Despite a fair amount of anticipation, Marvel’s Avengers couldn’t quite hit home in terms of a successful launch. The game has seen a whopping 96% loss of its player-base on Steam ever since its release 2 months ago. People just can’t seem to find their way with this game, thus paving the way to amass a hefty amount of loss for the developers.
However, the combat mechanics are satisfying and the superhero flavor exhibits itself nicely throughout the campaign. But, the highly repetitive loot-system coupled with a plethora of bugs and glitches make the experience not all that glamorous.
That said, there is untapped potential here. Crystal Dynamics can indeed put the game in the balance if they truly intend to do so. This is why Square Enix’s president has announced a strategy to compensate for the accumulated losses. The Japanese developer has no plans on giving up this early.
Fans can expect “extensive additional content” to drop sooner or later. Word has it that this recent convention was mainly inspired by a financial report that indicated substandard performance.
For now, Kate Bishop is coming to the big screen on the 8th of December. She’s Hawkeye’s protégé and will bring her very own story operation to the game.
As more is to come, there’s always a surefire hope of recovery. No Man’s Sky also saw poor reception on its launch but went on to offer a better experience over time.
Given that Marvel is a gigantic universe and has multiple ways of producing substantial content, Avengers can indeed rise to stardom if everything’s handled right. Square Enix will make sure that Crystal Dynamics has its full support in recovering sales and revamping the game to establish better attraction.
