Underrated Battle Royale Games You Should Play In 2020

Have you heard about these Underrated Battle Royale Games?

It is really important that we discuss some underrated Battle Royale Games that deserve a piece of action. I personally played around 20 to 30 Battle Royale Games on Steam, and I can assure you that there are some Underrated Battle Royale Games everyone must play.

I’ve picked these games, based on community feedback, reviews, gameplay, and if they are worth playing in 2020. Likewise, I’ll discuss their plot, gameplay, features, and my personal experience with them.

So without wasting any more time, lets jump straight into the details.

Realm Royale

Players can Travel Through Horse in Realm Royale

Starting off our list with a game from Hi-Rez Studios, that is Realm Royale. This game, I mean is so unique and incredible, it is in a league of its own. Featuring fantasized and funky gameplay, Realm Royale has a class system like Apex Legends. You get to choose a class from 5 unique characters. Each character has its own perks and abilities. For example, the most popular class is Warrior, who has the ability to constantly throw Axe, Leap Jump, and most importantly Gain 5 Health Per Second. The classes, create a huge difference in gameplay, and to sum up, the game becomes really tactical, and you get a wide variety of playstyle options.

Moreover, the game also features the classic Battle Royale aspect. Which is dropping in a map with 100 players, looting, and then making it to the end. Similarly, there is also an airdrop like other games, that will provide you with a super rare weapon.

Now apart from the excellent Class System, there is also Crafting System. Players are allowed to carry two guns, and two class skills. Other than that, the game has its whole meta circled around Loot. Players in Realm Royale breakdown guns, gather resources, and then they are able to craft gear, skill, and class-specific weapons.

The Best Part of the game for me

When I first mentioned it is unique, I really meant it. The game has an excellent class and crafting system, but it does not end there. For example, the game has full of troll Chicken Systems. When players are killed by the opponent, they do not return instantly return back to the lobby. Instead, they turn into a Chicken, and if they managed to stay alive for 10 seconds. They will return back to their normal form.

Martin Reviewed Realm Royale when it was all new in 2018. In the Review, Martin clarified that it’s not exactly a Fortnite replica, as many players say. In fact, its a different game with really unique & excellent features.

Darwin Project

The second game on our list is the Darwin Project. This game is one of my favorite games to be released this year. Darwin Project is another unique game with some of the most incredible features you will hear. The Battle Royale game is very different from others, as it features only 10 players in a single match.

Temperature Gauge on the bottom left

The whole game is circled around Temperature Guage that is on your bottom left. Survival is the key in the game, your survival will be focused on staying warm, and not freezing to death. Players cut trees for campfires and constantly move to keep themselves warm(no campers in the game!). Similarly, the game does feature robotic style gameplay. However, there aren’t any guns. Only Bows and Arrows are part of the game, which makes it sound really interesting.

Apart from the Satisfying Gameplay and Fluent Movement. Darwin Project like Realm Royale also has classes. These three classes, Jet Wings, Grapple Gauntlet, and Headhunter Drone feature exclusive benefits. For example, Headhunter Drone will allow you to stay invisible, Grapple Gauntlet would benefit you with shield, and Wings, of course, will allow you to fly and escape from fights.

Since the game is 10 players only, and developers have more freedom to execute new features. Darwin Project also features Crafting, which adds further entertainment to the already well enjoyable game.

I forgot to mention my favorite feature of the game, which is Open Voice Chat. Yes, you heard me right, the fights which are usually really long and snappy allows players to actively talk between them. Often times, you will hear your enemy saying please let me go, I’ve low health and funny stuff like that.

To sum up, in one sentence, I’d say Darwin Project is one hell of an excellent game.

Cuisine Royale

Underrated Battle Royale Game
This appearance says a lot about Cuisine Royale.

Players really active in 2019 will remember several memes from the BR Game Cuisine Royale. The game came into the spotlight with its really funky and abnormal gameplay. This started with the weird kitchen pieces of equipment, that were automatically attached to the body while looting. Players looked really funny with kitchen items all over the body. The overall gameplay appearance made the game look really friendly, and brought a great vibe to Cuisine Royale.

Anyway, Developer Gaijin noticed that players were actually enjoying this weird gameplay. Therefore, they really transformed the game and worked really hard to make it worth playing. Now Cuisine Royale is a proper Battle Royale game with a huge following. The game is set in the WW2 era, and you will be playing in two maps, Normandy and Mexico. The overall gameplay and animations are really smooth. Visuals look stunning, and there isn’t a lot to complain about when it comes to gameplay and graphics.

Underrated Battle Royale Game

In Cuisine Royale, there are different characters players can choose from. Each character has its own weird power, and none of them really make sense. For example, this one character called Clyde turns into a beast and runs crazily fast. His power allows him to beat people with fists, and regenerate health really fast. These characters make the game a little tactical, but to be honest the overall game is really simple. Players start in a map with 50, and like other Battle Royale game, you just loot and make sure you are the last man standing.

Combat is really my favorite part of the game. That is to say, it is really realistic, and killing people with those WW2 guns is satisfying. Apart from that, the game is available in two modes. However, I found out that in the third person it feels much better.

Now you might be thinking, Cuisine Royale sounds like a really funky WW2 set game with realistic features. Well, that is not entirely true, because the game has a feature called rituals and traps. Traps can be used by the player for just themselves. These include jump pads and stuff like that. However, rituals have more value because once you perform them, it applies to the whole server. For example, there is a Zombie Ritual that spawns dozens of Zombies in the game, and players have to kill them as well. I’ve to say, that features like these add a great twist in Cuisine’s Royale Gameplay.

To conclude, Cuisine Royale is an incredible mixture of realistic & unrealistic features. Once you get going with its ranking system. I can confirm, its very addicting.

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Underrated Battle Royale Game
Characters look really funny in Totally Accurate Battlegrounds

Another Underrated Battle Royale game on our list is Totally Accurate Battlegrounds. This Battle Royale, in my opinion, has the perfect combination of graphics, gameplay, and combat.

Totally Accurate Battleground features cartoonish sort gameplay, which is enhanced by the use of weird physics. The graphics at first glance look pixelated because there are literally no details to anything. However, if you pay attention, the overall graphics look really smooth and suit the game.

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds like other BR Game starts with players dropping in the map. However, this one features a really weird drop. Players are just thrown in the air, and they drop somewhere they are unaware of. The gameplay is in the first person, and most of the time you will be seeing your weird Roblox body appearing on the screen. Additionally, you can also drive bikes, jump like a kangaroo, and gather attachments for guns.Underrated Battle Royale Game

The combat system is really suitable for the game. However, when you are unable to find a scope for your gun. The Iron sight is really boring and aiming through it can be really difficult. Most of the combats happen in close range, because of how difficult it is to shoot from range.

Apart from its excellent gameplay, I’ve to say Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is just made to troll players. Whenever a player dies, the game tells him BYE BYE, and he returns back to lobby. Moreover, there are weird sounds in warmup and I couldn’t figure where they are coming from.

Playing it in First Person

Anyway, the gameplay is really straight forward. There is a maze, that spawns in the middle of the game, and makes quite a presence. The Maze keeps getting narrower, and players are unable to go back. Unlike many other Underrated Battle Royale Games, this one costs money. But to clarify, I think this game is well worth the amount you pay for it. If you are my type of player, who is just looking to enjoy games and aren’t competitive oriented. I think Totally Accurate Battlegrounds is the way to go.

Super Animal Royale

5 Underrated Battle Royale Games
A typical 1vs1 in Super Animal Royale

Super Animal Royale unlike other games on our list isn’t 3D. But, don’t let that distract you from the fact that is a really great game.

So the game starts with as you would have thought Animals. Players pick their favorite animal and are ready to be dropped by a bird in 64 player chaos. The maps are quite huge, and they are filled with crates, boxes, trees, and many more resources.

Like other battle royale games, players In Super Animal Royale are also unable to see their opponents. However, the overall 2D camera view is really huge. Therefore, most of the players discover each other in a snap.

Most of the times, you will be looting crates

The Combat system is a really traditional 2D game style. Pick up guns and simply aim with the cursor and keep shooting. There isn’t a lot of scopes and attachments gimmick involved. It is really plain and simple. In addition, the gameplay is really tactical. Unlike other Battle Royale games, where players do everything for a kill. Players in Super Animal Royale always go for positioning and avoiding fights. Often you will see someone damage the opponent’s armor or health and then get away from him.

You can also Play Duo and Squad’s in Super Animal Royale

The purpose is to stay alive, and not let others come close to you. Secondly, the game’s graphics are really great, and its the most optimized title on our list. Visuals are really colorful, and the details are so that good, that you can also hear your enemies tape themselves in distance.

if you are a big fan of 2D games and prefer strategic gameplay combined with Battle Royale mod. I’ll highly recommend you to go with Super Animal Royale.

Just to clarify, this game has Overwhelmingly Positive Reviews on Steam. Very few games are able to get this feedback from players, and this explains a lot about its quality.

  • Price on Steam: Two Versions, Free to play, and Full Edition Costs $6.5
  • Platforms: Microsoft Windows, Macintosh

Takeaways

Some people might think, what’s the point of exploring more Underrated Battle Royale Games when we already have such top-notch titles. Well, I think that every player should have a variety of games in his library. Likewise, depending on your mood, you can play whichever game is suitable.

For example, I’ve dozens of similar games that I play regularly. However, when I am kinda tired and don’t really want to be super competitive, I skip CS:GO and go for some Battlefield. Likewise, there are times I skip PUBG and play the crazily weird Totally Accurate Battlegrounds.

The takeaway is that you should try these underrated battle royale games mentioned above. Also, just to let you know, most of these games are completely free. Therefore, give them a shot, because you have nothing to lose.
