Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are finally out, adding to the fun for all-time pokemon lovers with another game. With the same evolution and trading concept, players are able to gain access to pokemon throughout their journey and experience with the gameplay. In our Pokemon Scarlet and Violet How To Get All Starters guide, we will uncover how you can gain access to all three starters!
Trading Between Game Copies

One of the first things that players need to keep in mind is that they will not be able to gain access to all starter pokemon from one account from the get-go. The game is designed in a way whereby you will need to choose one starter and then roll with it; the actual process of getting all starters can be a bit iffy.
For players that want to get familiar with the Paldea area early on in the game, they will need to first and foremost select from one of three main starters, which will be Fuecoco, Sprigatito, or Quaxly who we will discuss later in detail.
Players are able to gain access to their starter when they have their very first encounter with the Pokemon Professor, and the professor will show up with a selection of three of those above-mentioned starters.
Detailed Method

One of the first ways that players will be able to get their hands on all three starters will be by basically trading between two copies of the game. One of the main ways that players will be able to do that will be if they have two consoles (Nintendo switches) at home and they have also managed to buy two copies of the game, which costs a total of 60 dollars each.
The other method the players can follow is by having another person, either a friend or a relative, who also has a copy of the game, and you are allowed to trade with them either online or locally. However, players should know that they will be able to save on having to have multiple switch accounts if they make the trade locally instead of online.
The first thing that players need to do is to head over to their main switch account and start up the game. From there, they need to progress enough through the game, where the professor gives them the option to choose from any one of the three starters.
After that you want to get enough progress in the game where you can link trade, and in order to go further, you also need to make sure that you have a spare pokemon in your arsenal.
Now, on the second switch, players will need to have a total of two spare profiles. If there is a friend who you are aiming to carry out the trade with, then you need to tell them that they should have two spare profiles active alongside their main account where they are progressing in the game naturally. The reason you want to do that is to save their main save file so that it doesn’t get corrupted or affected.
Next up, have your friend, or if you have your own second Nintendo, have them start up a new game on one of the spare profiles; for ease, let’s make the main account A and the spares B and C. have your friend start up a new game on account B and have them progress enough where they can unlock the trading process in the spare account and then make sure to tell them to save the game.
After that, they want to close the game, and then load up a new game on the spare account C, and do the same thing where they need to progress until they unlock trading. After that, you want to carry out a trade between the main account on your own switch and one of the spare accounts (B or C) from your friend’s account.
Go ahead and trade the starter from the spare account into your main save file on your own account, and then save up the game. From there, you can carry out the same process for the other spare account, C, trade the starter to your main account and then save the game.
One thing that players should know is that if it is their friend who wants to get their hands on all three starters, then the same method can be applied, and the entire process can be carried out but just in reverse for them.
Using One Switch Console

Moving on, the next method that we would like to discuss will be a process that might be one of the easiest for getting all starters by yourself without the need for a second switch console.
Now, the main drawback of this method is that it is unavailable to do as of November 2022. Players will only be able to carry out this method when the Pokemon Home compatibility comes out, which is known to be coming out somewhere around spring 2023, which means that players will need to wait at least 4-5 months for this method to be viable.
However, let’s still discuss the method that takes place. One of the first things that players will need to do will be to gain access to the pokemon home itself, which is a subscription-based service that will cost a total of 2.99 a month in the UK, so it is not all that expensive, and it will cost only a couple of dollars in the US as well.
After doing so, on your own switch, players will need to create three accounts; once again, let’s name them A, B, and C for ease of it. So once again, one main account and two space accounts will need to be made.
From there, launch the game on your main account, from where you will need to progress enough in the game and successfully get to the point where you are able to unlock trading between one account to the other. After that, go ahead and save your game so that you don’t lose any kind of progress and close up the game.
After that, load up the game on a spare B account, and pick a different starter, such as Fuecoco, and you will need to repeat the entire process and have to go through the storyline until you can get access to trading. One thing about repeating this method so many times is that players might start to get frustrated with the number of times they have to carry out the same gameplay.
Save the game on B account, and then head over to the spare account C. start up the game, carry out the entire process again, and get to the point of trading, and make sure that you pick the third starter and not one of the two that you have already chosen to have in your A or B account otherwise the trade simply won’t take place.
Now, you should have three accounts, each of which will have one of the three different starters, and the accounts should be perfectly set up and ready to go on your one switch.
Pokemon Home
After that, you want to make your way over to the Pokemon Home app using your B and C spare accounts, and you will need to drop in your starters into a homebox. Repeat the homebox method on the other accounts too, and then head on over to your main account.
After that, you will be able to take out the pokemon from your homebox, and then transfer them over to your main account, and lo and behold, you will now have access to all three starters.
Breeding

Last but not least, players will be able also to carry out breeding between their desired pokemon, but unlike the common daycare system in other pokemon games, there is no daycare in pokemon scarlet and violet.
However, players should be able to breed them via a picnic. You want to make your way over to Medali, which is a town, and you want to start roaming about until you are able to come across a ditto. Dittos can be hiding in something as simple as a bush. Therefore, you need to pan around a bit to find one.
From there, you want to head over to a restaurant in the town, from where you will need to buy an item that will have an egg power of level 2, and it will increase the chances of you gaining eggs.
After that, you want to head over to an area where you can successfully set up a proper picnic. After that, go ahead and feed a sandwich to the pokemon that you want to breed and is compatible, and if the breeding is successful, then there should be an egg basket in which an egg should appear in it.
Starters
Last but not least, let’s actually discuss the types of starters that players will be able to access. The three starters will range from Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly, and they are all different types.
Quaxly

Starting things off with Quaxly, will fall into the water-type pokemon, and its species will basically be a duckling pokemon. It is known to be white in color and has teal-colored feet and lots of feathers.
It can swim at incredible speeds even when there are the strongest currents facing its way. As for its overall behavior, it will be extremely tidy, hating when its fur gets dirty or ruined. Now, when it comes to evolution, quaxly will end up becoming a Quaxwell whenever it ends up reaching level 16.
Now, when it comes to its overall stats, it will have a base hp of 55, attack of 65, defense of 45, special attack at 50, special defense at 50, and speed of 50.
Fuecoco

Next up, another starter will be known as Fuecoco, who is known to be a fire-type. It is also a tiny crocodile-type pokemon that has a red-colored body, alongside shorts and short legs, and has three teeth, one on the top, and two on the bottom, while it also has a yellow square patch on its belly.
As for its natural abilities, it is known to take in immense amounts of heat via its scales, which can then help it produce energy. The higher the amount of excitement that Fuecoco has, the more players can expect it to produce flame after flame. And as for its general behavior, despite being a fire-type, fuecoco is known to be on the chiller end and can eat as much as possible in one go.
After it reaches level 16, it will evolve into a crocalor, and as for its stats, it will have a base hp of 67, attack of 45, defense of 59, special attack of 63, special defense of 40, and speed of 36.
Sprigatito

Last but not least, sprigatito is the third starter, and it is a grass-type pokemon. Sprigatito is known to be a cat-like pokemon that will have pink eyes and will have dark green and pastel green elements all over its body. Dark green ears are the defining features of the feline, making it look absolutely adorable.
As for its overall behavior, it will be an attention-seeking feline, and will consistently ask you for ample attention, and as for its; natural abilities, it’s able to calm down enemies by using its paws and emitting a calming aroma. Sprigatito essentially acts like a plant, being able to absorb sunlight.
It will evolve into a floragato at level 16, and as for its overall stats, its base HP will be 40, the attack will be 60, the defense will be 54, the special attack will be 45, the special defense will be 45, and speed will be 65.
