Once you’re in the room, as you can see in the image we captured above, you will notice four paintings from your left to right. Interestingly, all four paintings will look complete, except for the face parts. Getting close to the mystery mirror at the center of the room or interacting with it will reveal a dialogue prompt, and it tells you just to put the faces back on these paintings.

You will need to identify which face goes to what painting. It is because doing this talking fountain puzzle correctly will summon a staircase, and you will be able to move to the next area. Even if you manage to insert three faces correctly and the fourth one wrong, the puzzle will not be solved, and the mystery mirror will not spawn a staircase for you. Also, you need the reward too.

We have listed the correct order of all the faces that you need to put into each painting so that you can complete the quest. Even though there are four paintings, and you can pretty much guess which one goes into what painting, still, there is a probability that you will fail at least 24 times and then get the puzzle right.

Placing Faces Into Paintings

The first step that you need to do correctly is to pick the first face you see when you enter the room. It is just near the mystery mirror, and you can’t miss it. See our captured image, just in case you can’t figure out which face we are talking about.

Now that you have picked the first face of a painting, move over to the second painting from the left side and insert the face into it. For a better context, the face of this painting has an open mouth with a purple zig-zag tongue. If you picked this face, then remember that it goes onto the painting with the red borders. Here is an image we captured for your reference so that you get the first face of the puzzle right.

After that, pick the second face That you see lying near the image where you put the first face. Pick this up and insert it in the first painting from the right side.

Once you have done this, you’re halfway through the puzzle, and now only two pieces of the face need to go into the correct painting to solve the talking fountain’s puzzle.

Next, after inserting the 2nd face into the painting, as we mentioned above, you will see another face on the ground near it.

Pick this up and place it on the first painting from the fountain’s left side that you see. This painting has yellow borders, so you can’t miss inserting the 3rd face into it. Also, the third face that goes into the yellow-bordered painting has bunny-like ears on his head.
