Geoff Keighley gave some tid-bits about the show while talking about it in Twitter Space

The Game Awards mark an important event, and it is definitely, one of the most anticipated times of the year for the gaming community. We all want to see our favorite game take the crown and walk off the stage as the victor.

This year’s The Game Awards are set to take place on December 8. A lot of announcements and surprises might be on the way from the game devs for the fans. The anticipation is commendable, and we can’t wait to be part of later discussions on the Game Of The Year.

Major Takeaways:

  • Geoff Keighley, the host of the Game Awards, speaks live on Twitter Space about the ceremony.
  • The length of the show will be significantly shortened, according to Geoff.
  • Additionally, he said there would be fewer major game announcements at this year’s event.
  • Geoff is optimistic about the caliber of the TGAs, though.

We love to see the latest information on what might happen at TGAs, and adding to that, the host of the show took to Twitter Space with the topic #TheGameAwards Behind the Scenes today to talk about the event.

Geoff Keighley, the TGAs host, states that this year’s show would be considerably shorter and feature fewer major announcements.

The host went live on Twitter Space and said he couldn’t reveal anything officially, but the show’s air time will be significantly shorter. He further stated:

“We definitely have cut back pretty significantly in terms of the runtime on the show and just you know kind of fewer games fewer bigger games that’ll be in there.”

Many fans might find it disappointing as game announcements are a much-awaited part of The Game Awards. Given that Sony skipped big game announcements and even called off Gamescom 2022, fans have high expectations of TGAs. The event is being hoped for some PlayStation showcases.

Geoff might be attempting to avoid raising the bar, though. He doesn’t think the show will be disappointing because there is still a lot of wonderful stuff in the store. On his Space, Geoff stated:

“But we’ve got some really great announcements. I think some really amazing studios around the world that are participating in the show this year. There’s some games that I’ve been. hoping and wanting to show for a number of years that are finally ready this year to up to showcase to to folks at the game awards so we’re very very happy with how that’s coming together.”

Geoff is confident enough about the event, which can be seen from one of his earlier tweets as well.

However, despite the host’s statement, we’re still looking forward to the show as much has already been revealed, making the show anticipation worthy. Leaks and rumors are always an important part of any important event, and some of these leaks have definitely made TGAs worth looking forward to.

That includes Tekken 8’s appearance at the event. Tekken 8 is confirmed to make an appearance at The Game Awards. A veteran Tekken commentator has seemingly spilled the beans already.

Also, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is also rumored for the show. According to reputed leaker Jeff Grubb, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be featured at The Game Awards 2022.

Additionally, the Diablo 4 release date will also unveil in The Game Awards. The game aims for a 2023 release, but no concrete date has been announced thus far.

The community is speculating on the expected release date of the game. But according to leaks, Diablo 4’s release date will be revealed during the upcoming The Game Awards ceremony.

It is yet to be seen if The Game Awards surpass expectations and show their quality as per hype. The Game Awards will go live on December 8, 2022, and viewers can catch the exciting game announcements and trailers on Twitch and Youtube.
