Raspberry Pi is currently the king of the mini PCs with its incredible performance considering its price and size. However, Renegade Elite Mini PC is here to challenge the Raspberry Pi 3 for the title of king as the Renegade Elite Mini PC comes with better hardware and support for 4K streaming.
The Renegade Elite Mini PC comes with a hexa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and two USB 3.0 Type-C ports of which one can be used as input for the power. Furthermore, it features 3 standard USB 3.0 ports, HDMI 2.0 output, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity.
Not only that, the Renegade Elite Mini PC also comes with storage expansion thanks to microSD card slot and eMMC 5.x interface. Like the Raspberry Pi 3, this mini PC can run Linux based OS and is also capable of running Android Oreo.
With this mini PC’s capability to run Android Oreo, you will probably be able to convert the mini PC into an Android based game console. Also, as we mentioned earlier, this mini PC supports 4K streaming, meaning you can watch Netflix in 4K on this mini PC.
While everything looks good but the price tag for this mini PC might not be in its favor. For comparison sake, the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ is available around $35 while the Renegade Elite Mini PC is priced at $100.
The $100 price also makes sense since it comes with higher specs but from the point of the view of the competition, it might not work in its favor.
Aside from the $100 price tag, the retail version might cost you 20% more. According to Libre Computer, the retail version of this upcoming Mini PC will be available in August.
What are your thoughts on this upcoming mini PC? Will it be able to compete with Raspberry Pi with its price tag of $100 and higher specs? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
