Like other Fire Emblem games, you have many romance options with your support characters that you reach S-Rank with, but there’s a catch in Fire Emblem Engage. You can actually have same-gender relationships in the game, and that’s a first in the series.
- The list of characters that you can romance in FE Engage is huge.
- You can also have a same-gender relationship with some characters.
- Certain characters in the game will only flirt with you and not engage further in relationships.
- A Pact Ring and a Support Rank A are needed to initiate a romantic relationship.
- You get Pact Ring when you reach the story’s end.
How To Romance Characters In Fire Emblem Engage

You’ll need to reach Support Rank A first with the character you’re trying to romance in the game. Additionally, you’ll have to get your hands on the Pact Ring, which is a very important item in forming romantic relations in Fire Emblem Engage.
Pact Ring can only be obtained near the end of the story. You’ll have to complete a Paralogue that unlocks during the 22nd chapter of the game. Once you complete that paralogue, you’ll get your hands on the Pact Ring. After obtaining the Pact Ring, give it to the character that you’ve been building up your Support Rank with.
Giving the Pact Ring to a character with Support Rank A will increase the rank of that character to S, leading to the formation of a romantic relationship with that character. Once you’ve reached the S rank with your favorite character and formed a romantic relationship, you’ll also unlock a special cutscene where the character confesses their feelings for the player additionally.
It should be noted that not all characters in Fire Emblem Engage can be romanced. And not all characters will get into a same-gender relationship.
