Digimon fans would be well aware of Guilmon in the anime series and previous games. However, we’ll still cover his basic information so the newbie Digimon fans can know what they’re getting into while playing Digimon Survive with Guilmon in their team.

Key Highlights
  • Digimon Survive is a tactical role-playing game that adapts a visual novel gameplay style, published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and based on the popular Japanese media franchise Digimon.
  • Guilmon is a fan-favorite Digimon, a Fire Virus type monster known for its powerful blasts that can melt concrete and wood.
  • The game follows protagonist Takuma Momozuka, who gets teleported to the “Digital World” inhabited by monsters called ‘Digimons’ and must recruit and tame them to make up his team.
  • Players can shape their story and decisions during turn-based combat.
  • To get Guilmon in Digimon Survive, players can purchase the game digitally in its first month of release and redeem a free Guilmon, or purchase the physical edition of the game which includes a code to obtain Guilmon.
  • Guilmon is a rookie level reptile Digimon with high ‘Combat Species’ potential and a Fire and Virus type.
  • Guilmon’s base stats include Physical Attack: 66, Physical Defence: 40, Special Attack: 80, Special Defence: 42, Speed: 36 and various resistances.

Guilmon is a rookie level reptile Digimon. It looks like a ferocious young dinosaur. Despite being a rookie, Guilmon has a very high ‘Combat Species’ potential. This is a rare occurrence in the world of Digimon, which makes Guilmon a unique monster in the Digital World.

In the above image, you can see that Guilmon has a mark engraved around his chest. The engraved symbol is known as the “Digital Hazard” and indicates its potential to cause damage or destroy computer data.

However, if this capability is employed positively, Guilmon could develop into a Digimon that guards the Digital World. Guilmon is a Fire and Virus type Digimon.

Before we discover how to get Guilmon, here’s a quick look at his base stats in the game.

How To Get Guilmon In Digimon Survive?

There are only two methods through which you can get Guilmon in Digimon Survive. The first is linked with the Digital Edition of the game, while the second one is linked with the Physical Edition.

Guilmon In Digital Edition

So far, there are only two ways you can get Digimon Survive’s Guilmon. Therefore, only a few lucky people will be able to get their hands on the Fire and Virus type monster!

The first way to get your very own Guilmon in Digimon Survive is by purchasing the game digitally in its first month of release. Players have time till the end of August to avail of the offer and redeem a free Guilmon.

You can simply purchase the Digimon Survive ‘Digital Month 1 Edition’ on multiple game stores, including Steam on PC. Since this is a time-limited offer, any purchases after the end of August 2022 will not receive Guilmon in their game.

When you load up Digimon Survive after making your digital game purchase within August 2022, you will receive a message. The notification will reveal that the game has awarded you Guilmon as a bonus reward!

Guilmon In Physical Edition

The second way to get Guilmon in Digimon Survive has unfortunately passed by. This method was only viable before the release of the game. You can still get the monster if you purchase the game’s Month 1 edition. Although, we regret to inform you that Guilmon will not be included in your copy of the game if you choose to purchase a physical version now.

But if by any chance you pre-ordered a physical copy of Digimon Survive, then you’re in luck! Bandai Namco Entertainment included Guilmon for the gamers who pre-ordered the Digimon Survive physical edition.

Unluckily that ship has already sailed, for those who pre-ordered the game can enjoy having Guilmon on their team. But those who missed this chance can still buy the digital edition before the end of August 2022.

Unlocking Guilmon In Digimon Survive

Once you’ve completed the previously mentioned steps of either pre-ordering the physical game or purchasing the digital game within the first month, you will now be able to unlock Digimon Survive’s Guilmon.

After following the initial steps, you will receive a message on the screen of your console after loading up the game. The message will state, ‘Received Extra Monster – Guilmon. Obtainable from the Menu screen after completing the equipment tutorial’.

As mentioned above, you will then need to complete the equipment tutorial after playing through the prologue of Digimon Survive. The prologue can take up to an hour to complete, after which the game will familiarize you with the battle mechanics.

During this portion of the game, you will Digivolve Koromon into Agumon and will then take part in a battle. On the completion of all these steps, you’ll be a few clicks away from redeeming Guilmon in Digimon Survive.

Now open up the in-game menu; there will be a notification on the top corner indicating that you have a bonus available. You can now click the button to receive your reward, which will unlock Guilmon for you in Digimon Survive. Guilmon will instantly be moved to your starter team, taking his place alongside Agumon!

We hope our guide on getting Guilmon in Digimon Survive was helpful. We wish you the best of luck during the game, which is packed with drama, unique characters, and hard choices!
