Oh, Elden Ring. The internet can’t get enough of your hype, but all you do is delay yourself over and over again. Earlier this month, FromSoftware’s intensely anticipated action RPG had a huge gameplay reveal trailer leaked online. We covered that at Exputer here, should you want to give it a look, but today, unfortunately, we come with dismaying news.
That significant reveal last week has disrupted the developer’s original plan for dropping more of Elden Ring officially. This is all according to gaming insider Jeff Grub, a reliable source who knows what he talks about. On his YouTube channel, Jeff has started a series called “The Games Mess Show,” and this is where he has talked about Elden Ring. The timestamp of 10:30 in the video below is what you’re looking for.
Before we get into this, Jeff’s words were, “They [the sources] gave me confidence that Elden Ring would be by the end of March,” and that he knew “enough to be confident.” Who knows, if the leak that emerged wouldn’t have taken shape, things might have been looking good.
Now, however, Jeff has said the following in the video below. “I’m less certain [about an Elden Ring reveal in March], and I’m less certain because I think that the leak might have messed things up a little bit. […] The reason I think the leak might have messed things up, is I just think Bandai Namco are cracking down, figuring out how to adjust the messaging, making sure they fully understand how the leak happened…and then [they’ll] continue down the path toward officially announcing the game.”
He continues, “There’s going to be opportunities for them to [reveal Elden Ring]. If they don’t want to do it on their own — and they could do it on their own — but if they don’t want to do it on their own, June is not that far away.”
Apparently, Jeff describes E3 as the best time for Elden Ring to be unveiled more profoundly. Things have messed up for the developers, but looking on the bright side, the Souls-like title doesn’t seem that far off now, all things considered.
