Corrals and Locations

Slime Rancher 2 Corrals
Corrals

Let’s kick things off by introducing the corral. It is essentially a device that you can place in certain select areas. The main aim of these corrals will be to create a sort of farm or ranch for your slimes so that they can be kept at bay. While most slimes are extremely docile and won’t attack your farms unless triggered, you still need to be cautious.

If you want to make your slimes happy but also find an effective way whereby you can generate a stream of income, then using slimes and storing them in corrals is the way to go. Corrals can help safely house your slimes, as it is completely open-air, and allows enough breathing and playing room for the slimes to do whatever they want to. One thing that you need to make sure of is that you need to keep your slimes’ diet pretty regular otherwise they can become feral.

There are a total of 4 areas where you can place down several corrals and start a slime farm, and these are all listed as follows!

Viktor’s Workshop

One of the first places that you can place down and start your slime farm will be at Viktor’s Workshop. If you want to activate it’s a teleporter, then you can do so by making your way over to the Lab, where you can access the teleporter.

The thing is, that the teleporter won’t be immediately activated by you interacting with it, rather thee are a couple of steps. One of the first things that you will need to do is that you will need to find a way to unlock the Ancient Ruins, after which you can buy out The Lab.

After that, you will need to figure out a way to open up the Treasure Cracker MKII, after which you can carry out a range exchange with the Viktor Humphries. With that, the teleporter will be activated and you can access the area. Do not miss out on our Slime Rancher 2 Pogofruit Location and Harvesting guide!

Ogden’s Retreat

Another area where you can access the corrals in Slime Rancher 2 will be Ogden’s Retreat. As far as the teleporter is concerned, it will be present in the Overgrowth, and when you make your way over there for the first time, the teleporter will be present in an open area in the overgrowth.

Once again, you will need to find out a solution so that you can activate the teleporter. To do so, there are two things that you can unlock, one of which will be the Moss Blanket gate, or you can also go for the Ancient Ruins gate and unlock it.

After you’ve done so, you can buy out the entirety of The Overgrowth, after which you will need to further carry out another range exchange with a person known as the Ogden Ortiz. Once you have gotten your hands on the starmail, you can then further activate the teleporter and access it.

Mochi’s Manor

Moving on, the next location that we would like to mention will be Mochi’s Manor. When you wish to activate its teleporter, you can head over to The Grotto, after which you have a few options to unlock the teleporter. You can either head over to the main Indigo Quarry gate, or you can go over to the Indigo QUarry gate that is present in the Ancient Runes.

Once the area has been unlocked, you can go ahead and buy out The Grotto, and then carry out the range exchange with the Mochi Miles, which will then further send out a confirmation starmail and the teleporter will be accessible to you.

The Ranch

The Ranch will be the final area where you can install your corrals, and the interesting thing is that the previous three areas will be expansions of The Ranch. The ranch will provide a couple of locked and unlocked areas to the players, and as for the locked areas, they will need to pay a bit of money to buy them out.

For the already unlocked areas, it will be the previous three that we mentioned before, while the Grotto, The Overgrowth, The Lab and The Docks will all be locked areas that must be purchased before gaining access.

Corral Upgrades

Moving on, there will be different corral upgrades that you can choose from, and you can choose to get any from the ones listed below!

Basic Corral

Starting things off, tour first upgrade won’t be an upgrade to an existing corral, but rather getting your hands on a new one. The main reason why you might want to invest in getting a new corral would be to simply enhance the total number of corrals that you own.

Apart from that, if you are someone that would want to make money by using slimes, then the best way to go about it will be to buy out as many corrals as possible. The overall appearance of a corral will entail it having four structures that will be colored orange and a green see-through barrier through which slimes can’t escape. The average Slime Rancher 2 Corral Cost will cut you back a total of 250 gold.

Music Box

The next item that you can use as an upgrade for corrals in Slime Rancher 2 will be known as a music box. Essentially, it is exactly what it aims to be, which is playing music inside a corral.

The main way that it will do it is to simply install a music player in one of the corral structures that will consistently continue to pump out music notes, and the main aim of the music box will be to decrease the total amount of slime agitation. This allows the slimes to be in a more calm state and they can stay docile for longer periods.

The music box itself is not all that expensive, as it will only cost you a total of 350 gold and can easily be purchased and installed with little to no difficulties.

High Walls

High Walls

One of the main issues that players might run into will be to experience that their slimes are often able to jump out of their enclosures. The reason that it occurs is that they are extremely bouncy naturally and will want to explore further beyond their enclosure, so when they can get the chance to, they will leap out of the enclosure and be free to jump around.

The High Walls upgrade, will grant the player the ability to install higher walls so that any slime is unable to jump out and escape. You might find our Slime Rancher 2 Beginner’s Guide an interesting read!

Air Net

An air net is pretty self-explanatory. While your slimes can stay in the enclosure for long periods, there might still be times whereby event the High Walls upgrade might end up falling short and you won’t be able to contain your slimes in your corrals.

To stop that from happening, one thing that can be done will be to invest in an Air Net upgrade for your corrals by spending a total of 425 gold. The main aim of the air net will be to simply provide a see-through net that won’t allow your slimes to escape and it will also protect them in the long run.

Auto-feeder

When it comes to keeping your slimes healthy, one of the main ways that you will need to do that is to ensure that you consistently feed them time and time again. If you don’t do so, then your slime might end up getting agile and will instead start attacking your farm.

To prevent that, you can use an auto-feeder, which will continue to give out 6 food pieces at set intervals so your slimes never go hungry. The price of an auto feeder will be set to 500 coins.

Solar Shield

You can also go for a solar shield, which will essentially just provide dim lighting for your corrals and it will continue to shade those slimes that are extremely sensitive to light and can’t be left out in the sun for too long.
