Therefore, the mods we mention in this guide are completely safe, and they are tried and trusted. So, there is no need to go through a long process of verifying it.

The purpose of these mods is to mainly improve Monster Hunter Rise’s gameplay, weapons, graphics, User Interface, enemies, and more. If you are interested in Monster Hunter Rise weapons and their builds, then you must read Bowgun Build and Horn Build.

REFramework

Monster Hunter Rise: REFramework mod
REFramework Mod

This mod is quintessential as it will allow you to enable the modding tools, which are created by praydog, and it will allow you to experiment with mods that are more complex and require scripting. It is also optimal for mods that might affect your Monster Hunter Rise’s time scaling, FOV, and other settings. Almost every mod that you want to install will have a prerequisite for installing the REFramework mod.

To install the mod, extract the dinput8.dll from the zip file into your Monster Hunter Rise game install folder. You can install the scripts in the “reframework/autorun” folder. Lastly, the plugins will be installed in the “reframework/plugins” folder. Moreover, you can load the Loose DLL Files with no REF functionality in that folder as well.

Embers – Cinematic Reshade

Monster Hunter Rise: Embers Mod
Embers Cinematic Reshade Mod

This mod is preferably for those who have played Monster Hunter Rise’s predecessor. It will make the game look like Monster Hunter World. The visuals will be desaturated, the sharpness will increase, and there will be some more graphics adjustments, changing the view of the game.

Once you download the mod, move the Embers.ini file to the .exe directory. After that, from the drop-down, select the option; you will probably need to click on “reload effects” so that the AO can work properly. You will also need to install some extra effects, so your work here is 100% done. Find the effects here:

Clarity Shader

This mod also changes the graphics of the game. As the name suggests, it improves the visual clarity of the game. Without making any major changes, it will increase the graphical fidelity. In Monster Hunter Rise, there are some jagged horizontal lines and a blurring effect that diminishes to details of the background and the characters.

The Clarity Shader mod is created by Revonlieke, and it will smooth out these graphical issues along with adding a slight increase in contrast and saturation, which results in a vibrant look.

You can install the mod by following these three simple steps:

  1. Download and Install the HQAA shader effect. Once it is done, select “code” so you can download the .zip file.
  2. You will need to move HQAAlite.fx and HQAA.fx files to:
    …\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterRise\reshade-shaders\Shaders
  3. Then move SearchTex.png and AreaTex.png files to:
    …\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterRise\reshade-shaders\Textures

Overwrite if the need comes.

Rise Scripts

Mod: Rise Scripts
Rise Scripts Mod

If you have a strong gaming pc, we recommend you install this. The mod is basically a compilation of scripts for the REFramework. It will allow you to make changes in the technical aspects of the game.

Let’s say you have a 60Hz monitor, and you don’t want to watch cutscenes at 60 fps because of VSync. You should then use the mod to remove the FPS cap. You can also set the frames to unlimited or at a specified number. However, the mod is a bit more complicated, so make sure you follow the instruction given in the mod’s description.

To install the Rise Scripts mod, simply move the files into the autorun folder. However, if you want to change the fps limit, then just open the file through notepad. You will see the “YourMaxFPS” value; change it to the frames you desire.

Don’t forget to put .0 at the end of it, and don’t forget to check how much fps your PC can handle. Also, if you want to change the resolution scale, then open the resolution_scale file and change the “ImageQualityRate” to the resolution you desire.

HunterPie v2 – Overlay and Rich Presence

Monster Hunter Rise is all about information. The more information you get in the game, the better decisions you take. Information is heavily required when there is a giant monster battling against you.

If you also rely on additional information, then install this mod as you will not have to sift through the menu constantly. The mod will add an overlay and a sleek HUD element that is easy to read. It will show you buffs, weapon stats, debuffs, armor stats, and more. You will also have an option to change the position of each element on your screen.

To install the HunterPie v2 – Overlay and Rich Presence mod, simply follow these steps:

  1. Download and Install .NET 5.0 Desktop Runtime
  2. Open NexusMods or GitHub to download the .zip package.
  3. Extract the .zip file
  4. Run the executable file inside the extracted folder, which is HunterPie.exe

Monster Weakness Icon Indicator

Mod: Monster Weakness Icon Indicator

The mod will not give you a HUD layout like the previous one. However, you can take advantage of the information conveyed in the game through this mod. It will add a small icon to the game, and its purpose is to show the elements that make the monster you are hunting weak.

Monster Weakness Icon Indicator will save you time and the need to remember so many things while fighting against different monsters. The mod is created by Celluloid. To install it, simply unzip the files and move them to the game folder. If there is an overlap, then rename the file “re_chunk_000.pak.patch_000.pak” to “~patch001.pak” or “~patch002.pak.”

4K HUD Mod

Mod: 4K HUD
4K HUD Mod

Although the game is now available on Microsoft Windows, the game was originally released on Switch. The User interface has come with features that are still linked to the Switch programming.

The 4K HUD Mod will remove the standard HUD and User interface in the game and replace it with a higher resolution version. This is possible because of the upscaling to 4K resolution and using a mix of recreated elements.

Once you download the mod, install it by following these steps:

  1. Download and Install the Fluffy Manager
  2. Open the directory where you installed the Fluffy Manager. Then go to Games/MHRise/Mods, where you will have to unpack 4K HUD Mod.rar
  3. Open the Fluffy Manager and enable the “4k HUD Mod”
  4. Open the game

Weapon Stay Big

If you are one of those gamers, who does not tolerate watching their weapon shrink every time they are sheathed. Then the Weapon Stay Big mod by Cursey is for you. Great Swords are basically the most common offender.

However, you will see most weapons shrunk down to size when you put them away, and these weapons also have a certain girth. With the Weapon Stay Big mod, your weapons will not shrink at all. Rather, they will stay big, and it will not even affect the game’s performance. Install it by simply putting its script in the REFramework autorun folder.

Layer Any Weapon

Mod: Layer Any Weapon

You might want to play with a weapon having a layer like it is Rampage S, and if that is the case, then get the Peasly Wellbot’s Monster Hunter Rise mod. Once you install this, all the weapons in your Equipment Box are selectable at Smithy. There you can choose any of these to ‘Layer Rampage Weapons.’

However, make sure that you have installed the REFramework mod and made a backup of your progress before installing ‘Layer Any Weapon.’ Once you install the mod, you can change the layer of the weapon through these steps:

  1. First, equip the weapon you want to be copied
  2. Through the REFramework overlay, open the [Layer Any Weapon] menu
  3. Then click on “Save Held Weapon to Layer Slots”
  4. Now equip the weapon you want the appearance to copy to
  5. From the appropriate save slot, click on the “Apply to Weapon” option
  6. Lastly, reload the weapon model completely

Drop Rates Enhanced

Mod: Drop Rates Enhanced
Drop Rates Enhanced Mod

One of the complaints Monster Hunter Rise players do is that certain monsters drop rare unbalanced items mostly. If you have a mutual feeling, then get Korayshin’s mod ‘Drop Rates Enhanced.’ It will reward you in a balanced way once you defeat a monster.

It is compatible with multiplayer sessions as well. However, you will have two options when installing the mod. One is balanced, and the other is an unbalanced version; they will increase the number of rewards by 0.5 and 2, respectively. We would prefer you choose the balanced option as it will make the game interesting for you.

You can install the mod by either using the Fluffy Manager or extracting the file to the Monster Hunter Rise folder having the same .exe.

Enhanced Wisp of Mystery and Rebirth Melding Rate

Use ShizuDesu’s mod if you want to reduce the amount of grind. The mod will improve the melding rate for decorations in Monster Hunter Rise. All of the skills will have a 97-99% chance of getting their highest level. Both primary and secondary skills charms are included in it.

Another plus point of the mod is that from the pool available, it will remove the less desirable endgame skills. Some of those skills are Carving Pro, Botanist, and Geologist. You can install it using Fluffy Manager 5000 or pak patch version; use only one of these.

Remove Monster Kill-Cam Plus Stylish Slow-Mo Finishers

Mod: Remove Monster Kill-Cam Plus Stylish Slow-Mo Finishers

All of the quests in Monster Hunter Rise end anti-climatically. Your character just defeats the monster, and there is no celebration. It might feel boring, and the achievement might not seem so big. To spice things up, install Bolt’s mod called ‘Remove Monster Kill-Cam Plus Stylish Slow-Mo Finishers.’

Each of your quests will end on a high note with it as the final hit to the monster will play out in slow motion while removing the boring kill cam as soon as the monster is dead. The minimum version you need for it is REFramework V1.1.1. Once you install it, download the mod and extract the files into the Monster Hunter Rise folder.

Carve Timer Skip and Fast Return

MH Rise: Carve Timer Skip and Fast Return
Carve Timer Skip and Fast Return Mod

Godoakos mod is for those who don’t want to wait after defeating a monster. As you know, whenever a boss is defeated, there is a carve timer. The ‘Carve Timer Skip and Fast Return’ will skip the in-game carve timer along with the animation when the quest ends.

Then, it will let you return to your camp or Kamura Village within seconds by pressing one click. Also, you need to have the REFramework mod installed beforehand so you can use this one.

There are two ways to install the mod. First, you can download and install the REFramework and then install the d2d plugin for it. Second, you can extract the mod’s .zip file into the Monster Hunter Rise root directory.

Infinite Wirebugs

MH Rise: Infinite Wirebugs
Infinite Wirebugs Mod

If you like using the wirebugs in combats and climbing buildings and mountains, then you should definitely use the ‘Infinite Wirebugs’ mod. Normally, when you use the wirebug, then there is a cooldown. The cooldown resets each time you use the wirebug.

Imagine if you had an infinite amount of wiebugs, no cooldown, and no waiting. The ‘Infinite Wirebugs’ mod by Fylex will let you use it as many times as you like around the damage monsters and in the environment.

After installing the REFramework, move the .lua files into the autorun folder created by REFramework.

All Legal Item In Shop

Mod: All Legal Item In Shop
All Legal Item In Shop Mod

In Monster Hunter Rise, you have to put in good enough work so you can get items from the shop. To collect the items, you will have to search for their locations, go there, go through the difficult obstacles, and then get one of those items.

However, by using All Legal Item In Shop, the in-game shop will change. It will filter out the items that have a selling price of 0 and display all the legal items.

Charm Editor and Item Cheat

If you are a rebel or in the mood for cheating the system, then use Fexty’s mod that will allow you to modify your charm’s skills, levels, rarity, and slots. Moreover, you can get as many items in your inventory as you want.

It does not end here; the Charm Editor and Item Cheat mod will also let you edit your stash of Kamura and Zenny tickets. However, just like other complicated mods, it also requires you to install the REFrameworks mod, and a backup save file first.

Conclusion

That is all from our side, these are the top mods with the most effect on your game, and they are safe to use. Make sure that you don’t play around with the complicated mods, as you might end up making a mistake that cannot be undone. If that happens, you will need to reinstall the game. So, before installing or making changes in a mod, always save a backup progress file.

If you are new to the game, then you surely need to get the Large Beast Gem, Latent Power, and the King Rhino so you can play this game effectively. Make sure you read the MHR Sunbreak Prized Pelt guide if you have the MHR Sunbreak DLC.
