First Wonder Of Nibelheim (Phoenix Materia)

  • Rewards: Phoenix Materia

When you interact with the boy with an orange marker, He will tell you that Nibelheim is the place of different wonders. Furthermore, he will ask you to investigate these wonders. The “First Wonder” is easy to miss, so make sure to complete it before progressing further in the story. According to the boy, the town’s drinking water becomes red sometimes, and he thinks it could be some kind of blood. So, you have to investigate the water tank.

  1. Climb the water tank, which is right behind you.
  2. After climbing it, you will notice that there is some red materia in the tank, which is the “Phoenix Materia,” that can be used for summoning.
  3. Once you pick it up, it will be added to your DMW (Digital Mind Wave).
  4. That was it for the “First Wonder Of Nibelheim.” Mystery Solved.

There is a painting of a girl on the second floor of the inn, but that’s not the wonder. The girl sometimes vanishes from the portrait, and it is rumored that she wanders around Nibelheim. Interact with the same boy again. He will tell you to investigate this painting and find out whether it’s true.

To complete this wonder, you have to follow these steps:

  1. Go to the second floor.
  2. Interact with the painting with a girl in it.
  3. Go downstairs.
  4. Leave the inn.
  5. Talk to the boy again.
  6. Now, go back to the second floor and interact with the picture; you will notice that the girl is gone.
  7. Now, go back downstairs.
  8. Wait for the NPC in the red shirt to climb upstairs.
  9. Follow the NPC.
  10. You will see the NPC alter the painting.

The painting has two sides. One with a girl on it, and the second side is empty (without a girl), which the innkeeper uses to hide the nest egg from his wife. The innkeeper will give you 2000 Gil for keeping this a secret. “Second Wonder of Nibelheim” completed.

Third Wonder (Faceless Bomb)

  • Rewards: Safety Bit x1

Mt. Nibel is home to various monsters. However, it is rumored to have a “Faceless Bomb” monster that drops an item. For this wonder, you have to defeat the “Faceless Bomb” and bring the item back to the boy.

After interacting with the boy, head to the top of Mt. Nibel. After defeating a few monsters, you will see a group of three kids.

Interact with the kid in the green shirt. He will share some valuable information with you, “hit the bomb monsters that are about to explode.” After defeating a few more monsters, a “Gold Shard” is dropped by a bomb monster. Bring the “Gold Shard” back to the kid in Nibelheim, and he will give you a “Safety Bit” as a reward. “Third Wonder,” case closed.

According to the boy, there is a laughing safe in the “Shinra Manor,” and you can hear eerie laughter coming out of it every night. There is a code to the safe, but nobody knows the code. So, to investigate the “Fourth Wonder of Nibelheim,” you have to visit the “Shinra Manor.”

After interacting with the safe on the second floor of “Shinra Manor,” you will find out that it is protected with a four-digit code. Right next to the safe, there is a page on the ground. Interact with the page, and you will find some clues regarding the four-digit code.

The four-digit code can be different in many cases and is not guaranteed to be the same for everyone. So, you have to solve this puzzle yourself by peeking into the keyholes of the doors that won’t open.

Although some hints are shared below:

  1. Digit 1: Count the number of books not on the shelves.
  2. Digit 2: Count the number of spooky monsters inside the room.
  3. Digit 3: Count the purple apples in the room.
  4. Digit 4: Count the chairs in the room.

In my case, the four-digit code was 4 4 3 1.

Fifth Wonder

  • Rewards: No rewards

To investigate the “Fifth Wonder” first you have to talk to “Sephiroth” at the inn, because “Sephiroth” holds the key to the secret passage (located on the second floor of “Shinra Manor”) that leads to the underground cave where the “Fifth Wonder” is to be found. Once you gain access to the secret passage, defeat the “Sahagin” to acquire the coffin key.

  1. Once you acquire the key, climb down the ladder.
  2. There will be two red doors in the cave; enter each of them and use the coffin key, but be prepared because “Bizarre Bugs” are waiting for you inside the coffins.
  3. In one of the coffins, a man is sleeping while snoring out loud.
  4. Now, return to the boy. “Fifth Wonder” investigation complete.

Sixth Wonder (Treasure Within The Flames)

Movement guide for entering the house:

  • After following the above movement guide, you will successfully reach the boy’s mother.
  • Movement guide for exiting the house:
  • Up, left, up, right, down, right, down, left, down, left, down

After following the above movement guide, you will safely exit the house and will be able to save the boy’s mother before the time limit expires.
