Splatoon 3 Retail Sales Continue Topping UK Charts In 3rd Week

The game stood at the top despite a steep recline in overall sales from previous weeks.

Splatoon 3 is the most recent fan-favorite iteration in Nintendo’s Splatoon series released solely for the portable Switch. The stellar competitive experience is already considered the finest rendition due to its refinement and has been a hot topic after releasing hardly a few weeks ago.

The game was praised for its up-to-par multiplayer alongside a hearty campaign that allowed players to relive the Splatoon nostalgia with a modern twist. Splatoon 3 has already sold a staggering amount, rolling out millions in figures during the first few days in Japan alone.

However, the title is just as popular in the western regions too. Splatoon 3 keeps topping charts all over the world consecutively.

 Major Takeaway:

  • Splatoon 3 continues to loom over all the other titles in UK physical sale charts for three weeks consecutively.
  • The title secured the top spot despite a steep drop of 44 percent this week.
  • Stray physical edition occupied the third podium this week.

Initially reported by GamesIndustry, the United Kingdom’s retail charts for the week ending September 24 are finally out for highest sold games, unveiling exciting figures to examine.

Nintendo’s recent giant release, Splatoon 3 continues to stay in demand, as revealed by the charts. The title still looms over all the other titles despite entering the third week.

The game’s triumph and high demand are apparent in the western regions by the sales of the game. It’s worth noting that Splatoon 3 overshadowed all the other games despite a 44 percent total drop in sales from the prior week.

The sales have slowed down but it may take a while for other titles to overthrow Splatoon 3. On the other hand, the physical edition for Stray is finally out and it rolled out a hefty amount as well. The adorable cat simulator managed to secure the number three spot in the retail charts.

It’s definitely nice to see boxed copies of Stray sell like hotcakes despite the digital version also prevailing in the gaming sphere for a few weeks straight. It goes to show that physical editions of highly popular games still attract a large audience.

Nintendo’s Mario Kart 8 Deluxe saw a decent rise in sales, bumping up the title to second place. The game rose one place from the previous week, despite having a 5 percent reduction in overall sales from last week.

Grand Theft Auto 5 also made a comeback, towering over other participants by getting fifth place in the retail charts. The title climbed from the ninth position and witnessed 21 percent more copies sold for the week ending September 24th.

Overall, all the fan-favorite Nintendo games made on the charts this week; the only new addition was Stray’s physical version. Splatoon 3 has been a global success and already boasts a huge figure of sales, the charts have further solidified its top position among all the other titles.
