Required Materials:

  • Stone brick, stairs, and slabs.
  • Cobblestone, stairs, and wall.

  2. Use a shovel to dig a trench around the exterior. Make it at least three blocks wide and two blocks deep.
  3. The width is for aesthetics, but the depth is the key security measure. Most mobs can’t jump up vertically more than one block, so a two-block deep trench will stop them.
  4. Get Water Buckets and fill them with water. If your base is far from water, this may take some time, but it’s worth it.

Create a moat by filling the trench with water. This barrier will prevent enemies from reaching your castle, and you can access it via a small bridge on one side.

  2. When building the walls, make them tall and wide to establish a robust defense.
  3. Construct ramparts atop the walls, leaving at least one block of space for walking and inspecting the surroundings.
  4. Place blocks on the outside edge of the walls with one block of space between each placement. This provides cover when attacked and gaps for firing at enemies.

Building large walls and ramparts will give your castle the fortification it needs in Minecraft.

  • Cobblestone.
  • Andesite and stone.

Did you know that there was a magic-based villager mob that could’ve potentially arrived on Minecraft Dungeons? Well, if a character like them would’ve had their own homestead in the game, it would easily be this skyrise Wizard Castle that’s built on top of a sizable hill. It oversees a sizable chunk of your Minecraft world until your PC’s rendering distance settings give out.

It’s surely not going to be easy getting to this level if you’re a beginner in Minecraft. However, starting out in the Creative Mode first can eventually help you get there. Make sure that you’re putting in the time for the internal parts of the build.

Therefore, it does make sense to have a similarly styled build in your Minecraft world. You’ll need fairly basic materials to make this castle design come to life though, so this is definitely something that you can get started with within the game’s Survival Mode

As for the interior, the Medieval Castle packs all the bells and whistles for most commodities necessary for Survival. This includes a master bedroomEnchanting Table, Crafting Table, a large section for chest storage, and room for expansion as well. A rock-hard build that paves the way to a no-frills survival experience is what this unit is all about, so definitely one of the best Minecraft projects out in the game.

Required Materials:

  • Dark prismarine.
  • Spruce log.
  • Dark oak logs.

Some of the hallmarks of Japan-based homes are exactly what you’ll find in the Japanese Castle, which is dripping from top to bottom with style and charm in equal measure.

You will, however, need some advanced-grade materials like Dark Prismarine StairsDark Prismarine SlabsWarped Trapdoors, and Smooth Sandstone. If you think these resources are manageable for you, go for this terrific build in Survival Mode, but make sure that a couple of friends can tag along with you to speed up the build. What’ll take weeks will then demand days that way. Moreover, we highly recommend investing some time decorating both the exterior and interior of the build for the best results.

Required Materials:

  • Stripped oak logs, planks, stairs, planks.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Smooth stone slab.
  • White Concrete.
  • Andesite.
  • Stone brick.
  • Gravel.

The Survival Castle is the perfect way to launch your foray into Minecraft’s Survival Mode. No need to confuse yourself with complex builds and finding hard-to-obtain materials when you’ve got this bad boy of a design readily available. All you need is a bunch of stacks of Stone which can easily be mined with a Silk Touch-attached pickaxe. Be sure to have the Crafting Table at the ready because you’ll be needing it to generate some stacks of Stone Slabs

Other than that, this build is one of the closest things that looks like a proper, realistic castle, unlike other extravagant builds that expand on unwanted features. It’s definitely one of the most head-turning castle ideas that we’ve come across, that’s for sure. The contrast is hit by combining Stone with Oak-based blocks, like Oak LogsOak Slabs, and Oak Stairs. You’ll top it off at the very end of the construction by using either White Concrete or Smooth Quartz Block.

20. Simple Minecraft Castle

Required Materials:

  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone.
  • Stone brick, wall.
  • Black stone wall.

We have yet another easy-to-construct castle on this list. The reason we’re picking multiple simple ones that are, indeed, worthy of making it in this article is to prep newcomers for the more complex builds. That’s because you’ll find plenty of the latter on this comprehensive list. Now on to the build in question, the Simple Minecraft Castle does an excellent job at blending different blocks together and presenting forth an absolute winning formula.

It isn’t too grand in size, but it does boast the benefit of having everything you need for survival in the game. This includes a sizable bed, a terrific chest storage area, and, of course, tons of room for expansion. You can even haul some mobs to the area and make them fend off any impending threat. The outside section can be lined with crops, so the functionality here is coming across as twofold. Not only is this one of the easiest castles to make in Minecraft, but also one of the most convenient.

21. Lake Castle

Source: OneTeam

Required Materials:

  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone brick.
  • Stone.
  • Spruce planks.

Talk about taking things off-shore. The Lake Castle in all its glory does not rely on any land to be constructed upon. You’ll have to venture into the waters of Minecraft and find a suitable spot to get to work. Of course, having a relaxing yet equally intimidating fortress by your side situated directly on a lake somewhere is of a different class to brag about.

The best part about some of these builds is that although their fundamental layout may get a little complicated, the resources you’ll need to build them are still fairly basic. That is why you can almost painlessly go to town on the Lake Castle in Survival Mode.

22. Diorite Castle

minecraft castle ideas blueprints
Source: Stevler

Required Materials:

  • Diorite.
  • White wool.
  • Black stone.
  • Dark oak planks, slabs, stairs, fence.

The Diorite Castle in Minecraft borrows its design from medieval times and provides players with an opportunity to live in the Middle Ages once more. As the name suggests, you’ll be requiring Diorite in your Minecraft world. This resource can be hauled through crafting. You’ll typically require Cobblestone and Nether Quartz to make any Diorite, but the matter of peculiarity here is how the former two resources need to be placed diagonally to each other in the Crafting Table menu for successful results.

Once you’ve got this sleek block in your inventory, prepare yourself to build what is easily one of the most impressive Minecraft castles to date. It’s shaped like a proper stronghold with multiple sections within. You’re not going to regret creating a structure like this in your Minecraft world anytime soon—we can vouch for that statement.

23. Deepslate Castle

Source: Stevler

Required Materials:

  • Deep slate.
  • Black stone.
  • Spruce planks, fence, trapdoor.
  • Cobblestone.

The Deepslate Castle is another striking design that’s best built near a cliff. Find a suitable spot and begin your journey taking this project on and we promise that it’ll be one of the most interesting structures you’ve ever built in Minecraft. In Survival Mode, the key to building anything atop a water source is jumping from one leaf to another so you don’t submerge in the water.

That way, you’ll surely be investing a significant amount of time and effort, but the results will be equally rewarding. Oh, and don’t forget to stock up on Deepslate before commencing this build. You’ll usually obtain the latter in spades by mining it with the pickaxe equipped and donned with Silk Touch—one of the many diverse enchantments in the game.

24. Fantasy Tower

Required Materials:

  • Stone, stairs, slabs.
  • Andesite walls.
  • Dark Oak stairs, slabs, trapdoor, fence gate.
  • Spruce trapdoors, slabs, striped logs, stairs, and doors.
  • Birch planks, striped logs, stairs.
  • Acacia planks, stairs, slabs, fence.
  • Polished deep slate.

The Fantasy Tower may not seem like much, but it’s surely one of the best ways for beginners to get started with tower building. You’ve got a singular towering structure with a perimeter around it comprising of any block of your choice. It can get you healthily teaching how to build a full-fledged castle in the game, and you can even perhaps make this a homestead for some of your villagers in your Minecraft base.

You can employ the blocks and resources of your preference when constructing the Fantasy Tower, but make sure to keep the theme fanatical to make the unit come to life at its very core. On the same side, there’s no need to convolute this small-scale structure with supplementary decorations. Just learn the basics and continue on the challenging designs present on the list.

25. Huge Castle

Required Materials:

  • Stone, Stairs.
  • Stone Bricks, Stairs, Slabs.
  • Andesite, Slabs.

Apart from comprising a singular skyrise structure, this is one of those Minecraft castle ideas that pack all the bells and whistles for character survival in the game. Talk about constructing villages, villager houses, and even crops and farms within a castle to accommodate all your requirements. This is what the Huge Castle is all about.

This is nothing but a real challenge for even the most skilled Minecraft builders out there, so do proceed bearing the latter in mind. An easy way to beat this design idea is to get together with a squad of like-minded amigos and brave the Huge Castle together.

Source: A1MOSTADDICTED MINECRAFT

Required Materials:

  • White wool.
  • Stripped wrapped logs, and planks.
  • Spruce planks.
  • Black stone.
  • Black stone bricks.

We’ve got yet another highly diversified castle in the mix that’s ready to impress your friends as soon as you build it. The Blackstone Castle eponymously comprises the Blackstone block among a variety of other resources. The latter, however, cannot be so readily obtained as some of the other blocks required for this build. You’ll need to dive into the Nether world, particularly the Nether Wastes or the Basalt Deltas sections to up your chances of finding any Blackstone.

Once you’ve got the material, however, you’re free to make the Blackstone Castle come to life. It’s using a four-leaved structure in the middle as one of its major highlights. It doesn’t follow a proper design or format in terms of its decoration and is rather a combination of multiple resources.

27. Stronghold Castle

castle minecraft ideas
Source: FIRSTOUNDER

Required Materials:

  • Cobblestone.
  • Dark Oak Logs, planks.
  • Stone.

The Stronghold Castle is just an exceedingly substantial base-like structure that doesn’t demand difficult-to-get blocks to come to life. All you need is a chunk of will and determination to gather basic resources like CobblestoneStone, and Dark Oak Log to get to work.

This does come under as one of the easiest castles to make, but don’t let the type of resources required to fool you into thinking of this castle as minuscule. This is a gargantuan building that comprises multiple sections and a singular castle in the far back. However, since there’s a lot of room for expansion and further decoration, you will love the potential the Stronghold Castle has for your Minecraft world.

28. Dungeon Castle

 minecraft castle ideas blueprints
Source: Stevler

Required Materials:

  • Blackstone, brick.

There’s no other castle idea that’s as serious-looking as the Dungeon Castle. This design speaks volumes of how capable your building skills can potentially get in Minecraft, given the intricately walled structure and the overall layout of this daunting castle. There’s an Ashina-style entrance in the front that resembles the same doom that you consistently have to brave in the world of Sekiro.

Be sure to stock up on Blackstone stacks as that is what you’ll be needing to complete this terrific build. We recommend jumping straight into Survival Mode and not wasting a single second in erecting the Dungeon-Style Castle for the best results.

29. Mountainside Castle

Source: BigTonyMC

Required Materials:

  • Black stone.
  • Black stone brick.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone brick.
  • Andesite.

Apart from erecting monumental castles on land and sea, there’s another option up for grabs for Minecraft enthusiasts. What we’re talking about here is probably one of the most effective Minecraft mountain castle ideas that are camouflaged like a chameleon in a world full of looming dangers.

You’ll have to dive into adventuring a little bit and get yourself on a mountain biome to successfully build the Mountainside Castle in full flight. The experience and the end result both will be exceedingly rewarding, so don’t fret and just dive right in. Besides, you’ll also get what you need for survival from this design—a bed, a storage room for chests, an Enchanting and Crafting Table, and, of course, a sizable tower that you can use to oversee incoming threats.

30. Ultimate Survival Castle

Source: ItsMarloe

Required Materials:

  • Stone brick, stairs.
  • Cobblestone, slabs, stairs.
  • Spruce planks, fence, trapdoor.

The Ultimate Survival Castle is not for the faint of heart. You’ve had your fill with the easier ones, but it’s about time we get into some genuinely challenging builds with this being one of them. The good news is that even though this is a fairly complex build, it doesn’t involve the use of hard-to-acquire materials. You’ll find that it mostly comprises Cobblestone, Oak LogStone, and Spruce Slabs for the most part, all of which are nothing but easily obtained.

Constructing this gargantuan structure is a surefire way to flaunt your building skills, as this is a build that you can complete by yourself. You will, however, need to invest a fair bit of time while building this. Survival is going to become a walk in the park once you got this unit up and running in your Minecraft world.

Required Materials:

  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone.

You’ve got two mini-towers in there followed by a relatively larger unit at the back of the build. There’s a small house at the center which will serve as your resting spot.

Players who take their builds seriously invest a fair amount of time in decoration. You can see how the front yard is embellished with a mixed pattern of different blocks, including Cobblestone and Dark Oak Log. You’re free to do the same and then some.

Moreover, don’t forget to place Lanterns or any other light source around the stairway of the Classic Castle. That’s going to make finding your homestead a lot easier when you return to it late in the night.

32. Winter Survival Castle

Required Materials:

  • Stone, stairs.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone bricks, stairs, slabs.
  • Andesite walls, block, polished.
  • Bricks, walls, stairs.
  • Oak plains, stripped logs, slabs.

It provides you with all the commodities that are necessary to stay alive and booming in the game, including a bed, an Enchantment Table, a Crafting Table, and a small-scale crop for growing the resource you need.

Moreover, since it’s situated at the peak of a mountain, you’ll need to find a good location for this purpose. Wander around in your Minecraft world until you spot an appropriate point. That’s where you need to get to work. Some users even create whole mountains themselves before constructing the main unit. If you think that is something that you can see yourself doing, we recommend going for it.

33. Lord’s Castle

Required Materials:

  • Stone bricks, walls, stairs, slabs.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Andesite, Smooth, stairs, slabs.
  • Spruce trapdoors, fences.
  • Deep Slate bricks.

The Lord’s Castle is a staggering monument of class. It’s one of the most proper Minecraft castle ideas we have on the list that pack a no-frills experience. It looks and feels like a castle that’s somewhere in Germany, Romania, or France.

You definitely cannot go wrong with a build this intimidating that even houses all necessary items for your survival in the game. Speaking of survival, this castle design idea can be implemented in Survival Mode, but you might have to bend your back for it.

As for the interior, this is a domain where your creativity will have to come in. Choose however you’d like to build the insides of your giant castle and take your time while doing so.

34. Fortified Castle

Required Materials:

  • White and black concrete.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone brick.
  • Spruce planks.
  • Smooth stone.

Not only is this quite difficult, but a true challenge for even the most experienced players of the sandbox title. You definitely need to polish your building skills if you’re a newbie to attempt building the Fortified Castle. That’s because it is not only the main castle structures that you’ll be building here, but the whole mountainside as well, decorating it with Grass Blocks and leaves, so it looks nothing but realistic.

That said, you’ll be feeling prouder than ever when you’ve got this build in the bag. It looks quite stunning and genuinely a fortified stronghold that no Creeper or Illager can reach without you spawning them deliberately. It’s surely worth taking the time out with a couple of friends to attempt creating the Fortified Castle for a homestead just like no other.

35. Substantial Castle

Required Materials:

  • Stone, slabs, stairs.
  • Stone bricks, stairs, slab, walls.
  • Spruce planks, slabs, fence, stripped spruce logs, stairs, trapdoor, door.
  • Cobblestone, stairs.
  • Mossy Cobblestone.
  • Cracked stone bricks.
  • Mossy Stone Bricks.

The Substantial Castle dons a rustic outlook that seems exceedingly impressive to us. This sizable build consists of a central main building where you’ll create your storage rooms, a kingsize bedroom with hefty decorations, and a separate library filled with Bookshelves for crafting.

In addition, there’s a whole section specified only for soldiers, should you choose to build an army of protectors. There’s even a barn and animal pen inside to breed animal mobs in the game and keep them healthy.

You’ll be needing Stone, Stone Brick, and Spruce for the most part of this castle, all of which are easily acquired more or less. Therefore, the Substantial Castle is capable of being built in Survival Mode even if you don’t have someone to accompany you. What’s more, is that you should pay attention to the intricately designed walls of the fortress as they serve as inspiration for one of the best Minecraft castle wall ideas in the game.

36. Basic Castle

Required Materials:

  • Stone.
  • Cobblestone, walls.
  • Smooth Andesite, Slabs.
  • Spruce Planks, Stairs, Slabs.

The Basic Castle is one of those starter projects that can teach you how to build a full-fledged castle in the game. There isn’t a lot that will go into this build, apart from a fair amount of effort and time if you’re a newcomer to Minecraft. Most of the Basic Castle will be built using Gray Concrete, which can be acquired by watering Gray Concrete Power. It’s not a hard resource to craft, even for inexperienced players.

This build heavily relies on how you want to build the castle for yourself. It’s exempt from other castle ideas in the game that compel you to follow a specific format. This means that you can switch up the total height and the length of the castle in any way you prefer. The same goes for its interior which can be lined with nothing but your imagination.

37. Austrian Castle

Required Materials:

  • Pink concrete.
  • Sandstone.
  • Birch planks.
  • Pink wool.
  • Oak log.

The Austrian Castle is no less than a mammoth in the game. Despite its size and apparent effort, it’s recommended to complete this build in Survival Mode. In addition, there’s a bit of a background on this Minecraft build.

The design borrows inspiration from the real-life Burg Kreuzenstein in Austria which happens to be one of the hottest tourist attraction sites in the country.

The unit has taken some users months to manifest, so you’re better off gathering a squad of experienced builders and going to town on the massive Austrian Castle. The journey will be difficult, but the reward will be equally thrilling.

A useful trick that pro players implement is building the interior first rather than the exterior. This is undoubtedly harder to do, but it makes potential hiccups happen a lot less frequently when you get to the exterior part of the whole build.

38. Pink Castle

Required Materials:

  • Pink concrete.
  • Smooth Quartz slabs, stairs.
  • Birch slabs.
  • Spruce Trapdoor.
  • White concrete.
  • Birch Stairs, fence, slab, planks.
  • White Wool.
  • Pink Wool.

This castle design is definitely the one for you if you’re a female gamer. Don’t mind us generalizing the pink color with dames only, but it’s something more suited for girls that are looking to make cute castles in the game.

After all, you won’t find the aforementioned Blackstone Castle in your world adorable, would you? This build is teeming with decorations all over the place with attractive designs and an exceedingly desirable outer side pool.

To look at the matter at hand from another perspective, you can build the Pink Castle for your wife or girlfriend if you’re a male gamer. Nothing better than investing a ton of time and effort to create your significant other a beautiful, full-blown castle.

You’ll need several stacks of Pink ConcreteWhite ConcreteIron TrapdoorBirch PlanksSmooth Quartz Stairs, and Pink Wool for the bed. It’s surely one of the prettiest castle designs we’ve ever come across, so do try it out in your Minecraft world and see what your loved one thinks of it.

39. Hidden Minecraft Castle

Source: Build Therapy

Required Materials:

  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone.
  • Oak Slabs.
  • Stripped Oak Log.
  • Dark Oak Fence.

You must be wondering: How can a castle ever be hidden due to its skyscraping size? You’re quite right to ask that question, but consider looking at the word “hidden” in a different light. Here, the Hidden Castle is built on top of an island that is thousands of blocks away from the spawn point and atop a large ocean.

Of course, you’ll have to build the island yourself as well, so don’t think of this castle design idea as a walk in the park. It’s best to gather your squad and work on this collaboratively.

You can see how accessory structures are decorated with Grass Blocks to give them an abandoned island-like look where the forest growth is uncontrollable and simply arbitrary. Therefore, you’re looking at more of a fantasy-style build here rather than a basic one.

  • Black stone.
  • Black stone brick.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone brick.
  • Andesite.
  • Spruce and dark oak planks.
  • Smooth stone.

This is it, folks. This is the zenith of all the castle ideas in the entirety of the world ever to exist. Talk about integrating the magical world of Harry Potter with Minecraft and ending up building one of the most famed fictional buildings across the spectrum.

However, this is a colossal project that can take you months to fully generate if you’d want to go for the entire island and not just the castle. If you think you can manage to pull off such a feat, we recommend shooting for it. You’re going to get praised as the all-father of Minecraft upon creating the Hogwarts Castle and that would be nothing but well deserved.

Moreover, you’ll find every bit of detail introduced in the actual Harry Potter movies effortlessly. There’s the Great Hall where all the students are sat down for important announcements and dinner. You’ll find this area decorated with the typical hanging lights as shown in the films and described in the books.

You won’t believe it but you’ve even got the Diagon Alley in there filled with people, sorcerers, and magical shops. If this isn’t single-handedly the best Minecraft castle idea, we just don’t know what is.

41. Spruce Castle

Minecraft wooden castle
Spruce Castle (Image Credit: EWEN Minecraft)

Required Materials:

  • Spruce Logs, Planks, stairs, fence.
  • Dark Wood Stairs, Fencegate and Fence.
  • Deepslate Bricks Stairs and Wall.

Moving on with our Minecraft Castle Ideas, we have a Mansion which also fits into a castle description. The overall cryptic and dark look with fortified walls was enough in our eyes to include this special build in our list. First and foremost, the design was made by a talented YouTuber called EWEN Minecraft. To begin with the castle build, you will first need an ample source of wooden based blocks, specifically Spruce Logs, Planks, and several other blocks that fall within that category.

Once you’ve collected the building resources, it will be time to pick a spot that will be the base of your Spruce Castle. Keep in mind that you need a large area. In our opinion, any woodland-based biome would be the best for your Castle since it is also made out of Dark-shaded wood. The overall look of the wooden castle will excel in the middle of the forest.

To begin with, you will need to lay down the foundation using the Spruce Logs in a 45 by 45 block-wide field. Within the outer foundation, you will put in four semi-foundations of 13 by 13 block wide field. From here on you can begin forming the structure of the castle which will hold almost all the survival necessities a player needs.

Within the Spruce Castle, you can make your own stable, farm fields holding different crops, a mining entrance, a workstation, and an enchantment room, and along with all of these, you will obviously have ample space to make your storage room and a bedroom.

42. Nether Fortress

Nether keep build minecraft
Nether Fortress Castle (Image Credit: Linard)

Required Materials:

  • Polished Blackstone.
  • Blackstone.
  • Basalt.
  • Obsidian.
  • Campfires.

No not that Nether Fortress! A one for your personal use, yes you read that right, thanks to Linard a talented YouTuber, you can now build a huge Nether Castle/Fortress. The Build itself is truly outrageous, if you’re in creative mode then you won’t really feel the constant pressure of dying to uncountable threats in the Nether along with collecting all sorts of sources.

For the Nether Fortress build you will need tons of resources. While getting the resources you need to keep in mind that the block is not flammable, because if you use something like a log or plank, then you’d be at the risk of getting your castle burned down by a Ghast. Hence, it’s best to use Polished Blackstones for most of the structure.

The Blackstone perfectly complements the eerie atmosphere of the Nether. Along with that, you can also integrate a few netherracks and tinted red glasses here and there. The build features a large Nether portal, along with a bridge and four towers.

43. Small Nether Castle

nether base minecraft
Small Nether Castle (Image Credit: Nexy)

Required Materials:

  • Polished Blackstone Bricks.
  • Blackstone.
  • Polished Blackstone Brick stairs, slabs, and walls.
  • Obsidian.

On the contrary, you can also opt for a smaller and humbler Castle design in the Nether. This build (designed by Nexy) is user-friendly and does not require too many resources. Hence, as long as you can hold your ground, you’ll be good to roll on with the Small Nether Castle Build in Minecraft. The Castle is not only a safehouse but it also holds some important rooms and farms.

Most of the exterior of the Small Nether Castle will be made by using Polished Blackstone Bricks. Therefore, get around 18-20 stacks of Polished Blackstone Bricks for the complete design. Of course, you will also need some other blocks like Polished Blackstone stairs, slabs, and walls.

The Nether Castle will have four towers in total. Two of them will be placed within the walls of the castle and will be a lot taller than the other two. The latter will be placed on the front wall guarding the entrance. The interior of the castle is totally up to you. You can create workstations, enchantment & storage rooms, along with Nether Wart Farms.

44. Underground Castle

Minecraft underground castle build
Underground Castle (Image Credit: TheMythicalSausage)

Required Materials:

  • Stone.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Stone Bricks.
  • Mossy Cobblestone.
  • Spruce Logs and Planks.

The Underground Castle design is probably one of the easiest ones to make off this list. It doesn’t require any extravagant or rare material, plus it’s best suited for a solo player, hence, it’s not going to be as huge as some of the other Minecraft Castles we mentioned earlier. The castle will be submerged underground so it also gives out a minimal and secretive vibe.

First and foremost, you’ll need to get your hands on some Stone and Wood blocks including Cobblestone, Stone bricks, Mossy Cobblestone, and Spruce logs and planks. With these foundation blocks, you can easily create your Underground castle. To put things into perspective, your castle will be built within an area of 13×13 blocks.

So make sure you clear up a field and start digging down at least 7 blocks from the ground level. The boundary or your castle will be built out of Stone bricks, whereas the interior can be filled out with any block of your choice. Despite its size, the Underground Castle design (created by TheMythicalSausage) can hold a bedroom, smelting/enchanting/storage room, brewing station, mining entrance, and a nether portal!

45. Dark Castle

Required Materials:

  • Deepslate Bricks.
  • Polished Blackstone.
  • Polished Blackstone Bricks.
  • Polished Basalt.
  • Nether Bricks.
  • Crying Obsidian.

The Dark Castle is an impressive and massive build idea in Minecraft that’s best undertaken with friends, especially in survival mode. Here’s how to create it:

  1. Group Building: Gather a group of friends or players to work on this large-scale project, as it requires significant effort and resources.
  2. Size and Design: The Dark Castle design occupies a space of about 50×50 blocks wide. The exterior wall primarily consists of Polished Blackstone Bricks and Deepslate Bricks. Add some mossy cobblestone blocks for a medieval touch. You’ll also need Nether Bricks for the roof caps of the castle towers.
  3. Additional Blocks: To enhance the overall look of the Dark Castle, use a variety of other blocks and materials.
  4. Lord’s Tower: The Dark Castle features a designated Lord’s Tower, which is the highest point of the castle, providing awe-inspiring views.
  5. Location: Place the Dark Castle on top of a mountain to make it stand out, especially at night.

46. Medieval Gothic Castle

Medieval Gothic Castle (Image Credit: Fiki & Biki)

Required Materials:

  • Stone.
  • Granite.
  • Diorite.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Dark Oak Logs and Planks.
  • Andesite.

Next up on our list of Minecraft Castle Ideas, we have yet another huge build lined up for you. The Gothic Medieval Castle requires tons of different blocks. To be honest it’s even larger than the Dark Castle we mentioned earlier. Therefore, it’s best to construct this Castle if you’re playing on a shared server with your friends. If you’re playing alone then the build could take you real-life days to complete.

For the structure, you’ll need all kinds of stone blocks. These include basic Stone, Cobblestone, Diorite, Andesite, Cobbled Deepslate, Granite, and many more. The roof will be made out of Planks and Granite Stairs. The choice is plank is up to you but we’d suggest going for something darker for example Dark Oak or Spruce Wood.

The Gothic Medieval Castle holds multiple balconies, halls, and towers which means that you can integrate almost anything within the walls. You will also have an open yard within the open walls which you can turn into a workstation or a dueling field with your friends!

47. Stone Castle

Minecraft Stone Fortress build
Stone Castle (Image Credit: JINTUBE)

Required Materials:

  • Stone.
  • Stone Bricks.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Dark Oak Logs, planks, and stairs.

The Stone Castle is a rather minimal design, especially when compared to the previous two builds on our list. The idea was shared by JINTUBE on YouTube. To start things off you only need a few blocks when it comes to the exterior of the Stone Castle. So to begin the construction, you need to make sure that you have enough Stone and Stone bricks. As for the rooftops, you will need Dark Oak Logs, Planks, and stairs.

Apart from that, for the interior you can use all sorts of blocks, but we recommend going for Oak Planks or Terracotta. As long as you manage all the resources beforehand, then you’d be able to easily follow the tutorial and build the castle in no time.

Let’s now talk about all the selling points of this Stone Castle in Minecraft. The Stone Castle has a Library, Storage room, Yard, Kitchen, Keep, and space for a Prison as well! On top of that the high towers will allow you to get a good view of your surroundings too.

48. Fantasy Japanese Castle

Required Materials:

  • Snow Blocks.
  • Stripped Oak Logs.
  • Stripped Dark Oak Logs.
  • Stone.
  • Deepslate Tile Slab.

Japanese Builds in Minecraft never go wrong. The Japanese architecture style is by far the most famous in Minecraft, so why not go for a Fantasy Japanese Castle? Constructing the build will surely make you feel like a Samurai lord in Minecraft, and it will surely stand out in the lobby if you’re playing online.

Nevertheless, let’s now talk about the basics of making the Fantasy Japanese Castle in Minecraft. You will need about 1400 Snow Blocks, 1263 Stripped Oak Logs along with tons of Stone, Stripped Dark Oak Logs, and plenty of other items for the decor and interior. The castle holds multiple floors.

The structure may seem a lot smaller than the other Castles on the list but believe us, the Japanese Castle is large enough to hold a whole squad along with all the necessities. In addition to that, you can also build Japanese Houses around the Castle to make a whole town.

49. Small Castle

Minecraft Small Castle idea
Small Castle (Image Credit: GoldRobin)

Required Materials:

  • Stone Bricks.
  • Cobblestone.
  • Blackstone.
  • Polished Andesite.

The Small Castle (designed by GoldRobin) is the perfect base for solo players in Survival mode. It’s easily constructible and only needs some basic materials which you can surely get easily, regardless of the biome you’re in. Small Castle’s structure is quite lowkey, with a single hall (split into two floors) along with a high tower. Compared to all the other builds in our Minecraft Castle Ideas list, this one has to be the easiest!

As for the materials, you will need to get some Stone Bricks, Polished Andesite, Cobblestone, and Blackstone for the rooftops. Other than that, you can decorate the exterior with leaves, vines, trapdoors, and stained glass panes.

The main hall can hold a workstation along with a small storage place. Although, you could later create a basement for a full fledge storage space. Nevertheless, across the hall, you can climb up the tower which will give you a 360 view of the area. Although, it is important to know that this Small Castle is only suitable for a single player. So if you’re playing with friends and looking to share a Castle then this one isn’t for you.

Prismarine Castle (Image Credit: OmniGod Gamer)

Required Materials:

  • Prismarine Bricks.
  • Dark Prismarine.
  • Prismarine Blocks and walls.
  • Warped Fences.
  • Sea Lanterns.

If you’ve had your fair share of Castle builds in Minecraft then it’s quite possible that you’d be bored with Dark, Japanese, and Medieval Castle. In that case, you can go for something like the Prismarine Ocean Castle which was shared by OmniGod Gamer on YouTube. It’s unique and offers a change of scenario when it comes to Minecraft Castles.

As it’s obvious by the name, you would need tons of Prismarine Bricks (20-21 stacks), Dark Prismarine, and Block of Diamond (can be replaced by any similar block). Other than that you will also need Prismarine blocks and walls. For the decoration, you will need Warped Fences, Prismarine slabs, fences, and Sea Lanterns.

The Prismarine Castle has four towers on each corner of the build. The central area can be used to hold all sorts of rooms, depending on your priorities. You can also keep an open yard for a small farm field. The towers help fortify the castle like no other, you can your friends can get on top of them and take down mobs from blocks away! And so with the Prismarine Fortress, we wrap up our list of Minecraft Castle Ideas.

Conclusion

And you’ll really want to plan this thing out with some proper Minecraft Castle Ideas Blueprints. Nothing is going to sting quite as much as realizing that you’ve spent days on a section of the city, only to find out that it’s not symmetrical or that it has some other major flaw you’ve overlooked.
