Helliquary Mechanic in Diablo Immortal
In Diablo Immortal, the Helliquary is a newly introduced raid mechanic. It is not available as soon as you start playing the game; you need to unlock it.
Once you finish the main storyline in Blifen, you will be sent to Westmarch, where you will visit Deckard Cain’s Workshop. In the workshop, you will meet Rayoc, who will introduce you to the Helliquary along with assigning you Chaos Herald Pyl: your first target.
Helliquary lets you improve your combat rating along with the Demonic Remain, which gets comes once you take down a boss. The Demonic Remain needs to be returned to the Helliquary, where the Remain gets sealed, and you get a passive Combat Rating buff. Increasing your Offensive and Defensive Ratings are relatively easier through Helliquary than other options.
Vitaath, The Shivering Death
Vitaath, The Shivering Death, is one of the technical helliquary bosses. With this special challenge comes a special reward. Since this is one of the toughest fights, you have to be at the top of the game.
To fight Vitaath in Diablo Immortal, you will first need to go to the Frozen Tundra, which is near Bitter Harth Waypoint, east of Caven of Echoes. There you will see a gate through which you can start the raid.
Remember to check your combat rating before taking on Vitaath; make sure it is greater than 2280. If it is less, then we will suggest that you avoid the fight as it will be tougher, and you might find your time wasted along with the rage.
How to Defeat Vitaath in Diablo Immortal
When you reach the location, you will have to deal with Vitaath’s Ice Clan Impalers, Warriors, and Shaman, who will be attacking you. Remember to play it strategically with your team so everyone fights effectively without leaving anyone behind.
Once they are defeated, the ultimate fight with Vitaath will start again, but this will be a four-phase fight.
Vitaath Fight Phase 1
In the first phase, you will see Vitaath moving around a small area and attacking your team at random intervals. Be aware of her special abilities; and she has four separate abilities which she will use while trying to take you and your teammates down.
Ability 1: Icicle Zone
Icicle Zone from above. In this ability, in the arena, four ice zones will be created. Whoever is standing in those circles will deal damage when the icicle falls; you can counter it by just staying out of the icy zones.
Ability 2: Frontal Cone
Vitaath will unsheathe her icy sword, which she will use to perform a swinging attack. An effective zone can be seen easily, which shows that you will deal damage if you are in it. Dodge the ability by simply avoiding the effective zone.
Ability 3: Frontal Line
In this ability, the icicles will summon in front of her, which will damage your team when hit. Dodge it ability by avoiding telegraphed zone, which will protect you from Vitaath’s attacks in Diablo Immortal.
Ability 4: Ice Debuff
In this, a random player on your team will be affected by the ice debuff and receive damage. If other member gets debuffed, stay away from them, and if you get debuffed, then stay away from your teammates.
We recommend you to engage in the fight with ranged characters, which will allow you all to attack Diablo Immortal’s Vitaath from a long distance. The closer you are, the harder it will be to dodge her attacks. Therefore, attack from a long distance so dodging can be easier.
Vitaath Fight Phase 2
After you dodge the shots while giving her damage, Vitaath, The Shivering Death, will rise in the air. She will then summon minions like Icy Clones, Chilling Construct, and Frozen Shade. The first thing you need to do is take out all her summons.
Icy Clones of Vitaath will use some of her abilities, such as the Frontal Line Attack. Chilling Construct is a melee attack that is a single target and has a moderate amount of damage. Frozen Shade is a ranged attack with a single target as well, along with a moderate amount of damage.
Once you take out all her summons, she will return to the ground and start using the same abilities she was using in Phase 1. Therefore, like in Phase 1, use long-range characters, but you can also use melee characters when Vitaath is distracted to land a serious blow. Take down her summons as soon as possible, so she returns to the ground in less time.
Vitaath Fight Phase 3
Now the fight gets tougher and more interesting as Vitaath will start using special attacks such as Point Blank AoE Pulse. The attack will throw ice in all directions that can deal with AoE. Try your best to dodge these, as the ice will be damaging you and your teammates. Vitaath will summon Frozen Shades by shattering the Icicles left from Phase 2.
You have to be safe in the round to survive, so be careful and precise. Attack her summons quickly while giving her as much damage as possible so you can proceed to Phase 4.
Vitaath Fight Phase 4
Phase 4, which is the final phase, is like Phase 2, but in this, Vitaath will not be flying in the air. Therefore, you will not be able to damage her like that. She will be using all of her previous phase’s abilities along with summoning minions.
Combine all your previous phase’s strategies in this one. Focus on taking out the minions first and then attacking Vitaath, the Shivering Death. When the minions are dealt with, Vitaath will be gone after a few good hits.
Remember that the rewards for defeating Vitaath, the Shivering Death, will depend on the difficulty level you played on. However, when Vitaath is defeated, you will get a special award: the Frozen Wing of the Shivering Death.
Placing the award in the Helliquary will grant you bonus attributes consisting of Offence Rating +150 and Defense Rating +150. In Challenge Rifts, you will get a special attribute of Block Chance +20%.
Tips Against Vitaath in Diablo Immortal
To have a smooth experience against Vitaath, make sure you gather teammates who have Helliquary raid experience. They must have appropriate levels so everyone plays on the same wavelength.
Try to conserve your health potions since Vitaath’s attacks are deadly. She can get you very low on health or even one-shot you. So, to outlast her, you will need health potions whenever you get low while playing technically and defensively.
Moreover, communication is the key; all of you will need callouts when the situation gets tough. For example, if you find your teammate, busy fighting minions and Vitaath is about to attack him. Either try to give him cover or let him know so he can dodge Vitaath’s high-damage attack.
Now you know what to expect while heading towards Vitaath. Use this information and make your strategy accordingly, so the battle goes smoothly. This battle has good rewards for your leveling up and character statistics. You might as well get legendary items, so keep the mission as a priority rather than delaying it.
