Sometimes you will have to solve some very tricky puzzles in order to challenge the gym leaders, for example, ordering a secret menu item in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Players find the Medali Gym one of the best gyms in Pokemon scarlet and Violet for a number of reasons. The Medali gym has a gym leader called Larry, who has by far one of the best personalities in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Many players tend to battle the gym leader in order to claim their badge.

However, if you are already at that point, you will notice how hard it is to solve the puzzle that is required to access the gym leader and fight him. The tricky puzzle will require you to order a Secret Menu Item. This secret menu item should be ordered, and you need it from the Treasure Eatery. 

While you won’t get much indication on what to do, the game will still allow the players to get three clues on how to order the secret menu item by fighting three trainers present inside the Medali Gym. You will be able to obtain an item clue from each of the trainers making the test easier for you to complete.

Obtaining The Lemon Clue 

One of the first items on the secret menu is lemon, and here’s how you will be able to obtain the first item clue. The first clue is present inside the gym itself.

• You will need to make your way toward the Treasure Eatery and speak to an NPC office worker called Larry in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
• You will have to ask him the question of how the locals season their dishes.
• In reply to that, Larry will answer that he has a tip for you. A nice squeeze of lemon will give any dish a refreshing kick.

Therefore, you will be able to obtain your first clue from Larry, the NPC. The first Secret menu item that you need to order is lemon. 

Obtaining The Grilled Rice Balls Clue 

 For the second clue, you will be required to head outside the gym.

• Make your way toward the center of the city and find Adara. Adara is a student that will be standing next to an ice cream stand.
• You will need to fight with Adara in order to obtain the second clue for the secret menu item. After interacting with Adara and fighting them, you need to interact with them once more. 
• Adara will then give you a hint for the second menu item that you are required to order. Adara will say that the odd one out at the ice cream stands. 
• In order to know what she is talking about, you need to make your way toward the ice cream stand nearby. When you take a look at the menu item of the ice cream stand, you will see a very odd item on the menu Grilled Rice Balls.

Therefore, the second menu item that you are required to order and is your second clue is grilled rice balls. 

Obtaining The Fire Blast Clue 

 Now for the third clue, you will need to interact with one of the students again.

• This student is called Gisela, and you will be able to find her by the Amphitheater Stairs.
• Like before, you will have to battle with Gisela as well. After you have successfully defeated her in a Pokemon battle, you will be able to receive the third clue from her.
• Gisella will tell you that for the third clue, you need to go towards a dark spot surrounded by stairs. All you have to do next is to follow her instructions and go straight down the stairs.
• Enter the Amphitheater, and you will be able to obtain the secret menu item clue here.
• The clue is Fire Blast, and it is the third ingredient that you need to order so that you will be able to challenge the normal gym leader in the game. 

Obtaining The Final Clue 

Now you need to obtain one final clue to complete the test.

• For that, you will need to head towards the city again and look for an NPC on the side of the road. The NPC will be called Santiago, and you need to interact with him.
• After battling Santiago and beating him in the Pokemon battle, you will be able to obtain the final hint for the last item you need to order in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
• Santiago will say that listen to the Blue Bird Pokemon. Now you need to follow his instructions and go straight across the road. There you will be able to locate a man that has a bluebird Pokemon.
• The bluebird Pokemon will be sitting on his head, and it will constantly be shouting Meedyum! Meedyum!.

Therefore, the final hint is medium, and you need to order a medium in the Treasure Eatery to complete the secret menu item. 

Ordering The Secret Menu Item 

After you have successfully obtained all the hints, you need to head toward the treasure eatery and order them.

Head straight towards the treasure eatery and ask for the items in the following order. 

• Grilled Rice Balls 
• Medium 
• Extra Crispy Fire Blast Style 
• Lemon 

After that, you will be able to meet the Medali gym leader called Larry, and challenge him to a fight. That is all you need to do in order to complete the secret menu item test in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. 

If you are in a hurry and don’t want to fight all three trainers in order to obtain the clues, you can just order the items we mentioned. 

Fighting Larry 

Larry will be using Pokemon like Komala, Dudunsparee, and Tera staraptor with moves like a yawn, sucker punch, slam, hyper drill, glare, drill run, façade, and aerial ace. 

We recommend using any Pokemon except the ghost-type ones. Pokemon that belong to the categories of Steel Type, Rock, and Fighting work best against the Pokemon used by Larry. 

A good Fighting Type Pokemon will allow you to take down their Dudunsparee and Komala easily. However, it is Tera Staraptor that you should look out for. Players will want to focus on their defense stat the most here. 

In case you are facing any kind of difficulty in fighting the gym leader we recommend that you try to switch your Pokemon. Therefore, if the fighting style Pokemon are not cutting it out for you, you can switch to the Steel Type or Rock Pokemon.

These types of Pokemon will be able to absorb the damage that comes from moves like façade. A good Pokemon to consider is Sudowoodo in case you are able to use abilities like Hammer Arm.

Furthermore, if you have learned the most like low kick as well it will benefit you a lot in this particular battle. Hopefully, if the players are not that under-leveled they will be able to take the opponent Pokemon down in just a matter of time. After defeating the gym later, you will get 6480 prize money as well as the gym badge.

Furthermore, you will also be able to learn about the movie called Façade. In case you are following the correct gym order, you will be able to level up and will be able to obtain Pokemon up to Level 45.

The Facade is a good move with 70 power and 100% accuracy. Therefore it is important to defeat the gym leader in order to get the normal type of attack move.
