COD MW2: BEST Kastov 762 Loadout [Expert’s Opinion]
After spending over 120 hours in Warzone 2, I recommend the following Kastov 762 loadout.
The Kastov 762 is a great assault rifle (AR) in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But to take it from great to outright exceptional, you need to pair it with the right attachments, perks, and equipment. The Kastov 762 is a hard-hitting rifle based on the AK platform.
Its large caliber rounds give it the greatest damage in the class, making it capable of dropping players within three to four shots at any range. The trade-off here, though, is that it has the slowest fire rate and high recoil in the class, along with the STB 556.
- Author’s Note: You can trust and rely on my expertise since I’ve gone through Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for well over 120 hours.
First and foremost, let’s check out a quick summary of all the picks you need to make for the best Kastov 762 loadout:
PRIMARY WEAPON ATTACHMENTS | SECONDARY WEAPON | PERKS | EQUIPMENT | FIELD UPGRADE |
---|---|---|---|---|
- Optic: Cronen Mini Pro - Muzzle: Kastovia DX90 - Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56 - Stock: KSTV-RPK Factory - Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser | X13 Auto | - Base Perk 1: Scavenger - Base Perk 2: Battle Hardened - Bonus Perk: Hardline - Ultimate Perk: Ghost | - Tactical: Stun - Lethal: Frag | Dead Silence and Battle Rage |
Best Kastov 762 Loadout
When it comes to equipping modifications with the Kastov 762, seen above, players have up to five attachment options. These include modification slots for muzzles, laser sights, optics, rear grips, and more. For the setup, I have chosen these as the best attachment combination:
- Optic: Cronen Mini Pro
- Muzzle: Kastovia DX90
- Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
- Stock: KSTV-RPK Factory
- Laser: FSS OLE-V Laser
The main benefit of this class loadout build is controlling the excessive kick of the Kastov 762. For this, the attachments provide improvements to the recoil control, smoothness, and stabilization. This makes the weapon perform superbly at medium to long ranges where it can drop enemies in an instant. Improvements to the aiming stability and damage range also help here. I
- For taking on foes at closer distances, the setup gives players increased hip-fire accuracy and quicker sprint to fire speed.
- This negates some of the aim down sight (ADS) speed nerfs since players can simply rely on getting their shots off quickly and firing from the hip.
- Mobility will also take a hit, but for players wanting a more mobile option, the M4 brings a lot to the table.
Below is a summary of the pros and cons that this loadout brings.
- Recoil Control +2
- Recoil Smoothness +1
- Recoil Stabilization +1
- Aiming Stability +1
- Aiming Idle Stability +
- Aim Down Sight Speed -3
- Aim Walking Stability -2
- Laser Visible in ADS
Kastov 762 Perks
Perks can make all the difference in a Call of Duty game. As such, it is important to make sure that players select the best perks that complement their weapons and playstyle.
Here are the perks setup I recommend for the Kastov 762 loadout and class build:
- Base Perk 1: Scavenger
- Base Perk 2: Battle Hardened
- Bonus Perk: Hardline
- Ultimate Perk: Ghost
The image below shows the perk setup.
- The first Base Perk, Scavenger, is a must-have with this build. It lets players pick up ammo and throw knives from dead players.
- The next Base Perk is Battle Hardened, it makes players more resistant to Flash, Stun, EMP, Gas Grenades, and Shock Sticks, while also providing immunity to Snapshot Grenades.
- For the Bonus Perk, I recommend Hardline, which reduces the cost of each equipped Killstreak by 1, or of each equipped Scorestreak by 125.
- Finally, the Ultimate Perk of choice is Ghost; this makes players invisible to UAVs, Portable Radars, and Heartbeat Sensors.
Kastov 762 Class Equipment
Like perks, the equipment players sport with their loadout also has a considerable impact on their success. Therefore, for the best results with the Kastov 762 AR setup, here is the equipment you should play with.
- Secondary: X13 Auto
- Tactical: Stun
- Lethal: Frag
- Field Upgrade: Dead Silence
- Field Upgrade 2: Battle Rage
Secondary: X13 Auto
The X13, shown above, is an automatic pistol that fires 20 rounds per second. It is based on the Glock-18 pistol in real life. The sidearm can hold 17 rounds per magazine with 34 in reserve. Players can unlock it by leveling up the X12 pistol to level 10.- The automatic firing capabilities of the pistol make it excel in close quarters.
- Due to this, the X13 serves as a great sidearm with the Kastov 762.
- This is because players can use the AR as their primary and take on longer-ranged gunfights, but when enemies get too close for comfort, they can quickly switch to the X13 and mow them down.
Tactical: Stun
The Stun grenade, as seen in the image, is an excellent Tactical for players to use. Upon detonation, the grenade concusses enemies in the vicinity, which greatly slows down their movement and aiming. This leaves them vulnerable for a few seconds and makes it much easier to take them out. Therefore, the Stun makes it easier to push into rooms, alleyways, and crowded spots on the map. This makes it a very reliable Tactical that can open up opportunities for many interesting plays.
Lethal: Frag
For the Lethal, I suggest going with the trusty ol’ Frag grenade, which can be seen in the picture. This is an explosive fragmentation grenade that detonates on a timed fuse. The grenade can be cooked before throwing as well. The option to cook the grenade also makes it more versatile than something like the Semtex. If timed and thrown correctly, the enemy has very few options to counter your Frag. Therefore, the Frag grenade provides a good option for crowd control and flushing enemies from their hiding spots.
Field Upgrade: Dead Silence
Dead Silence is the first Field Upgrade I recommend, shown in the image above. It lets players move without any footstep sounds for a set time, which renews after every kill. This provides an excellent opportunity for players to go completely silent and pull off some amazing plays without the enemy being any the wiser.
Field Upgrade 2: Battle Rage
Players can unlock a second Field Upgrade slot upon reaching level 45.Here, I have decided to go with the Battle Rage perk, shown in the picture. Upon activation, the player injects themselves with a stimulant that accelerates health regeneration, resists tactical equipment, and ends the cooldown on Tactical Sprints.
This allows the players to take on multiple enemies in quick succession while being less vulnerable to counter-attacks. Moreover, it enables quick movement and can help players remove themselves from intense situations.
My Take On Kastov 762
The setup I recommended for Kastov will help overcome a lot of the drawbacks of the Kastov, such as the recoil, and make it a stellar weapon all around. Equipping the firearm with my suggested class setup will significantly improve its performance and unlock its true potential on the battlefield.
The incredibly high damage also makes the weapon unwieldy in terms of recoil and mobility. As such, if you need something with less of a kick, the Taq 56 and M16 are some of the best guns in the game because of their recoil control and accuracy.
With that, the guide on the best loadout build and class setup for the Kastov 762 AR comes to an end. If you feel like the lack of mobility and sluggish fire rate of the Kastov 762 is not for you, I suggest taking a look at the SMGs in Modern Warfare 2. They possess a much higher fire rate and can let players get around a lot quicker.
In this regard, players should consider some of the best SMGs in the game, such as the FSS Hurricane, the Vel 46, and the MX9. Additionally, I suggest taking a look at Huzaifah Durrai’s comprehensive review of Modern Warfare 2 for an in-depth analysis.
