Credit Farming In Callisto Protocol

They can be farmed in different ways and in different places, and you will be able to use them in exchange for certain consumables as well as upgrades for your weapons and equipment at the Reforge Station in Callisto Protocol.

There are a lot of different methods that you can use to farm Callisto credits while you are on your venture to escape the Black Iron Prison in the game. After you have obtained a certain number of Callisto Credits, you can then go ahead and unlock and find all of the weapons in the game and buy some of the best upgrades available for them, along with consumables to help you in your journey.

In our guide below, you will be looking at how to farm the Callisto credits in Callisto Protocol and how to spend them the best way in the game.

Kill The Enemies

The most important step in credit farming is to kill as many enemies as possible in the game. At the same time, it is true that when you are trying to escape, farming for credit is the last thing on your mind.

However, killing as many enemies as possible is important if you want to get your hands on the Callisto credits. Most of the loot that you encounter in the game is RNG based. However, the loot you obtain from the Biophage enemies and the drop tables can be manipulated.

Therefore, it is important to prioritize Biophage enemies over other enemies if you are looking to get credits in the game. After killing the biophage enemies, you will be able to obtain ammo, health, and several credits to help you out on your journey.

The most common drop that you are going to get is probably ammo and health. Therefore, if you are running low on ammunition and HP, killing the Biophage enemies will help you deal with low ammo and low health as well. While farming for credits, make sure that your ammunition and health are maximum so there are more chances of getting credits as loot.

However, keep in mind that you are not going to get a lot of credit for killing enemies. But if you still want to get ammunition and healing items killing enemies should be your priority.

Tips To Kill Enemies For Credits

You can consider the following tips if you are looking to farm credits efficiently from enemies.

  • Make sure to dodge in close-quarter combat as much as you can. Dodging is the best way to counter attacks and help you maintain your health during the battle. If you don’t counter your attacks, you’re going to get a lot of damage and again.
  • Use your GRP whenever possible to bring the monsters together. While the purpose of GRP is to grab items and throw things, you can also use the GRP to bring ranged enemies closer to you. This is an important tip to consider if you don’t have a lot of bullets in your inventory to counter them and plan on killing them through melee weapons.
  • Try aiming for the weak points of your enemies as much as possible to take them down quickly and farm them for credit.
  • Also, make sure to keep your gun loaded; otherwise, taking down a single enemy just for a few credits might become a harder task than you expected.
  • Another great tip is to attack swarms of enemies so you will get a better chance of farming credits.

Stomp On The Corpses

Another way of getting the credits in the game is to stomp on any enemy corpses that you come across. Throughout your venture, you will see a lot of dead enemies and Biophages lying about. While killing the enemies also gives you a lot of credits stomping on the dead ones is an easier way to get the credits in the game.

Keep an eye out for a dead corpse, and when you see one move close enough to it, order your character to jump and stomp over it. However, most of the time, the enemies would not drop anything. Therefore, you must try to stomp on every enemy you see to get a few credits.

If you have played Dead Space then you will find this mechanism really similar. Furthermore, you will also be able to get some healing items and ammunition from these dead corpses.

Remember that stomping on enemies will only work if you have killed them. Any need dead inmates or prison guards you encounter throughout the game will not drop anything. Therefore, avoid any enemies you see lying about that you have not killed.

Sell The Ammo

The best part about the Callisto Protocol is that you will be getting a lot of stuff in the game. The more you progress in the game, the more items you will be able to collect. After a fair bit of progression, you will have enough ammunition to get you through the game. In case you have any extra ammunition or weapons in your inventory, you can try selling them in exchange for some credits.

We recommend selling the ammunition of guns and weapons that you are not using to get the credits in Callisto. Some of these ammunitions will help you get a large number of credits in the game. However, keep in mind that you should only be selling the ammunition you have when you are absolutely sure that exchanging them for credits will not be fatal for you later on in the game.

It is important always to keep yourself loaded with ammunition because there will be many enemies you will face in the last chapters of the game. Also, you can try selling the consumables you get to obtain some credits in the game.

If you are in mid-game and have collected enough consumables from lasting you throughout the game, then you can sell any extra healing items or consumables in your inventory. In order to sell these unwanted items, you just need to visit any Reforge Station nearby. Furthermore, you can also exchange items like the Contraband Pack and Energy Converter in exchange for some credits in the game.

Finding Loot

Sometimes if you are lucky enough, you will stumble across loot in the game and be able to farm credits quite easily. Fortunately for the players, there will be a lot of loot lying in the Prison Cells.

Therefore, it is important that you investigate every nook and cranny and look for credits lying about. The credits will appear randomly as small Credit Bundles lying about in the Prison. Most of them are located in empty prison cells. They will help you obtain a decent amount of credits in the game.

Don’t forget to check out the lockers as well, as they also have these small credit bundles in them. Make sure to look in every corner of the locker rooms and open all of them if you are looking for credits in the game. Sometimes they are blended in with the background and can be quite easy to miss. Other things that you should look out for are decoders, energy converters, and printers. By collecting and selling them, you will also be able to obtain credits in the game.

Open The Storage Chests

Fortunately for players, the Black Iron Prison will be full of containers or chests for you to open and get important loot from. In various parts of the Black Iron Prison, you will come across Small Chest with the in-game currency.

While they will give you a generous amount of money in the game, you will also find other items that you can exchange for money or get consumables or healing items to help you throughout your journey. There are not a lot of them in the game, so we recommend that you don’t go out of your way to look for them and only open the ones you come across during your exploration.

Most of these chests are found in dark corners. However, be careful when you interact with them as there might be enemies nearby or in them waiting to attack you. The chests might also be found in the rooms across the beaten path. In case you want to break something like a storage chest, always use your melee attack or GRP and avoid wasting any ammo on them.

Look In The Optional Areas

In Callisto Protocol, you will come across several areas invented by the developers called Beta Path. They will take you to some dark corners of the prison. There will be a lot of credits for you to farm here.

However, keep an eye out as there will be some chests with infected bugs, and the location is filled with enemies. Any wrong move can seriously damage your health and even kill you.

Complete The Story Missions

The easiest way to obtain credits in the game is by completing the major story tasks in the game. By completing any missions and quests allotted to you, you will be able to earn several in-game credits as a reward.

All you need to do is progress the story and finish any mission in the game. Most of these missions are necessary for progression. Therefore, you won’t have to go out of your way to earn credits by completing missions.

Tips To Use The Credits

After acquiring a certain amount of credits in the game, it is important to know all the different ways you can use it and the best items to spend your credits on. Here are some of the best ways you can spend all the credits you have collected from the different ways we have listed above.

Don’t Waste Your Credits

In Callisto Protocol, you won’t be getting a lot of credits. Therefore, it is important that you use them only when needed and save them for higher and more powerful upgrades. Callisto Protocol is very much like Dead Space in its combat and action, achievement and trophies.

Explosive Rounds
Hand Cannon, your default weapon [Image credit: eXputer]
If you played Dead Space, you would be familiar with the achievement of One Gun. That trophy could be obtained by only using your default weapon throughout the game to kill enemies. It was actually a plasma cutter and while the crowd control that came with it was not very great, it was still a good enough weapon to get you throughout the game. You can apply a similar approach to Callisto Protocol as well.

By using your default gun, you will be saving your credits from spending on weapons and saving them for upgrades that you actually need. We recommend that you don’t spend your credits on resources that you don’t need, like buying guns in the game.

It is important that you max out your hand cannon as much as possible and invest in your GRP. Riot Gun is also something that you should keep in mind while spending the credits since you will get this gun for free in the game.

Don’t Hold Unnecessary Items

When you first start the game, you will only get 6 inventory spaces for your valuables, including the ammunition, healing items, and GRP batteries. You will be stuck with these six inventory spaces for the first four chapters of the game. When it comes to survival horror games especially, the players tend to develop a sense of hoarding items.

Players don’t even use half of these resources in the game. This is probably because the players keep on saving them for a crisis situation that usually only comes rarely. Therefore, it is important that you keep yourself in full health at all times. Liquidate your extra inventory at the Reforge Station.

Doing so will save your inventory space as well as give you extra credits to spend on upgrading your firepower. They will need all the credits you can get early on in the game so you can buy different upgrades and consumables later on in the Callisto Protocol; there, you will actually need them.

The most common item that you will get throughout the game is the Health Injectors, and they will sell for around 100 credits each. You can sell some of these to get credits in the game.

Using The Explosive Rounds

The hand cannon you get in chapter 3 should be kept as a priority when spending credits. When you first come across a Reforge Station in the game, there will be a chest nearby with enough credits in it for you to buy a hand cannon.

So you basically acquire it for free. In the beginning, the hand cannon is a great weapon to use as a combo extender. You can use it with your Stun Baton to deal combos to enemies and target their limbs. Furthermore, you will be able to deal with some highly damaging skill shots that will ultimately stop the biophages from mutating.

The best part about the damage upgrades of hand cannons is that you won’t need to spend a lot of money. The upgrade will require you only 600 credits, and after the upgrade, you will be able to dismember the enemies quite easily. After the upgrade, you can take the limbs or heads of the enemies in a more efficient way and if used the right way, you can also deal with attacks that can be fatal to your enemies.

Buying Upgrades

The final upgrade of the hand cannon will unlock alt fire in the game. You will be able to hit enemies with explosive rounds at the cost of more bullets. The gun will use five bullets at once, and most of the time, you will kill your enemies with just one shot of an explosive round in the game. However, keep in mind that some enemies might require more than one shot.

After that, you will receive the Riot Gun, which is a very powerful shotgun. You will need the shotgun in the later chapters of the game, where enemies get harder to defeat. The point-blank damage dealt by the riot gun and its magazine capacity will also be upgraded.

After you get the riot gun, we recommend investing in its ultimate upgrade. It also has an alt-fire option to use explosive rounds; however, it does not do as much damage as the hand cannon.

Invest In The GRP

Players should invest in the GRP as much as they can. While the upgrades are not necessary, they will make your combat quite easy and give you a chance to kill enemies faster. If you have accumulated enough credits to afford an upgrade for your GRP, then we recommend you do so.

Even if you move halfway up the upgrade tree for the GRP, you will get a massive advantage in later chapters. When it comes to the third-level bonuses especially, they are quite expensive but totally worth it.

If you don’t want to spend your credits on third-level upgrades, then you can always invest in at least second-level upgrades to ensure that your GRP is powerful enough for more powerful enemies.
