Melina was one of the seven playable characters of Xenoblade Chronicles. She is a part of the High Entia Race. Melia is a powerful mage-like character. Before you get more into the story, you should know that there will be SPOILERS about Melia of Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

If you continue reading, then it’s on to you. But if you want to experience the story as intended by the developers, then you should stop. Anyway, let’s get on with the story.

Melia was the princess of an advanced race. She is a humble and kind lady with a strong sense of duty. She was brought up with a strict daily upbringing because she was a princess. But still, she knew how to be humble to those of lower status.

Melia was a playable character in the first Xenoblade Chronicles title. In that game, she has deemed a worthy successor to the throne, but her coronation was delayed for a year. She spends this time with the protagonists of the first game to avenge her father.

The game developers revealed Melia’s identity by mistake. In the subtitles of the announcement trailer, they mentioned Melia’s name in subtitles. Although Nintendo, later on, removed her name from the trailer, that was more than enough for the fans of Xenoblade Chronicles.

Sometimes, after the events of previous Xenoblade Chronicles titles, Melia became Keves’ Queen. A disaster occurred when the two worlds that were created by splitting the original began to fuse. Melia then makes a contract with Nia, the Queen of Agnus of the other world. In this, they set up a plan to allow their people and culture to live by constructing an ark named the Origin.

The Origin system becomes corrupt, and it creates an entity named Z. Z, then hijacks the fusion process and puts Melia into cryogenic sleep. It then creates a new world with Melia’s nation in it. Z takes over the new nation by using a robotic double of Melia and uses it as a puppet ruler. He then uses the puppet ruler to wage a never-ending war with Agnus and keep the world in a ‘State of now.’

Melia’s addition in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a great gift for players that played other titles. It is a treat for the players that were curious about what happened to Melia later on. The game finally answers that she was a humble Queen that was ready to save her people.
