Fire Stone

The Fire Stones are among the oldest Evolution Stones in the Pokemon games. Fortunately, they are relatively easy to get in the Paldea Region. You can buy them from the Delibird Presents Shops at Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa for 3,000 Poke Dollars. However, the Fire Stone will only be available at these shops after you have beaten 3 Gyms in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Apart from that, you can also pick them up as Dropped loot in the Paldea Region. You won’t have to spend any money on these Fire Stones; however, they will require you to search for them. Some of the best locations to look for the Fire Stones are; East Province Area Two and Three. Jacq, your homeroom biology teacher, will also give you a Fire Stone once you add 60 Entries to your Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Pokedex.

Here are all the Pokemon that can be evolved with the Fire Stone and their evolved form:

  • Eevee evolves into Flareon
  • Growlithe evolves into Arcanine
  • Capsakid evolves into Scovillain

Water Stone

Similar to Fire Stones, Water Stones, a long-standing item since Generation 1 in Pokemon Games, are scattered along Paldea Region shorelines or purchasable for 3,000 Poke Dollars from Delibird Presents Shops in Mesagoza, Levincia, and Cascarrafa towns.

Without at least 3 Gym Badges in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, purchasing Stones from the Delibird Presents Shop is unavailable. Water Stones are found near Paldea Region rivers and seas, with additional drops in specific locations like behind the Cascarrafa Gym, West Province Area One, and Area Zero.

Upon achieving 80 Pokedex entries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, your Naranja/Uva Academy biology teacher, Jacq, will gift you a Water Stone.

Here are the Pokemon that you may use the Water Stone:

  • Eevee evolves into Vaporeon.
  • Shellder evolves into Cloyster.

Thunder Stone

There is a certain spot that holds the Thunder Stone in the open world of Paldea. You can also buy the Thunder Stone from the Delibird Presents Shop after beating 3 Gyms. One Thunder Stone will cost you 3,000 Poke Dollars.

You can find the Delibird Presents Shop in some of the major towns in Paldea, such as Mesagoza. Other than that, there is a Thunder Stone sitting on top of one of the Windmills in the West Province Area One. You can also find the Thunder Stones randomly within the same Province. The Thunder Stone can also be won at the Porto Marinada Auction.

Lastly, Jacq will also give you the Thunder Stone as a reward once you have completed 30 Entries in the Paldea Pokedex. After acquiring the Thunder Stone, there are a few Pokemon that can make use of it to evolve themselves.

Here are some Pokemon from the Scarlet and Violet games which can use the Thunder Stone:

  • Eevee evolves into Jolteon.
  • Pikachu evolves into Raichu.
  • Eelektrick evolves into Eelektross.
  • Tadbulb evolves into Bellibot.
  • Magneton evolves into Magnezone.

Leaf Stone

The Leaf Stone is also the final stone you can buy from the Delibird Presents Shop along with Fire, Water, and Thunder Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You can buy the Leaf Stone from the Delibird Presents Shops at Mesagoza, Cascarrafa, and Levincia for 3,000 Poke Dollars

The Leaf Stone is also a Dropped item in the Paldea Region. One of the common areas where you may find the Grass Stone is the Tagtree Thicket, which can be found next to the East Province Area Three and North of Zapapico town.

Unlike the other stones, the Leaf Stone can only evolve one pokemon in the game. Hence, if you get only a single Leaf Stone, that would be enough for you to add the entry to the Paldea Pokedex.

  • Eevee evolves into Leafon

Sun Stone

Unfortunately, the Sun Stone and the rest of the stones mentioned below can not be bought from the Delibird Presents Shop. Nonetheless, that does not mean you can’t obtain them in the Paldea region.

First and foremost, you can get plenty of Sun Stones in the East Province Area Three right next to the River. You can also find a few Sun Stones in the Asado Desert and the West Province Area One. Apart from that, players can also get the Sun Stone through the Artazon Gym Test.

In the test, you will need to find 10 Sunflora in Artazon. Once you complete the test, you will be rewarded a Sun Stone. Lastly, the Sun Stone is also available as a reward at the Porto Marinada Auction.

Let us now look at all the Pokemon that you can evolve using the Sun Stone:

  • Petilil evolves into Lilligant
  • Sunkern evolves into Sunflora

Ice Stone

The Ice Stone is a rather newer Evolution stone in the Pokemon games. Introduced in Generation 7. As we mentioned earlier, any stones apart from the founding four (Fire, Water, Thunder, and Leaf Stone) can not be bought from the Delibird Presents Shop.

Hence, you must thoroughly search for the Ice Stone in the Paldea Region if you plan to get it. Luckily, the Ice Stone is a common Dropped item in a few specific areas. These places include the region of Glaseado Mountain. You can also find an Ice Stone near the Delizapa Passage in the West Province Area Three.

Lastly, the Ice Stone, at times, is also available at the Porto Marinada Auction House. So, if you regularly participate in auctions in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, that’s another viable method to get the Ice Stone.

It is time to review some Pokemon that are capable of using the Ice Stone:

  • Eevee evolves into Glaceon
  • Cetoddle evolves into Cetitan
  • Crabrawler evolves into Crabominable

Moon Stone

Introduced in Generation 1, the Moon Stone, unlike those available at the Delibird Presents Shop, is found in the Paldea Region through various methods. Hunt for them as Dropped items, notably in South Province Area Three or the path between Mesagoza and Artazon towns. Some claim success in Area Zero, though unverified. Near the Lighthouse in Porto Marinada, it’s also a dropped item.

Additionally, secure a Moon Stone by participating in the Porto Marinada Auction house or receiving one as a gift from Jacq after completing 210 Pokedex entries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Like the Leaf Stone, the Moon Stone can evolve a single pokemon.

  • Jigglypuff evolves into Wigglytuff

Shiny Stone

Moving on, we have the Shiny Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. The Shiny Stone was introduced in the Pokemon franchise back when Generation 4 was released. You can’t buy the stone from the Delibird Presents Shop. Therefore, you will need to work your way across Paldea to acquire the evolution stone.

To get the Shiny Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, watch for sparkling dropped objects in Paldea. One of the best places to search for the Shiny Stone is the South Province Area Six. The Shiny Stone can be found next to a Waterfall; however, to reach it, your mount should be able to Climb walls. To get the climbing ability, you must defeat the Final Titan Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.

You can also get the Shiny Stone at the Auction house in Porto Marinada. Porto Marinada is located in the West Province Area Two. Lastly, players can also earn the Shiny Stone as a reward from Jacq at the Naranja/Uva Academy after completing 150 entries in the Pokedex.

After you get the Shiny Stone, you can make one Pokemon evolve. This means that the Shiny Stone can only be used on one Pokemon.

  • Floette evolves into Florges

Dusk Stone

The Dusk Stone, a rare evolution stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet can’t be purchased at the Delibird Presents Shop. However, in Montenevera, at the Town’s gym backside, you’ll find a free Dusk Stone as dropped loot.

Another option is Porto Marinada in West Province Area Two, where the Auction occasionally rewards the Dusk Stone. Keep an eye on Auction rewards for opportunities. Jacq at the Academy also rewards a Dusk Stone after 130 Pokedex entries.

Once obtained, use the Dusk Stone on specific Pokemon:

  • Murkrow evolves into Honchkrow
  • Misdreavus evolves into Mismagius

Dawn Stone

Generation 4 introduced the Dawn Stone, which cannot be purchased in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet shops, including Delibird Presents. However, it is commonly found in the open world of Paldea. One location is inside a Cave in East Province Area Three, near the Sun Stone. Another spot is in the Ruins of West Province Area Three, where Bronzor is found. Dawn Stones have also frequently dropped items in these provinces.

Additionally, you can obtain a Dawn Stone by participating in the Auction at Porto Marinada, where daily rewards vary. Regularly check the Port-based Town for updated rewards. Finally, Jacq rewards you with a Dawn Stone after registering 270 entries in your Pokedex.

Finally, you can use the Dawn Stone on two different Pokemon to evolve them:

  • Kirlia (male) evolves into Gallade
  • Snorunt (female) evolves into Froslass

Oval Stone

The last Evolution Stone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is the Oval Stone. Unlike other stones, you can’t purchase them in the Paldea region. Instead, it’s a map drop. To find it, prepare your Miraidon or Koraidon and explore specific provinces.

One location for the Oval Stone is near Casseroya Lake, along the southern shores in West Province Area Three. Additionally, you can find it in North Province Area Two and East Province Area Three, close to the Sun Stone and Dawn Stone. The Oval Stone is unique; it evolves Happiny into Chansey. To achieve this, make Happiny hold the Oval Stone and level it up during the daytime.
