I’ll be honest, when I first read the title of the game, I mostly imagined myself playing a knight simulator with hacking and slashing combat. You know the usual, running around towns, gathering quests, and doing chivalrous deeds. But boy was I wrong as this game took me on a wild ride through a never-before-told Arthurian Legend.

You play as Sir Mordred who is the main highlight of the game. Shocker! right? I was expecting to play King Arthur, but instead, we’re put into the shoes of a baddie. And this is only the beginning of several twists and turns this tale has to offer.

Your main quest as the savior of Avalon is to kill King Arthur; given by the lady of the lake. You lead a pack of 30 heroes into battle. You’re responsible to give them an ample supply of loot and leveling up, otherwise, they might turn on you. It’s a gruesome world quite the contrast from what you’d expect from a wholesome tale about knights. And I’m all up for it.

King Arthur Knight’s Tale had a rocky launch at the start. Problems like random crashes, FPS drops, and overall poor performance hurt the experience of players. However, the developers have been hard at work at improving the game on all fronts.

King Arthur Knight’s Tale might not be a super demanding game, but you’ll still need a decent rig to run the game at proper FPS. Playing the game at lower FPS isn’t really an enjoyable experience. Hence, I suggest you compare your PC specs to the following requirements and gauge how well can you run King Arthur Knight’s Tale.

Window Style: Fullscreen

Texture Details is where you need to balance King Arthur Knight’s Tale’s graphics quality and performance. The best spot for me was at 50% or right in the middle as it gave consistently high FPS and great visuals. However, experience may vary depending on your system configuration. So, it’s best to go through proper testing to see what works.

Shadow Details: Medium

Shadow Details is one of the most taxing settings in King Arthur Knight’s Tale. Using Medium is a good spot to enjoy shadows and good performance. If shadows aren’t a big thing for you, you can drop them too low to improve your performance even higher.

Vsync: Disabled

There’s no need to enable V-sync as it locks your FPS to your monitor’s refresh rate. Since we’re going for no limits on FPS, it becomes counterintuitive. Plus V-sync also introduces input lag that we want to steer clear of at any cost.

Disable Camera Shake: Your Preference

The camera shaking is an effect that has no impact on your performance. If you like the effect, you can turn it on and vice versa.

Subsurface Scattering: Enabled

Subsurface Scattering is a great graphical setting that helps smoother various surfaces in the game. It makes everything look nice, smooth, and well-rounded. Best turn it on as it doesn’t impact your performance that much.

Camera Clipping: Enabled

Camera Clipping is a useful effect that keeps your view of the characters clear without numbing into any obstacles.
