of tranquility throughout the area.

The plot was interesting, and there were a number of characters who were developed enough that I wanted to find out more about them. Overall, I thought the tale was quite good.

Wasteland 3 does an excellent job of covering the mythology of the world and of the Rangers. The game also does a terrific job of expanding upon the story of the Wasteland. However, you will later construct or enlist a large number of more characters and travel in a group of six, these two will serve as your core Rangers, and it is prudent to design individuals that complement one another.

The addition of voices elevated this experience and worked well with the text. There is a wide selection of pre-built characters, but making use of the many roleplaying opportunities provided by the game is what makes creating rangers from scratch such a fantastic experience. If you’re getting the impression that Wasteland 3 is ripping from another game, you’re probably wrong, and it’s really the opposite way around.

Gameplay TypeAction adventure, first-person shooter

The narrative of “The New Colossus” centers on the United States of America and how its people have responded to the election of their new leaders. The opening half an hour of the game does an excellent job of letting the player feel genuine animosity against two characters: Blazkowicz’s father and the version of Frau Engel from The New Order, who has returned.

How Would The World Be If Nazis Won The Great War?

In Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, this aspect is expanded upon by delving more into the history of Blazkowicz while also enhancing the already impressive gunplay of the first game. They succeeded in developing one of the most absurd video games ever developed, as well as a game that does not shy away from being explicit about the values of equality and fairness it promotes.

As with the last game, the Nazis won the war by making use of sophisticated technology that they stole from other countries. It not only makes Wolfenstein II a better game in every manner, but it also creates an experience that is among the finest first-person shooters of this age.

Terror-Billy, as he is known by the Nazis, and his group has the intention of initiating a revolution, the primary objective of which is for BJ to murder a significant number of Nazis. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is a game that is split into two halves, and happily, each of them is fantastic in its own right.

The narrative is engaging and will continue to throw twists and turns your way, while the gameplay of eliminating Nazis is fun from the very beginning to the very end. Players have a lot of leeway in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to choose how they wish to approach different scenarios, which is one of the game’s many strengths. Release DateOctober 5, 2021
DeveloperBlack Matter
Gameplay TypeTactical shooter, first-person shooter

Dropping into Hell Let Loose is intimidating, as players without prior experience may spend a significant amount of time either traveling to far-off goals or falling victim to invisible enemies. In contrast to other first-person shooters, Hell Let Loose is not concerned with the kill-to-death ratio of its players.

However, in order for such events to take place in Hell Let Loose, it is necessary for players to put out the effort that is required. This is due to the game’s more realistic approach to the concept of online combat.

Strategic Shooter, Deep Survival Elements & Ingredients Of The Game

In the end, Hell Let Loose may be described as a tough shooter in every possible definition of the term. Because there are no in-game tutorials to bring you up to speed, you will end up dying several times in the first few hours of the game. Often, you will not even be able to see your enemy. These elements make the game an excellent addition to realistic shooters and, without a doubt, the best war game on Xbox Series X.

Hell Let Loose has the potential to be incredible if players are ready to speak with one another through voice, collaborate to accomplish both local and overarching goals, and have the tolerance for playing at a slower pace.

The game that we have here is a strategic 50-on-50 shooter that takes place over enormous landscapes, making communication among teams very essential. Nevertheless, if players are willing to put in the effort to get acquainted with the game’s complex systems and mechanisms, they will be rewarded with the opportunity to enjoy a war game that is both profoundly analytical and tactical.

Those who are determined to see it through to the end are far more likely to have a good time, despite the fact that it is quite simple to get disheartened in the beginning.

Switching between two different game modes will need you to choose between the American, German, or Soviet troops, based on where you are located. Players who want to get their fill of World War Two gun action in a hurry won’t find it in Hell Let Loose, so they should search elsewhere.

The visceral battle that players are thrown into in Hell Let Loose may provide a terrifying and exhilarating experience that is on par with what the very finest current shooters have to offer.

Players who are looking for a rush will find it in dogfights with maneuverable hunting machines while playing the game. At the same time., players who are looking for a more relaxing experience, however, will find it more enjoyable to hover over a bomber at a safe height. Sadly, after you depart the field of combat, War Thunder starts to go in a completely other direction.

The Game Exemplifies How Aerial Assault Could Turn The Tide Of A War

War Thunder has an additional gameplay option called “Domination,” in which players may either land on neutral runways with the assistance of their ground forces or seize control of the runways themselves and then capture the base. War Thunder, in contrast to its main rival, seeks to mix the flying experience of a simulation with the excitement and accessibility of a traditional arcade shooter.

These standardized controls are used in the Xbox One X edition; a single stick is responsible for controlling all of the movement of your aircraft. War Thunder ingeniously accommodates every imaginable sort of player. In the downtime between missions, you’ll find yourself thrown back into the game’s confusing menus, which get very little attention in terms of either explanation or the significance of the information they provide.

While our machine gun salvos regularly penetrate physically harmless regions, the game’s dynamic damage model, on the one hand, permits opponents who seem to be immune to damage and allow them to continue flying about with a smile on their face.

In the same vein, all it takes is one bullet to enter the cockpit for the pilot to be killed by it. It took me a significant amount of effort and exploration merely to figure out how to alter the research choices I had and enhance my crew.

War Thunder has a wealth of alternatives for flight sticks and other peripherals, ensuring that even the most dedicated gamers are well-catered for.

The primary campaign for Sniper Elite 5 consists of nine objectives; nevertheless, as a pre-order bonus, the game also includes a tenth mission in which players are tasked with tracking down and eliminating Hitler himself. It is possible to finish each assignment in under an hour, although the amount of time needed to do so is primarily determined by the player’s level of attention to detail and curiosity about the environment.

During the process of eliminating foes, there is a significant amount of sniper action, with the recognizable x-ray appearing for the most gruesome deaths. Following the round in slow motion and seeing it puncture the skull, cranium, and brain of an unprepared Nazi soldier is incredibly rewarding, despite the fact that it is not a novel gameplay element by any stretch of the imagination.

A Worthy Sequel To Poke Nazi Eyes With Sniper Rounds

A fresh new game mode called Axis Invasions has been added to Sniper Elite 5. You have the ability to drop into the level from a number of different starting points, and there are various methods to accomplish each goal. This feature, which is becoming more common in online games, gives users the ability to break into your game in the middle of a mission and try to eliminate you.

Sniper Elite 5 is a game that does not try to be anything other than what it is and succeeds in doing so. Fans of the Sniper Elite series will not be disappointed with the gameplay’s focus on close-quarters fighting. There is at least one way to complete a task in Sniper Elite 5 using stealth.

It is difficult not to question where the series may go from here since the recognizable location during World War II only offers itself a limited number of possible options for the storyline. The main missions in Sniper Elite 5 are portrayed as semi-open world locations loaded with many methods for fulfilling the goal. In addition, there are side quests that may be completed if the player so chooses.

While there is so much to do in the game, acquiring best sniper rifles, learning the best survival strategies, and engaging yourself in the kill challenge list are a few activities you shouldn’t miss. There are also VIP Flags, Secret Weapons, and raid weapons lab locations that might interest you in the game as side activities. Consider reading our Sniper Elite 5 walkthrough and ensure you don’t miss a thing.

Sniper Warrior Contracts 2 may be able to pull off stealth plus sniper interests together. However, Sniper Elite 5 does the job much better. This is why we place the game higher in rank than Contracts 2 in our best war games on the Xbox Series X list.

Division 2’s exploration of the Dark Zone is an intriguing concept that means new layers of stress, mistrust, and deception to a game that already includes increased fighting. These elements are some of the best PvP elements that make the game even more exciting.

This gives Division 2 the feel of a “living game,” as both foes and friends, as well as citizens, are continually moving about the city and patrolling areas of interest while others collect resources or run to someone’s rescue. You may accompany a group of people and defend them while they harvest food from camps, or you can aid patrolling guards take advantage of two opposing enemy groups battling each other.

The Game Showcases How Washington Looks After A Bio-Weapon Attack

You may accompany a group of people and defend them while they harvest food from camps, or you can aid patrolling guards take advantage of two opposing enemy groups battling each other.  Narrative devices, such as audio logs discovered in the environment, contribute very little in the way of significance, although they are available to players as an optional part of the game.

The wonderful weather impacts across the globe provide a fitting backdrop for the earth’s naturally stunning vistas. The Division 2, like its predecessor, is a game that is powered by the Frostbite Engine, and it is ridiculously impressive in terms of its visuals. There are no character arcs; rather, there are just sudden setups and repercussions.

The variety of adversary kinds continues to ensure that combat engagements are difficult, and the variety of equipment that I acquire and pick up continues to give me the impression that it is unique and precious, as well as to urge me to explore new methods to play. Even if the game does not really break new ground in any meaningful sense, it does provide a rock-solid basis as a successor to the game that came before it.

Release DateMarch 10, 2020

Gameplay TypeBattle royale, first-person shooter

Call of Duty Warzone is a long-time running series of FPS, competitive multiplayer video games that just keep coming. Warzone brings in a lot of new elements to the franchise and revamps the gameplay elements with the battle royale formula.

By the time COD Warzone was released, the video game FPS industry was tilting towards the battle royale genre, and each franchise was hoping to become successful. Apparently, COD Warzone successfully pulled off the wild card, and the player base of old COD games jumped on the band wagon of the battle royale genre.

Not all BR games became successful, as Battlefield’s Stormfront mode, which was essentially a BR mode, failed miserably. At the same time, COD Warzone gameplay mechanics and BR formula saw amazing growth. Considering all the franchise has evolved from 4vs4 PvP matches to a big lobby of players competing in the BR formula, COD Warzone is an easy pick for the best war games on Xbox Series X Console.

If you happen to play COD Warzone on PC and it crashes every now and then, consider reading our Warzone Error Code Torch, Whitelist error, diver error code, and dev error 5761 guides.

Release DateNovember 20, 2018
DeveloperDICE
Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter, battle royale

Battlefield V was a welcome change after Battlefield 1. Both games are incredibly great, so don’t take a wrong impression from us. It’s just that BF1 had very old guns, tanks, aerial warfare, and other tidbits that made it look like an ancient game after you came from the likes of Battlefield Hardline and Battlefield 4.

BFV brought new modes, especially the infamous Stormfront mode. This was exclusively a battle royale mode and EA DICE’s first take on the BR genre. Unfortunately, the game mode did not receive the reception as other competitor BR video games did. While competing with PUBG, COD Warzone, Apex Legends, Valorant, and a few other excellent BR games, the Stormfront mode felt like a nerfed-down mode that EA DICE introduced.

Minus the BR mode, BFV is an excellent world war shooter game that still shines on a PlayStation 5 system. If you have never tried this game on PS4, and you’re willing to give it a go on your next-gen console, then consider starting with Battlefield V.

BFV is a complete battlefield experience with modern-day and-age graphics. On top of that, the game also features a battle royale. This is something not many games have, and therefore we find this title a complete package in the best war games on the Xbox Series X list.

Release DateMarch 19, 2013
DeveloperPeople Can Fly, Epic Games
Gameplay TypeThird-person shooter

GoW Judgement is a spin-off of the original Gears of War trilogy. The story, gameplay features, and mechanics still are synonymous with the OG Trilogy, but the game’s story offers a unique perspective than the first three games.

If you love COG, slaying locusts, and throwing grenades on swarm holes, then Gears of War: Judgment is an excellent war game that presents a challenge and fun moments at the same time.

Much of the difference between the intentional tempo of this game and that of the Gears 3 narrative wasn’t obvious enough before, it becomes even more apparent in the Aftermath campaign epilogue. Because the game introduces Gears of War: Judgment’s campaign to such novel and unconventional concepts, it has an impact that is on par with that of the first game, which was released in 2006.

Both the single-player story mode and the multiplayer mode implement daring new concepts rather than emulating what made the franchise successful in the past.

Release DateDecember 1, 2020
DeveloperUbisoft Montreal
Gameplay TypeTactical shooter

Rainbow Six Siege has always been a game that requires players to make strategic choices and then cope with the repercussions of those actions. On the other hand, with each passing year of operators and modifications, the possibilities for making firefights have been more developed and expanded.

This is a positive shift, yet, more participation results in a high degree of unpredictability. The process of learning the different operators and how to breach or guard a room with them might be a tedious and laborious one, but Siege makes it simple to comprehend where you went wrong.

Rainbow Six Siege is a first-person shooter that stands out in fascinating ways because of its emphasis on collaboration and strategy rather than just shooting skill. Additionally, the game’s steady trickle of new levels and operators has turned it into a fantastically diversified FPS. It is more difficult for new players to get up to speed now that there is so much new material, and I wish that more effort had been made to solve this issue.

Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

As part of its mission to redefine what it signifies to be a Halo game, Halo Infinite casts Master Chief in the role of a hesitant caring father for a young and naïve artificial intelligence and places him in an open-world environment.

It seems that the series made the right decision by taking that chance since Infinite turned out to be an outstanding video game. Because of the incredible Grappleshot, the other pieces in Chief’s arsenal appear a little lacking in quality when compared to it, and some aspects of the narrative aren’t as strong as they may be.

343 Industries has had a tough time with the creation of Halo Infinite. This is not just due to the game’s protracted and stormy development cycle but also due to the company’s image as the trendsetter for the Halo franchise.

It would seem that 343 Industries is on schedule to offer a Halo game with the release of Halo Infinite. This would be accomplished by paying tribute to the series’ rich history while also laying a strong groundwork for the series’ bright future.

Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

In a number of respects, Halo 5 is the most daring Halo game to date. The multiplayer component of the series has reached its pinnacle, and there is one mode in particular that I know I will play many times again. However, there is also the campaign, which has fluid new mobility and open-level design, but it is unable to weave a tale that is consistent with these features.

There are hints here of a wonderful shooter, but key narrative components seem undercooked, which prevents the most recent installment in this series from reaching its full potential for greatness.

Because there was so much at risk, Halo 5 needed to be either a fresh refinement of previous victories or a revolutionary shift in the status quo. Both of these goals are not met by the campaign’s efforts at all.

The single-player narrative may seem like a decent, if a little outmoded, interpretation of the first-person shooter, but the game’s multiplayer modes make a considerably stronger effort to shake things up than the story does.

What made Gears such a terrific game over a decade ago is still what makes it such a wonderful game now. It is a gorgeous game that has clever cover systems, excellent core fighting, and a tone that is committed to being over the top.

You may notice some wear and tear now and again, but such instances are so seldom that you won’t even be able to tell that you’re playing a remastered version. The Gears of War: Ultimate Edition video game is an excellent spot to begin the series if you haven’t already gotten into it or if you’re just looking for a refresher.

The storyline of Gears of War has a few minor issues that, in a game of lower quality, would be game-breaking, and the game’s shortcomings are easier to see today than a decade before. However, Gears of War’s legitimacy as a timeless shooter seems less questionable than it ever has before.

Because of this, playing Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is, without a doubt, the finest method to comprehend why this genre still rocks & why the game is still the best war game on Xbox Series X and will likely remain in the future as well.

Gameplay TypeFirst-person shooter

Titanfall 2 brings a vibrancy to the table that its precursor, Titanfall, was unable to. Titanfall, the original game in the series, maintained its frenetic pace for the length of every battle. Titanfall 2, on the other hand, recognizes that often slowing things down for a few seconds may make things a great deal more pleasant in the long run. Titanfall 2 is, in many respects, the game that Respawn ought to have developed and released in 2013.

Titanfall 2 is an exception to the rule that it is very unusual for a sequel to improve upon the whole of the initial vision in such a consistent and uniform manner. The compelling action and platforming gameplay of its great campaign is built on top of its amazing movements, which serve as the game’s basis.

The next level of online pleasure that players will have in the game is also going to come from the over-the-top competitive multiplayer. Titanfall 2 is Respawn’s realization of its initial concept for the game, including improvements to the game’s progression, personalization, and diversity, as well as a more developed narrative. And to top it all off, playing it is simply a whole lot of fun.

Gameplay TypeThird-person shooter

The fourth installment in the Gears of War series is a shooter that is on the verge of becoming something more. Nevertheless, despite the fact that it is a step in the right direction for the illustrious brand, it still has a ways to go. The manner in which Gears of War 4 reassesses its multiplayer modes is a source of encouragement as well as an opportunity for innovation. An otherwise exciting shooter, though, is let down by its mediocre campaign and a number of technical difficulties.

The game is very polished and comprehensive, achieving a level of refinement and concentration that very few other games are able to achieve. Additionally, it offers very good options for playing alone, with other people, or against other people.

Gears of War 4 may be a minor step down from Gears 3 in certain ways, but it effectively carries the franchise ahead onto the platforms and reinforces the new normal, and fight for the Gears of War 5 sequel.

Battlefield 4 is a superb multiplayer game that fully realizes its potential and lives up to its name. The title demonstrates without a reasonable doubt that the use of destruction as a tactical tactic is an important component of competitive conflict. Since of this, Battlefield 4 is able to fulfill its full potential because it has two deadly Commanders that are able to unleash the best in their respective teams.

Additionally, the single-player campaign of the title is a letdown, despite the fact that it is a functional and well-known game that has exhilarating combat and spectacular spectacle.

The multiplayer mode in Battlefield 4 is a ton of fun, and it is undeniably the best war game on Xbox Series X to experience or either come back to this venerable series to try it out for the first time. Despite the fact that the campaign is moving in the right way, it is still only a sideshow compared to the main event.

Battlefield 4’s multiplayer mode is a fascinating adventure that, if you have never participated in it before, you should do so on PS5 since it is both wide and thrilling, a difficult and liberating video game in the franchise.

The small talk, action sequences, and hot-headed arguments are the moments where Gears 5 excels, as it takes advantage of the connections between its characters in order to push concerns about the cost of COG’s dominance.

It is nothing particularly amazing, and once again, it relies on the happenstance that key persons of a given bloodline just so occur to be related to one other. This is an extremely successful game that contributes to the progression of the Gears of War franchise by bringing some powerful and logical improvements to the otherwise conventional Gears of War 4 gameplay.

Gears 5 is primarily a comeback of those greatest components from previous Gears of War games, but with a concentration on making the game seem a bit more flexible to your individual methods of playing the game. In Gears 5, there is an option for everyone, regardless of whether they like competitive or quickplay, story or co-op, and enough content to reward players for the effort they put in and the skills they acquire.

It’s possible that Gears 5 makes some of the same narrative errors as its ancestors, and it’s also possible that it doesn’t stray too far from the series’ established canon, but the fact that it adds fresh concepts to the mix is motivation enough for fans to keep coming back.
