While replying to a user in a video, the official Meta Quest YouTube account has confirmed that GTA San Andreas VR has been put “on hold indefinitely.” The decision to shelve the entry was made so Meta could focus on other projects. However, no further remarks were made that could explain this abrupt development. The YouTube video was for the devs’ upcoming Meta Quest title, Behemoth

GTA: San Andreas is on hold indefinitely while we both focus on other projects. We look forward to working with our friends at Rockstar in the future,” said the spokesperson.

IGN also reached out to Meta via email to hear the same affirmation, further solidifying that the VR game won’t come out anytime soon.

This highly anticipated project would have allowed players to officially experience the renowned open-world experience in complete 6DOF. Therefore, many players have expressed dissatisfaction with the studio for putting GTA San Andreas VR on hold across multiple forums across the web.
