How To Defeat The Orchid Mantis In Grounded

To defeat the Grounded Orchid Mantis there are a couple of preparation steps you need to do. Without performing these steps the fight will remain inaccessible to you in Grounded. First and foremost, it is crucial to have the Best Armor and a bunch of weapons on you. Make sure you have a few weapons with Salty enhancements since the Mantis are weak against them.

Before we get into the details of every single step. Let us list down the things you need to do in order to access the boss and fight against it. So here are the things you first need to do before considering taking on the Orchid Mantis.

• Defeat the Assistant Manager.
• Defeat the Hedge Broodmother.
• Cook Orchid Mantis Kebab.

Without defeating these two it is impossible to face the Orchid Mantis. However, to cook the Orchid Mantis Kebab, you will need an oven. Once you have access to an oven, you can then proceed and collect the required ingredients.

• 5x Broodmother Chunk
• 2x Fire Ant Head

2. Phase Transitions: When the boss’s health reaches 80%, it enters its second phase, where it starts spitting pollen shots that create a damaging mist. At 50% health, it enters the third phase, unleashing unblockable attacks with shockwaves.
3. Cover Usage: Utilize the big trunk in the middle of the arena as cover to protect yourself from the boss’s attacks. Positioning behind cover is crucial, especially during the third phase when the boss’s attacks inflict high damage.
4. Weapon Choice: Use weapons with Salty enhancements to maximize damage against the Orchid Mantis. These weapons will be most effective in dealing with the boss’s substantial health bar.
5. Blocking and Dodging: Time your blocks effectively to mitigate damage during the battle. However, be aware that shockwaves from the boss’s attacks are unblockable, so prioritize finding cover to avoid taking damage from these attacks.

Loot

The long-lasting battle is worth the pain because it will give you access to some high-tier loot in Grounded. After finally putting down the Mantis in the game, you can then loot its body to collect a few natural resources.
