This Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s best abilities list examines some of the most valuable powers and skills found within the game. Most of these are unavailable until well into the game, so players may have to max level up significantly before getting their hands on them. So, with this guide, we’ll highlight what we think are the best abilities in the game.

Best Abilities In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
Abilities | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Rush Assassination | Assassin | To deal 100% up closed Assassin's damage, you have to Launch the Leonidas Spear from a distance. |
Death Veil | Assassin | The Enemies eliminated by the Assassin's aren't able to get detected, all you need is a Shadow Assassin. |
Critical Assassination | Assassin | To deal 200% Assassin damage, you need to launch a deadly precision attack. |
Devastating Shot | Hunter | The blood thirsty arrow can unleash 290% hunter's damage, as well as increase elemental buildup by 150%. |
Predator Shot | Hunter | You need to zoom and shoot an arrow that travels 25% distance and 430% Hunter damage. |
Might Of Artemis | Hunter | Attack the enemies with an arrow within the radius of 3 meter, and also deals 450% damage. |
Depending on their playstyle, players can choose to invest in three different classes of abilities in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
You are never forced into one path since the game is extremely generous with ability points.
- Assassin: Stealth skills for hidden takedowns, poison, and crew support using Spear of Leonidas.
- Hunter: Ranged skills for long-distance attacks with bows, tame animals, and special arrows.
- Warrior: Melee combat skills for fast, powerful attacks, staggering, and disarming foes.
Rush Assassination – Assassin
This ability allows you to throw the Spear of Leonidas at an enemy and instantly jump to their location. What follows next is a powerful assassination attack that not only deals a lot of damage but can also be chained to another enemy in range. Upgrading this ability to level 3 allows you to deal even more damage and chain the attack to three other enemies in a row.
Death Veil – Assassin
Death Veil. When you kill enemies during stealth, their bodies don’t magically disappear. They stay exactly where you left them, waiting for any incoming patrols to spot them. So in order to clean up after themselves, players have to constantly pick up corpses and stash them away from any prying eyes.
Death Veil is invaluable for Assassin builds, but it is unfortunately acquired through the first episode of the Legacy of the First Blade expansion. If you don’t have it purchased, the ability won’t even show up in the abilities tab.
Critical Assassination – Assassin
Critical Assassination: For tougher foes who survive regular assassinations, use this skill. Hold the assassinate button to charge up a powerful attack that, at level 3, deals 300% more damage. Essential for eliminating stronger enemies and elite units. Combine with Assassin damage-boosting gear for maximum effectiveness.
Devastating Shot – Hunter
Devastating Shot allows you to take down tough elite enemies, charging up a glowing arrow attack that deals up to 400% Hunter damage at level 3. It can handle even the most formidable foes that regular arrows can’t touch.
Predator Shot – Hunter
Predator Shot is a must-have for stealth archer builds. This versatile Hunter skill lets you guide your arrow’s path after launch, akin to a heat-seeking missile under your control. You can use it to reach otherwise hidden or distant areas, all while dealing damage that can scale up to 600% at level 3. The arrow’s travel distance is also enhanced, extending up to 150% at max level, ensuring you can keep your distance from the target.
Might Of Artemis – Hunter
Might of Artemis is not a basic ability; it replaces Rain of Destruction in the Hunter tree and can be obtained by playing through episode 1 of the Fate of Atlantis expansion.
This skill isn’t meant for long-range attacks. It’s an area-of-effect ability that unleashes a burst of golden arrows in a small radius around you, making it perfect for close combat.
When you find yourself surrounded by foes, activate Might of Artemis to inflict 450% Hunter damage. It also stuns enemies within range for 5 seconds and increases the damage they take from melee attacks and abilities.
Alternative Picks
Here are some other good Abilities in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey that you might want to consider using according to your preference.
- Shadow Assassin: Increases damage and automatically loots the enemy after assassination.
- Stealth Master: It is a good option as it reduces noise from movement and assassination.
- Slow Time: Allows you to slow down time for seven seconds and land heavy attacks.
My Opinion On The Best Abilities
It goes without saying, but for me, the best ability has to be between Spartan Kick and Fury of the Bloodline. The Spartan Kick is obviously popular amongst the community because you can instantly kill enemies by ruthlessly kicking them off a high ledge or cliff to their deaths.
But for actual combat experts, Fury of the Bloodline is amazing to inflict large amounts of DPS on bosses and mercenaries, as it helped me a ton when trying to overcome the post-game boss fights and the DLC encounters.
