Is Wild Hearts Coming To Game Pass?

Will Electronic Art's latest RPG be added to the legion of titles in Game Pass?

Wild Hearts is EA’s latest attempt to recreate a modern monster-hunting RPG with promising gameplay, visuals, and co-op experience. With this exciting title on the way, many of its fans, especially on PC and Xbox, are wondering if Wild Hearts will be playable on Microsoft‘s most successful and cost-effective game subscription, Xbox Game Pass. The answer to that question, however, is an overall mixed bag and somewhat confusing.

Key Highlights
  • Wild Hearts will be released on February 16, 2023, on PC and current-gen consoles, including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Unfortunately, the game will not be coming out on either Xbox Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate on launch day.
  • Along with that, Wild Hearts will also not be coming to any other EA-based subscription services, including EA Play and EA Play Pro.
  • However, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass for PC subscribers will get access to a 3-day trial period for Wild Hearts just before launch.
  • The trial will be 10 hours long, with the players exploring Minato, one of the starting locations of the game.
  • So far, there hasn’t been any confirmation from Koei Tecmo Games or EA regarding when or if Wild Hearts will come to game pass.

Will Wild Hearts Be Coming To Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate?

Wild Hearts will not be coming to Game Pass – at least on launch day. If we look at the Wild Hearts FAQ page, we see a complete list of all the platforms the game will release on. However, the section doesn’t mention any release of the game on Game Pass. It also doesn’t hint at any future plans for Wild Hearts being included in Microsoft’s most popular gaming subscription service.

Fortunately, there is some good news for Game Pass subscribers, specifically Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass PC subscribers. The FAQ highlights that EA Play Members can play an early access trial version of Wild Hearts starting from February 13, 2023.

Since both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass PC include an EA Play subscription, you can experience the game three days prior to launch as a Game Pass Ultimate member. You can play the trial version by either purchasing an EA Play or EA Play Pro subscription for $4.99/month and $14.99/month, respectively, or subscribing to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $14.99/month.

Trial Period For Wild Hearts

The 3-day trial period will be of 10 hours, and players can “play up to the gates of Minato.” Minato is the game’s starting location, so you’ll have likely completed the initial phase of Wild Hearts and learned the basic mechanics by the end of the trial.

These 10 hours will also aid you in deciding whether or not you should fully buy the game. And as an EA Play subscriber, you’ll get an additional 10% off the full purchase to make your decision easier.

Future Plans For Wild Hearts On Game Pass

There is a likely chance that Wild Hearts might come to Game Pass in the future. This is because EA has its own competitive subscription services, EA Play and EA Play Pro, in which they regularly include their biggest titles.

However, Wild Hearts hasn’t been announced for those services yet. If the game does out on a subscription, it will probably come exclusively to EA Play and, consequently, Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate.

As such, there is a silver lining for Xbox Game Pass PC and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers as they’ve got access to EA Play. Unfortunately, the standard Game Pass on Xbox does not have the same privilege. As of now, you’ll have to buy the complete game on a PC or console if you want to experience it on launch.

Other Release Info On Wild Hearts

As highlighted previously, Wild Hearts will be coming to PC and current-gen consoles, including PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. For the PC release, you can purchase the game from all major game distributors like Steam, Epic Games, and Origin.

There are currently 2 versions of Wild Hearts that you can purchase – the Standard Edition for $69.99 and the Karakuri Edition for $89.99. The major difference between the two is that you’ll receive additional bonus in-game content with the Karakuri Edition.

As of now, both the Standard Edition and the Karakuri Edition are available for pre-purchase on all releasing platforms. You’ll also get bonus items from various stores as a reward for pre-ordering any edition of the game.

Conclusion

That wraps up our brief guide on Wild Heart’s release on Game Pass. Although this eagerly awaited title isn’t coming to game pass on launch day, we can expect it to be a part of the subscription later down the line. EA has had a consistent track down of including its major releases in EA Play within 1-2 years post-launch. Therefore, we hope that EA makes their Wild Hearts inclusion soon.
