Waiting It Out

No matter how simple it may sound, this is the easiest method you can go about for respawning tera type pokemon in Scarlet and Violet. Once you defeat a tera pokemon in a battle, it will disappear. The same is the case for tera type pokemon that you capture in battle. 

For this method to work, just keep in mind where you encountered the tera type pokemon in the first place. After that, you just need to wait for the next day to arrive and go to the same location in the game. There will be a tera pokemon waiting for you over there. Keep in mind that you have to go to the same place, and the game will automatically respawn the tera pokemon.

You don’t have to take any special steps for this method to work. Once you have respawned the tera pokemon you can battle it again for more experience. Or, in case you want that specific tera pokemon you can have another go at capturing it. If it doesn’t work out, you can just repeat the process.

Changing Time On Your Switch

Remember how we mentioned in the previous section that you have to wait an entire day for the tera pokemon to respawn? Well, with this method, you no longer have to wait for such long amounts of time. The way that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet keep track of time in the game is through the time on your Nintendo Switch. So you can manipulate the time on your switch for this to happen in mere moments. 

For this method to work, just go to your settings on the Nintendo Switch. Once you are in the settings menu, scroll down toward the system settings, and you should see the options to adjust the date and time there. Click on that option and change the time on your switch to something a few minutes till midnight. This will give you enough leeway to get back into the game, and by the time you’re in the wild tera pokemon will have respawned.

Keep in mind that you only have to change the time. Do not change the date at all because doing so will notify the game, and you will be charged with a penalty. Like the previous titles in the series, if you attempt to change the date in your Switch, you will be penalized for not being able to participate in any timed events for a whole day. This is why make sure that you only adjust the time, as that is enough to respawn the wild tera pokemon.
