Slime Rancher 2 has been recently released as an immersive open-world game whereby players can run about exploring the giant open-world area, while having the freedom to farm slimes, take care of them, grow them, as well as take out dangerous slimes. With that, there are also farms to grow, and many activities to do, alongside getting your hands on map nodes. Rainbow Fields Area
The first map data node location that we would like to discuss will be present in an area that is known as the rainbow fields zone. When you open up your map, you should start by being in an area that is known as the conservatory.
You will be surrounded by the high walls of the conservatory that will be colored a light brown, and they will have arching white pillars laid on top of the brown walls. Stand in front of the entrance that will be pretty wide, and start making your way and go past the main entrance so that you have crossed the entrance and are out of the area of the conservatory.
From there, there will be a small slope that you will need to go down from, so start making your way down and keep going until you can enter the grassy patch area that will have an unkept mud pathway leading across the grass.
You will be surrounded by cliffs, mountains, and rock structures that will seemingly block off your path, except for an arched cross-way that will be carved through the mountainside. Start making your way through the arched cross-way, steer left a bit, and you will encounter a few red slimes that will be enjoying the scenery.
Keep heading straight for a while until you need to steer right a bit, then keep making your way straight again. From there, you will need to keep going until you come across two stone structures that will be carved out in the shape of the slimes that you find roaming about.
Keep heading straight until you come across an edge of the cliff where you need to stop. Take a look at your right, and there will be an item that will be placed on the ground right at the edge of the cliff that will be the first map data node.
Rainbow Fields Second Node
Front the place where you encountered the first data node, you will need to immediately turn around. Once you do, you will be able to encounter a purple, blue and pink field that will be filled with rock structures and grass. Apart from that, there will be tons of yellow and red slimes that will be completely docile and will not hurt you.
From your starting point, start heading for the same slime stone structure that we mentioned previously, and you want to go through it, but this time you want to go back. Right when you cross the arching crossway and steer left, you will be able to encounter a path that seemingly will be leading up.
Make sure that you are extremely careful when you’re crossing the path and going up since the path is extremely narrow and can cause you to fall any second and you can get hurt. Keep heading up it until you can encounter two trees and a stone structure that will be kept neatly between the two trees.
From the trees, steer left, and keep heading on, and you will come across a cliff that will be pretty tall. To get on top of it, you will need to jump high, so do that and you’ll be able to get to the top.
Go down the small slope, steer left, and keep heading forward, until you can come across a small path that will be resembling the narrow path that we mentioned before. Ember Valley
Moving on, let’s discuss the third Slime Rancher 2 Map Data Node Locations which will be present in an area that is known to be the Ember valley zone. Make sure to start by being in the middle of the ember valley, and you will be present on a platform that will represent an ember.
From the main platform, you want to start heading forward, and you need to be extremely careful of the slope that will be in front of you. Therefore, carefully tread your way forward, and from there, stop for a second because there is an extremely steep drop from the edge of the mountainside.
Instead of taking the normal route where the slope leads down, there will be a small platform that you can jump across and onto, so do that. Once you’ve successfully landed on the stone platform, there will be another small stone that you can jump onto, and from there, simply jump down and onto the ground.
Once you start heading forward, you will encounter a lot of stone structures, and apart from the stone structures, there will be tons of red slimes that you will be surrounded by. Make sure to not agitate them, as they can become extremely aggressive if you annoy them, therefore the best thing to do is to simply head forward and not interrupt them.
Keeping going straight until you encounter an entrance that will be carved through a mountain. You want to cross the carving, and keep going on until you come across a small pathway. The pathway will start leading up the mountain, so keep crossing it and head up.
Steer right, and keep going up, after which you will need to take a U-turn and keep going even further up. You will come across a small platform which will have a few slimes stacked up on top of each other. Disrupt them, which will create a stream of water that will help lead you up and towards a mountain cliff where the third node will be located. You might find our Slime Rancher 2 Dash Boots guide!
Ember Valley Fourth Node
There is going to be another node that will be present in Ember Valley. To get your hands on it, start by being in the general area where you found the last node. From there, you want to turn around and start making your way down, and instead of heading down the slope normally, you want to instead prepare to take a long jump.
Making your way across the main cliff where you found the node, you will need to jump across and get onto the platform that is colored purple. Once you’ve made your way onto the purple-colored cliff, your next objective will be to keep heading forward, and there will be two intersections going right and left.
Instead of heading left, make your way over to the right turning off the intersection, and once you’ve made it there, you will encounter a small step that will lead you down and onto the ground. Jump down, and you want to keep heading forward and keep going on until you’re able to steer left and encounter a rock cave entrance.
Go inside, and then turn right, after which you will hit a dead end. Instead of attempting to turn anywhere, turn left and there will be a small pathway leading through the cave, and you want to keep going on. Steer left, and after going straight for a while, turn right until you see a bit of light emerging from an exit.

Fifth Ember Zone Node
Now, there will be yet another node that will present in the ember valley as well. If you want to get that, start from the place where you found the last node, and look over the edge of a cliff. Right below the cliff, you will be able to encounter a small waterfall, alongside which there will be a purple platform.
Jump onto the purple platform, do a long jump to cross the purple platform, and land yourself up and onto the green cliffside. Keep heading on until your reach the edge of the cliff, and take a look to your left. Across the edge of the cliff, you will need to make a leap and jump down onto the platform below.
From there, keep running the second you land on the platform and perform a long jump onto the platform that can be seen. Head back down onto the ground, run across the water stream, and don’t jump onto it.
Cross the arch stone structure, and head up the mountain. Eventually, you will encounter an area that will be filled with lava, and there will also be orange-colored slimes that will be pretty feral, so use your weapon to take them out while you’re heading on the main path.
Get a headstart and keep running across the safe platform, and make sure that you don’t jump into the lava as it can damage your hp. You will come across a small water stream that you can jump onto, take a left turn, jump up the mountainside, and head to the very top of a mountain cliff where the node will be located.
Starlight Strand
Moving on, the next map data node location that we would like to talk about will be present in the starlight strand zone. Once you’ve teleported to the area, you will be present on top of a circular platform that will be pretty similar to the ones you must have encountered back in the ember valley zone excep for the only change this time will be that the platform will be colored orange.
When you first arrive at the location, you will be surrounded by beautiful surroundings and there will be loads of small waterfalls that will be surrounding the area, as well as there being a lot of orange, purple, pink, and blue colored grass.
From your main starting point, take a look to your left, after which you will be able to notice an embellishment that will be leading up the cliff. Jump up and onto two cliff-sides, after which you want to keep heading forward. When you do so, you will be onto a blue platform, and there will be an area that will be leading down.
When you’re on the ground, take a look towards your left, and there will be a small entrance that will be leading into a sandy area. From there, you want to levitate over to the platform that is present quite far away but is present across you.
From there, you will need to steer right, which will instantly start leading you up the main grassy area. Once you start heading up, you will come across a hologram that will be in the shape of a slime that will indicate the presence of a map data node. Starlight Strand Zone Seventh Node
When it comes to the next data node, it will also be present in the same area of the starlight strand zone. Make the place where you got your hands on the last data node your starting point, and from there, make a note of the purple-colored slope that is leading down. Instead of heading down the slope, you want to instead levitate back onto the platform that got you here in the first place.
There will be two small jumps that you will need to do if you want to reach the top platform, so make sure to do that. From there, head back through the small entrance, and keep heading up the purple and blue-colored platform. Once you’re on top of it, look across the edge of the platform, and you want to jump down and onto the orange platform from where you started searching for the last map data node.
Head into the general direction of the area across which you can see two slime-shaped stone structures, and you will see an intersection of the grass patches. One of the grass patches will be colored blue, while the other will be colored pink. Take the pink route, and head up the hill, and you will hit a dead end.
Take a look up, and you will see a place where you can climb on top. Once you’ve jumped up, you can keep going forward, and turn right. As your going forward, you’ll come across tons of yellow slimes that will be docile. Head back down onto the sandy area on the ground, and head into the alleyway that is pretty narrow.
Keep running, take a right turn, and you will come across a lake, and right across the lake, the node will be present on the cliff. How about checking out our Slime Rancher 2 Ember Valley guide!
Starlight Strand Eighth Node
When it comes to the final node, you will want to continue from the last checkpoint, which was where you found the seventh node. Turn around, and look over the edge of the cliff, and you might be able to encounter a branch across it, there will be a red-colored grass platform that you will need to jump on.
From there, keep heading on, and right in front of you, there will be a platform that will be present in front of you. However, you will need to levitate and jump up and onto the platform before making your way forward. Jump onto the wooden branch that is in front of you, and from there, jump down onto the grassy patch that is once again colored red.
There will be another cliff edge, and across from it, you will encounter a cliff that will have a sign with a skull sketched on it. Levitate onto the cliff edge and the grass. From that area, once again jump across and onto the next cliff edge, and keep moving forward until you can see a right turn.
Keep following the path that branch placed on the ground offers you, and head down the branch but stop to jump on the next cliff. Keep running across, and then jump up, and move up the branch that is also leading up. Levitate up, steer right and maintain your stamina while making your way over to the purple grass patch.
Keep heading on, and run through the arched area until you can come to across an area that is full of mushrooms. Head up the hill, and the node will be present near a slime stone structure.
