After the success of Life is Strange, SQUARE ENIX announced the release of its sequel, Life is Strange 2. The DONTNOD Entertainment development team which won countless awards for their Life is Strange, is coming back with a 5-episode story.
In this Twenty-second super short trailer, it is teased that the title’s first episode will be coming out this year, on 27th September. Like its predecessor, it is expected to follow the same graphic manner as Life is Strange. It is played from a third-person view. The mechanic of rewinding time allows the player to redo any action that has been taken. The player can examine and interact with objects, which enables puzzle solving in the form of fetch quests and making changes to the environment. Items that are collected before time travelling will be kept in the inventory after the fact.
Perhaps it will follow the story from where it was left off in its prequel in which, Max and Chloe finally return to the lighthouse and confront the fact that Max brought the storm into existence by saving Chloe from being shot by Nathan earlier in the week. The only way to prevent it is for Max to go back to that moment via a photo she took and allow Chloe to be killed by Nathan. Max must make a choice: sacrifice Chloe’s life to save Arcadia Bay, or sacrifice Arcadia Bay to spare Chloe. It might just not continue at all, leaving the previous story line as it is. As it stands, currently not much has been given out regarding the game, which is expected since the gameplay style of story lines it follows. As of now, THE AWESOME ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN SPIRIT™, a narrative experience demo that links to LIFE IS STRANGE 2 will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on June 26th, for free while the game is set to arrive on said consoles, with the first episode on September 27th, 2018.
