Characters Recruited Throughout The Main Story
These characters will join your team in various chapters of the story. Thankfully, the majority of the characters that are recruitable join your party automatically by playing through the story. Following are the characters that join your team by playing the main story chapters;
- Alear (M/F)
These characters will join your team as you progress through the story. You don’t have to go out of your way and complete side missions in order to unlock them. Additionally, some of these characters can also be Romanced by Alear in Fire Emblem Engage.
Characters Recruited Through Talking Or Paralogues
Now, these are the characters that you’ll need to follow special steps for in order to unlock them in the game. You’ll either have to complete some specific Paralogues or will have to follow special steps in order to unlock them. Following are the characters that are not unlocked by playing through the main story;
A Paralogue known as Budding Talent unlocks in the Tea-Field Village during Chapter 6 of Fire Emblem Engage. That is the Paralogue that you’ll have to play in order to unlock Jean. Once you start the Paralogue, make sure to defeat all enemies and clear out the surroundings.
After defeating all of the enemies, you will be able to have a conversation with Jean in the area. Make sure that it is Alear who talks to Jean. Once Alear speaks with Jean, the character will be recruited to your party, and you will be able to use him in the game.
Anna is another character that can only be recruited by playing a Paralogue. And that Paralogue is the Mysterious Merchant that unlocks in Chapter 7 of the game when u visit the Bandit’s Hideout. Anna will hide be hiding in one of the chests during the Paralogue.
Both the enemies and you can open up that chest to expose her. However, if the enemies get to her first, she might get overwhelmed. You will either need to open up the chest yourself first or protect her in order to make her join your team in Fire Emblem Engage.
Jade is unlocked by playing one of the main story missions in the game, and you will not have to tackle a Paralogue in order to unlock her. She will be available to recruit during Chapter 9 of the game. However, there are some special steps that you need to follow in order to unlock her additionally.
Diamant should already be present at your party when you’re playing chapter 9. You’ll need Diamant to speak with Jade in order to recruit her to your team. That is the only thing that you need to do. If you fail to make Diamant speak with her, then you won’t be able to recruit Jade.
Seadall is probably the easiest character to recruit, as all you need to do is speak with him in Chapter 15 of the game. The process of recruiting him is similar to recruiting Jean. All you have to do is to clear out all of the enemies and speak with Seadall in order to recruit him.
Lindon is one of those recruits that you might end up killing in Fire Emblem Engage. You will meet Lindon in battle during Chapter 18 of the game. He will first appear as an enemy, and you will engage in battle with him. However, make sure that you don’t end up killing him. Talk to him as Alear later in order to add him to your team in Fire Emblem Engage.
Saphir is also unlocked by playing a certain story chapter in Fire Emblem Engage. And that is Chapter 19, so Saphir is unlocked in late-game. Make sure to speak with Saphir during that chapter in order to unlock her so that you can add her to your party.
