In Subnautica, players have to acquire a lot of resources, but one of the primary and earliest is Cave sulfur. It is a raw material made of sulfur used for making certain electronics. It is present in the Plant of Crashfish. When the game was in the development phase/early access, many names were suggested for cave sulfur, such as “Crash Meal,” probably named after Crashfish.
Another proposed name was Crashfish powder and Crashfish sulfuric powder. However, when the game was released, the developers officially changed the resource’s name to cave sulfur.
- Cave sulfur is crucial for crafting electronics and items in Subnautica.
- Obtaining it can be challenging due to Crashfish guarding sulfur-rich plants.
- Explore underwater caves where Crashfish nests are found.
- Look for nests attached to walls emitting faint orange glow.
- Lure Crashfish out by getting close to the nest, causing it to emerge and attack.
- Swim away to create distance; Crashfish will stop pursuing and return to nest.
- Crashfish will explode upon returning to nest, releasing cave sulfur for collection.
How To Get Cave Sulfur?
- Find a cave where Crashfish nests housing cave sulfur are located.
- Lure Crashfish out of its nest to trigger explosion.
- Maintain safe distance while Crashfish explodes.
- Collect cave sulfur powder released after explosion.
- Use Repulsion Cannon or Stasis Rifle to manage Crashfish if needed.
- Keep distance to avoid damage from Crashfish explosion.
- Use caution when approaching caves with multiple Crashfish nests.
