2. To access Larry and battle him, you must solve a puzzle, which involves ordering a Secret Menu Item from the Treasure Eatery.
3. Inside the Medali Gym, you can obtain clues on how to order the secret menu item by battling three trainers. Each trainer will provide you with an item clue.
4. Collect all the clues to decipher the secret menu item order.
5. Successfully order the secret menu item to challenge and defeat Larry, earning yourself a gym badge in the game.

Obtaining The Lemon Clue 

To obtain the first item clue for the secret menu (which starts with a lemon), follow these steps:

1. Inside the gym, find an NPC office worker named Larry in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
2. Ask Larry how the locals season their dishes.
3. Larry will suggest using a squeeze of lemon for a refreshing kick.
4. You’ve obtained the first clue, and the first secret menu item you need to order is lemon.

Obtaining The Grilled Rice Balls Clue 

 For the second clue, you will be required to head outside the gym.

1. Exit the gym and head towards the center of the city.
2. Look for Adara, a student standing next to an ice cream stand.
3. Challenge Adara to a battle to obtain the second clue.
4. After the battle, interact with Adara again.
5. Adara will hint that the “odd one out” at the ice cream stand is significant.
6. Visit the nearby ice cream stand and check the menu, where you’ll find the item “Grilled Rice Balls.”

The second secret menu item you need to order is grilled rice balls, as per Adara’s clue.

Obtaining The Fire Blast Clue 

 Now for the third clue, you will need to interact with one of the students again.

1. Locate a student named Gisela near the Amphitheater Stairs.
2. Battle Gisela and defeat her in a Pokémon battle.
3. After the battle, Gisela will instruct you to go to a dark spot surrounded by stairs.
4. Follow her instructions and head straight down the stairs.
5. Enter the Amphitheater and obtain the secret menu item clue.
6. The third item clue is Fire Blast, which you need to order to challenge the Normal Gym Leader in the game.

Obtaining The Final Clue 

Now you need to obtain one final clue to complete the test.

1. Return to the city and find an NPC named Santiago on the side of the road.
2. Battle Santiago and defeat him in a Pokémon battle.
3. Santiago will advise you to listen to the Blue Bird Pokémon.
4. Follow his instructions by going straight across the road.
5. You’ll find a man with a bluebird Pokémon on his head, constantly shouting “Meedyum! Meedyum!”

The final clue is “medium,” and you need to order a medium item in the Treasure Eatery to complete the secret menu.

Ordering The Secret Menu Item 

After you have successfully obtained all the hints, you need to head toward the treasure eatery and order them.

Head straight towards the treasure eatery and ask for the items in the following order. 

1. Grilled Rice Balls 
2. Medium 
3. Extra Crispy Fire Blast Style 
4. Lemon 

After that, you will be able to meet the Medali gym leader called Larry, and challenge him to a fight. That is all you need to do in order to complete the secret menu item test in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Fighting Larry

4. Type Switch: If your Fighting-type Pokémon struggle, consider switching to Steel or Rock-types. They can absorb damage from moves like Facade. Sudowoodo, with abilities like Hammer Arm and moves like Low Kick, can be particularly useful.
5. Move Façade: Winning the battle will reward you with 6480 prize money and the gym badge. Additionally, you’ll learn the move Façade, which is a Normal-type move with 70 power and 100% accuracy.
