Cyberpunk 2077 is a game that we have been waiting for a long time now and even though we did see a part of the game at E3 2018, it was also shown to the press behind closed doors. It is a game from CDPR so there is a lot of anticipation around the game. The devs talked about the open world and the political themes in the game. Here we are going to look into all that.
The creator of the Cyberpunk 2020 RPG, Mike Pondsmith has been working CDPR in developing Cyberpunk 2077 and the following is what he had to say regarding the matter:
I got to wander through a lot more than was shown at E3, The sequences where you’re going down to the Ripperdoc and all that. There’s entire neighborhood areas in there where you can walk around and you can listen to people’s gossip.
Mike Pondsmith has worked with the devs in order to make the game and he can provide some useful insights regarding the game. He further went on to mention the following about Cyberpunk 2077:
Because it’s in first-person, what I love is you get that stuff peripherally. You could be crossing to go down the street to get something and hear somebody say something [behind you], and you have to turn and figure out who said it in a crowd and where. You don’t have complete situational awareness, which makes it a far more powerful experience.
Pondsmith mentioned the first person perspective of the game, he did not seem to mind what he saw. The following is what he had to say in this regard:
You stop doing your gameplay on a strategic level. You have to do it on a tactical, immediate level, because you don’t know everything. When you’re in third-person, you can look and see the entire battlefield, so to speak. When I’m in [first-person], I’m in it. Stuff that happens around me is coming to me at the speed it would naturally
From what we have seen so far, it will be some time before we will be able to play Cyberpunk 2077. I am sure that fans can wait a while longer as long as they get a good game in the end.
