Modern Warfare 2: Best M16 Loadout & Class Setup

The M16 is a classic Assault Rifle weapon in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. If you are using it as a main weapon, it is important to use the best Loadout and Class Setup for your M16 Assault Rifle. M16 is one of the weapons that you can unlock through the Weapon Platforms by leveling up. By using the right load-outs for the weapon, you will be able to turn it into a powerhouse just by equipping some of the best perks and attachments for the deadly rifle. 

M16 Loadout 1

My first MW2 M16 loadout will focus more on Hip Fire Accuracy and Speed.

• Stock: The Demo Fade Pro Stock 
• Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot

Perks And Equipment For The Loadout

Following are some of the best perks and equipment that you can utilize for the loadout. 

•  Perk 1: Bomb Squad 
•  Perk 2: Double Time 
•  Ultimate Perk: Fast Hands 
•  Bonus Perk: Quick Fix 
•  Field Upgrade: Dead Silence. 
•  Tactical Equipment: Stun Grenade 
•  Lethal Equipment: Semtex 

For the base perks, I use Double Time and Bomb Squad. These perks can help you out a lot if you are looking to reduce the incoming damage from explosives thrown at you by the enemies.

• Furthermore, using these perks, you will be able to increase your sprint speed around the map and be able to navigate around it a lot faster. 
• Other than that, using the Fast Hands will significantly improve your reload speed and save you a lot of time during battles.
• For tactical and lethal equipment, I use Stun Grenades and Semtex.
• The Dead Silence Field Upgrade will help you out a lot as well if you are using an M16 assault rifle. 

M16 Loadout 2

For the next best M16 loadout in Modern Warfare 2, I will be focusing more on the line of sight attribute and strengthening the aim. 

Following are the details of the loadout for M16. 

•  Ammunition: 5.56 Armor Piercing 
•  Magazine: 45-Round Mag 
•  Stock: Corio Precio Factory 
•  Underbarrel: Vx Pineapple Vertical Grip 
•  Rear Grip: Xten Grip 
•  Optic: Hybrid Firepoint, S Z Reflex, Or Cronen Mini Red Dot 

Best Perks And Equipment

•  Perk 1: Overkill 
•  Perk 2: Scavenger Or Battle Hardened 
•  Ultimate Perk: Hardline Or High Alert 
•  Bonus Perk: Quick Fix Or Fast Hands 
•  Tactical Equipment: Shock Stick 
•  Lethal Equipment: Semtex 
•  Field Upgrade: Portable Radar 

The perks have significantly improved in COD Modern Warfare 2. Therefore, it is important to utilize them in the best way possible. 

Perks 

For the Base Perks, I will be going for Battle Hardened and Overkill for the loadout. You can also go for Scavenger if you want to depending upon your preferences.

• Next, you have the Fast Hands perk, which, as the name suggests, will help you switch weapons faster.
• With increased weapon swap speed, you will be able to utilize your secondary weapon in combat more efficiently. 
• Moreover, Hard-Line or High Alert will serve as your Ultimate perk, providing you with a couple of features to choose from.
• If you are looking to opt for something alternative, then you can try replacing the Battle Hardened perk with Scavenger.
• To keep your health up at all times, the Quick Fix Perk will help you out a lot. 

Equipment 

Next,  for Tactical Equipment, I suggest using the Shock Stick. The equipment is able to attach to a surface and shock anyone that interacts with it. 

For Lethal Equipment, I use Semtex, which is good for enemies who are trying to attack from a distance and for setting traps. You can also go for the Stun Grenades or the Frag Grenades if the situation requires it. 

Field Upgrade 

For the Field Upgrade, I recommend using the Portable Radar, which has a good charging rate and can help you locate enemies nearby. 

Hopefully, if the enemies do not have the ghost perk, you will be able to track them using the portable radar. The killstreak selection depends entirely on your play style and the goal you want to achieve with your weapon. 

Secondary Weapon 

For the loadout, you can also go with the FSS Hurricane Submachine Gun SMG or the 12 Shotgun Expedite. Both are close-range weapons, and you will be able to cover a diverse range by using M16 as your primary weapon and FSS or Expedite as your secondary weapons. 

How To Unlock M16 Assault Rifle

M16 is one of the best Assault Rifles in COD, and it is very much like the entries of M16 in the previous titles of the game. With M16, you will get a three-round burst attack. Furthermore, the burst attack will increase the high Time To Kill, otherwise known as TTK, in the game. 

Unlocking M16 in Modern Warfare 2 requires you to move up the levels in the Weapon Platforms. However, before you can unlock the M16 in COD, you will need to increase the level of 556 Icarus LMG. By leveling it up to Level 14, you will be able to unlock the M16 assault rifle. 

After that, you need to select the weapon from the receiver platform. It can be obtained from the new and improved Gunsmith System that COD Modern Warfare 2 has to offer. 

After that, you can access the weapon by going into your inventory. If you want to unlock more weapons, then you simply have to level up in the Weapon Platforms. From there, you will be able to obtain a lot of base weapons in COD. Then you will be able to unlock new Receivers as well. 

My Take On M16

The M16 assault rifle is one of the best weapons with tactical loadouts in COD Modern Warfare 2. The burst fire mode of the weapon makes it unique from the other weapon types in the category. Personally, I find the weapon more stable and easy to control as compared to other ARs with heavy recoil. If you intend to use the M16 as your main weapon for several matches, then it is important to have the perfect loadout for it as well.
