Today Sony uploaded a video rounding up all the games coming to PlayStation 5. The games that weren’t exclusive to PlayStation 5 had subtitles mentioning, “also joining this platform.” Games like Horizon Forbidden West, Project Athia, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, and Godfall had their respective subtitles mentioning other platforms, while Demon’s Souls, Ratchet And Clank, and Gran Turismo 7 had none, only PlayStation 5 Exclusive was written over the top.
Although I’m not entirely surprised because Gran Turismo Sport is already available on PS5, however, on the other hand, Jim Ryan himself said the other day they will still release great games for the PS4. Ryan spoke to edge magazine, saying that they will support PS4 for an extended time compared to the PS3. He also said that releasing great games for PS4 was the “rational” thing to do.
”We do feel that we have a responsibility to that very large community, and an opportunity to carry on making great PS4 games for as long as the need is there. And I think that is the right thing to do, it’s the rational thing to do, and I think you will see a tail with PS4 that you did not see with PS3. But that said, as time passes, you’re going to see more and more emphasis on PS5 development, and the PS5 SKU will be the lead SKU.”
This does sound like a good thing, mainly because the PS5 is impossible to purchase. However, hearing that Gran Turismo 7 might not join PS4, it’s a bit confusing.
Apart from being PS5 exclusive only, there are also rumors that Gran Turismo isn’t targeting early 2021 release anymore.
The footage mentions no release date for Gran Turismo 7; besides, Sony also silently changed its PlayStation Ad wordings. Here’s how it was previously read.
