We’ve been hearing some things about Intel’s new line of CPUs, the ninth generation of Intel processors. Last week we got some information come in about what could be the names of the new processors, here’s a refresher:
- Intel Core i9-9900K (est: 8 Core / 16 Threads)
- Intel Core i7-9700K (est: 6 Core / 12 Threads)
- Intel Core i5-9600K (est: 6 Core / 6 Threads)
Now we come to what’s been uncovered today. Intel has just confirmed the i5 and i3 ninth generation model names, which does actually include the i5-9600K along with a few others. They’re listed down below.
- Core i5-9600(K)
- Core i5-9500(T)
- Core i3-9100
- Core i3-9000
The 9600K is the highest processor we know of for now, though no doubt we’ll be seeing the i7 and i9 models get revealed sooner or later. All of these chips will be built as Coffee Lake S chips, based on 14 nm sized tech. However, the 9600K is only a stone’s throw away of being better than the previous generation’s 8600K with a gain of power on the scale of 100 MHz which can extend to 200 MHz on turbo. Not a groundbreaking leap, but a leap nonetheless. Both the chips will be running 4 cores with the i3 doing 4 threads and the i5 doing 6.
