Why Do You Need To Scratch
One of the achievements/trophies in Stray requires you to scratch at different locations in each chapter. That achievement is known as “Territory”. All Scratching Spots & Locations In Stray
You’ll find various locations where you can scratch in each of the 12 chapters of Stray including the Prologue as well. Additionally, you only need to do the scratching once per chapter for the trophy/achievement to pop. Following is the list of chapters in Stray where you can do the scratching;
- Inside The Wall
- Dead City
- The Flat
- The Slums
- The Slums Part Two
- Dead End
- The Sewers
- Mid Town
- Control Room
Chapter 1: Inside The Wall
When you take control of your cat in Stray at the beginning of Chapter 1, you will come across some stairs. Climb these stairs to get near a tree in the game. You’ll see one of the other cats is already scratching on that tree. The game gives you an indication that you can also scratch on that tree making it your first location where you can scratch in Stray.
Chapter 2: Dead City
For your next scratching location, you’ll have to go through the city in Stray. During your journey here, the game will ask you to push a paint can into a room in order to enter the area. Once you enter the room, you’ll additionally see some carpets on the floor next to a bed in the game. You can basically scratch on these carpets for your chapter 2 scratching spot in Stray.
Chapter 3: The Flat
You can find a scratching location at the beginning of this chapter in Stray. As soon as you enter the Flat itself, you’ll get access to the scratching location in Chapter 3. When you enter the flat, you’ll find a carpet next to the kitchen area of the living room in the flat. That is your scratching spot for Chapter 3.
Chapter 4: The Slums
Again the scratching location can be found at the beginning of Chapter 4 in Stray. When you open up the garage in the Slums of Stray, you’ll find a carpet in the garage full of robots. You can scratch that carpet in Chapter 4. Additionally, there is Guardian Robot in a Red Robe standing next to the garage holding a big pole.
Chapter 5: Rooftops
The scratching spot in Chapter 5 is located on the very first rooftop. When the chapter starts, you’ll find yourself on the rooftop with a sign of an arrow. The carpet that you will scratch is located right next to that sign. Scratch that carpet to progress your achievement.
Chapter 6: The Slums Part Two
When you return to the Slums in Stray while playing through Chapter 6, you’ll find yourself inside Momo’s apartment. just scratch the carpet present in Momo’s apartment and you’ll be halfway through completing the Territory achievement.
Chapter 7: Dead End
There is only a single spot in Chapter 7 where you can do the scratching so do not miss out on that location in Stray. You will find this spot inside the Doc’s house in Chapter 7. Once you enter his house, go talk to the Doc. The Doc will advise you to explore his house. Go to the lowest floor inside Doc’s house. There you will find a carpet that you can scratch near a desk.
Chapter 8: The Sewers
Again, Chapter 8 has only one scratching spot so be on the lookout for that location while you’re playing through Stray. Play through Chapter 8 until you come across a locked gate. You will need to use B-12 in order to open that gate by unlocking two panels. Once the gate is open, proceed into the next room full of barrels. There is a wooden plank/cardboard near the left-most wall of that room which you can scratch in Stray.
Chapter 9: Antvillage
There are many locations where you can scratch in Chapter 9 of Stray. The abundance of these locations in Antvillage is almost as high as that of the Slums. However, for your quickest scratching spot, head over to the first level. After going upwards, you’ll come across a room where two robots are sitting on a bunk bed. The room will also be full of paint. You’ll find cardboard that you can scratch right next to the bed.
Chapter 10: MidTown
Getting to the location of the scratching spot in Midtown is pretty easy in Stray. Once you’re on the main street of Midtown, just take a hard right. You’ll find a robot sitting on a couch at that location. Under the robot’s foot, you’ll find a carpet that you can scratch in Stray.
Chapter 11: Jail
There are two different locations where you can scratch in Chapter 11 of Stray. Scratching one of these locations is actually part of the story so you won’t miss out on that location. Basically, at the end of the chapter, you will have to scratch a car door which will also help you in getting the Territory achievement.
Scratching that car door also allows you to get the attention of Clementine in Stray. Additionally, you can scratch a tree’s bark located near that car.
Chapter 12: Control Room
Chapter 12 is another one of those chapters where you’ll scratch things as part of the story. So you will not miss out on the scratching locations of the Control Room in Stray. Once inside the room, you will have to scratch the wires in a panel to open the door of the control room.
