Unlocking Tanuki Mission In Ghostwire Tokyo
Once you have started the game, you will be asked to go to the Shiroyama Shrine to cleanse it. Once you are done you will meet the Tanuki Boss. He is the leader of the 25 Tanukis who got lost when the Visitors came to Shibuya and took over. Finding all the Tanukis will unlock the Platinum Trophy and Your Tail’s Showing Trophy in Ghostwire Tokyo.
This mission is important to unlock the side missions and clothes in the game. Finding each Tanuki location in Ghostwire Tokyo will give you 100 XP.

If you hover over the Shrine Icon, you can see the number of Tanukis in the area and the ones you’re still missing. To make things easier for you, the game also has Offering Boxes at certain Shrines that will mark a Tanuki for you in exchange for 500 meika but you cannot entirely rely on these. Shiroyama Shrine
The Shiroyama Shrine has 3 Tanukis; one of the Tanukis can be found hiding as a chagama, a sort of metal pot. This Tanuki is nearby the Boss Tanuki. This is the Yellow Maple Tanuki and it will unlock Karate Form 1 emote.


Another Tanuki can be found disguised as Torii Gate right in front of a massive red billboard in the southwest corner of the area. This is the Yellow Purse Tanuki and it will unlock the Shine Offering Emote.


The third and final Tanuki in this shrine will take the form of a vending machine in the middle of the pavement under the highway located in the south of the map. This is the Yellow Scarf Tanuki and it unlocks the Punk Squat Emote.

Namita Shrine
There is only one Tanuki in the Namita Shrine and it can be found as a Tanuki porcelain statue on a rooftop. This is the Green Furoshiki Tanuki that will unlock the Ground Sit 3 Emote.


The Akisawa Shrine
Akisawa hides two Tanukis.
One of the Tanukis has disguised itself as Torii Gate down an alley. This is the White Flower Tanuki and it unlocks the Pet Cat Emote.


The other Tanuki takes the form of a traffic cone on the ledge of a roof. This is the Red Furoshiki Tanuki and it unlocks the Karate Form 2 emote.


The Yashin Shrine
The Yashin Shrine has only one Tanuki that disguises itself as a traffic sign found outside a construction site in the middle of the city. This is the Armored Tanuki and it unlocks Run Like The Wind Emote.


The Kuo Shrine
You can find two Tanukis in the Kuo Shrine very close to one another.
One of the Tanukis hides in the park as a panda playground seesaw. This is the Green Maple Tanuki and it unlocks My Right Hand Hungers Emote.


The other Tanuki can be found if you go along the highway to a rooftop. This Tanuki is in the form of a sign. This is the Yellow Necklace Tanuki that will unlock The Umbrella Emote once you’ve found it.


The Kamio Shrine
The Kamio Shrine has only one Tanuki that takes on the shape of Daruma. You can find this Tanuki on the southeastern side of the map. This is the Pink Furoshiki Tanuki that unlocks the Sit 2 emote when you find it.


The Shimosuka Shrine
The Shimosuka shrine also has only one Tanuki that can be found in a graveyard amidst some buildings. This Tanuki is in the south of the graveyard and hides as a gravestone. This is the Triangular Leaf Tanuki and it unlocks the Aquatic Kunai Emote.


The Onten Shrine
The Onten Shrine has one Tanuki and it can be found off of the main road on the bench in the form of a cardboard box. This is the Green Purse Tanuki and this Tanuki unlocks the Cuteness Overload Emote.


The Tasui Shrine
The Tasui Shrine only has one daruma and it can be found underneath the highway, in the corner of the building disguised as a Daruma. This is the Polka Dot Tanuki and finding this Tanuki unlocks the Sit 1 Emote.


Saihama Building Rooftop Torii Gate
The next Tanuki hides in the form of a porcelain Tanuki statue in the back garden of some flats right next to a locker. This is the Red Maple Tanuki and finding it will unlock the Ground Sit 2 Emote.


The Chishima Shrine
The Chishima Shrine has one Tanuki that has disguised itself as a telephone box in the northeast corner of the restricted area far to the north of the map. This is the Yellow Flower Tanuki and it unlocks the Wall Lean Emote.


The Hastuike Shrine
The Hastuike Shrine has one Tanuki. This Tanuki can be found on the west side of the park far to the north of the region. This Tanuki is disguised as a chair and can be found on the side of the park. This is the Blue Purse Tanuki and it will unlock the Sumo Stance Emote.


The Namihara Shrine
The Namihara Shrine has a Tanuki in the northwest corner of the map on a rooftop. This Tanuki is in the form of a shop sign. It is the Grey Scarf Tanuki that unlocks the Sheepish Emote.

The Toyoi Shrine
The Toyoi Shrine has a single Tanuki located on the western side of the map. This Tanuki is hidden in a small parking lot disguised as a vending machine. This is the Pink Purse Tanuki and it unlocks the Pet Dog Emote


The Hitani Shrine
The Hitani Shrine has two Tanukis
The First Tanuki in Hitani Shrine hides as a Daruma found in the side of the highway on the top of some electrical boxes. This is the Elliptical Leaf Tanuki that unlocks the Sit 3 Emote.


The next Tanuki is disguised as a cup of instant ramen noodles on the top of a park bench in a small alley surrounded by a group of buildings. This is the Green Necklace Tanuki that will give you the Karate Punches Emote.


Utagawa Shopping District
The Utagawa Shopping District has three Tanukis.
The first Tanuki is found in an alley disguised as a vending machine far to the south of the district. This is the Bug Eaten Leaf Tanuki and it gives you the prayer emote.


The second Tanuki is disguised as a billboard on the top of a roof so it could scare off the crow that was annoying it. This is the Pink Flower Tanuki and it unlocks the Graceful Landing Emote.


The third Tanuki in this region can be found underneath a large bridge. This Tanuki takes the shape of a small door in the wall. This is the Red Scarf Tanuki and it unlocks the Love and Peace Emote.


The Morite Shrine
The Morite Shrine only has one Tanuki. This Tanuki is found in the form of an antenna on a small building very close to the main street. This is the Red Flower Tanuki and finding it will unlock the Cutie Pie Emote


The Mikubo Shrine
The Mikubo Shrine has one Tanuki disguised as a porcelain Tanuki Statue. This statue can be found on a generator on the top of the building in the south of the Torii gate. This is the Red Necklace Tanuki and it unlocks the Ground Sit 1 Emote.

After you’ve managed to find all Tanuki locations in Ghostwire Tokyo, you will not only be rewarded with 100 XP and several emotes but you will also find charms and a complete Tanuki Outfit.
The Tanuki Charms
Finding these Tanukisis important because these Tanukis grant the players powers for every five Tanukis they find. They also provide many buffs to the players. These buffs include Tanuki prosperity Charm I and II, Tanuki Hardiness Charm I and II, and the Tanuki Bounty Charm.
The Bounty charm can help the player get double the HP restoration from food. For players on level 30, this buff is extremely useful. The Tanuki Prosperity Charm can increase the food buff stats that you get from eating food like the Nether food etc. It also increases the duration of the bonuses.
This charm allows you to have two temporary buffs at one time. The Tanuki hardiness charm can double the duration of a temporary buff. This is why it is important to find all Tanuki Locations in Ghostwire Tokyo.
The Tanuki Outfit
On finding all the Tanukis, the boss Tanuki will call for a meeting. This meeting takes place at the Kirigaoka Shrine. The boss Tanuki will thank you and as a reward, you will get the complete Tanuki Outfit.
