A few days ago, Activision announced the fourth installment called “Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about time” in the long-running Crash Bandicoot series. The action-packed announcement trailer shows what Activision had been doing with the franchise since the partnership with PlayStation back in 2016. It should be noted that Naughty Dog was the original developer of the franchise. Activision remastered the first three titles of the game from the ground and ported these to current-gen platforms.
The N. Sane trilogy was praised for its original gameplay and graphics, and thus Activision acquired the franchise. It has been ten years since the last original Crash Bandicoot game was released, and now the latest game in the installment is imminent. Here’s the trailer of the game if you missed it. The game will release in October.
Rumor-mil was mostly quiet since the announcement of the game until tomorrow. According to gamedebate, an ad from GameStop leaked online, which shows that the game will contain more than 100 levels, which are more than the three of its predecessors combined. If the rumor is believed to be true, then it would definitely be the longest game of the franchise with added goodies from the new developer.
Crash Bandicoot franchise has been known for delivering short games, which isn’t a bad aspect at all. The problem arose when Activision announced that the game would retail at full price, i.e., 60 dollars. Fans of the series were not happy, primarily because of the fact that the release price of N. Sane trilogy was only $40.
Perhaps, the leak may justify the higher price tag.
